Always. It seems like they followed standards of quality that you just don't get today. :/ Storylines were much more interesting.

This will date me a bit but I watched a lot of the 80's cartoons. Some of my favorites where Smurfs, He-man, T.M.N.T., Voltron, and Ducktales.

I have older parents though so I also grew up watching a lot of cartoons from the 40s, 50s, and 60s as well.

Here's some I watched a lot-
Baby Huey
Little Audrey
Popeye
Casper the Friendly Ghost
Woody Woodpecker
Bugs Bunny Show
Looney Toons
and a lot of others by Merrie Melodies put out by Warner Bros. between the 1930's and the 1960's.
World War II really helped Warner Bros. into the cartoon business.

Some of the cartoons I like now are Phineas and Ferb, X-Men: Evolution, and The Venture Bros.

Ugh. I can't even watch cartoons they have on now. At least in the 90s the cartoons were of some sort of...relevancy. Now it's all just dumb stuff. They used to teach morals and such, but now all they teach children is how to be dumb. I can't turn on the disney channel or Nick or Cartoon Network for fear of sheer idiocy. I can still handle Spongbob Squarepants because it's still a good show, and Avatar: The Last Airbender was the only decent plot-driven cartoon I've seen in a long time.

Ugh. Yeah, I miss the old cartoons. At least the dumb humor there was funny and not just dull.

I do miss all the 90's cartoons, like the rest of you guys are saying, those cartoons actually taught some kind of lesson that was actually useful to kids. I loved courage the cowardly dog though! That show was scary and awesome all in one! Also Sabrina the teenage witch was one of my favorites too. I still want to re watch it to this day. Oh Harvey!

I don't like Cartoon network much anymore I am also a '90s child as well i miss the old cartoons I Loved rein and stimpy and Pinky and the Brain. Animeanics and Scooby doo , Power puff girls and the smufs and Tiny Toons, Loony Toons and I absolutely hate the new cartoons they are just okay but the old cartoons were awesome and a lot funnier and entertaining i would say. I also miss the Micky mouse club. I remember i use to try so hard to stay up past midnight when i was so young to watch it not so hard anymore though lolz

I mildly miss those cartoons.
My favorite cartoon was Scooby Doo, which I can still watch because I have Boomerang.
All those "old cartoons" I watched when I was growing up is also on Boomerang.
I felt so old when I saw that.
But I did get to watch an episode of Dexter's Laboratory.

xoSarahBellaxo 10-22-2009 03:10 PM

I remember Dexters Laboratory great times , great show.

Mirielle195 10-22-2009 03:46 PM

Oh man, I was a child of the 80's so I miss all those 80 cartoons. I miss some early 90's cartoons too. I think most cartoons made in the USA nowadays aren't that great to be honest. Well there are a few exceptions. I love watching Total Drama Action, but that's about it as far as current stuff.

Damian 10-24-2009 02:17 AM

yes i do. i miss the old cartoon network...

I do agree that today's cartoons are crap. I wonder what I will do when my daughter is older and wants to watch thing like Sponge Bob, and whatever other garbage is out there. Maybe I'll just have to buy DVDs of all the old shows I loved like Care Bears, My Little Pony, Smurfs, Gummy Bears, Shera, Fraggle Rock, and others of that era.
