So, I am kind of a WWE fan XD Don't laugh. Haha. So, some people say it's fake and staged. Others say it's real. I was just wondering what everyone on here thought. Sometimes I think it's fake. Then other times I wonder how it could be fake especially with the noises you can hear (i.e. slapping, punching, kicking, noises of someone being punched, kicked, etc.). So, is it real? Fake? What do you think? :feesh:
Tell meh! :squee:

OK, so don't laugh but I am a HUMONGORE fan of WWE. Did anyone else on here watch last night's WWE Monday Night Raw? I did! So, what were your favorite and least favorite parts? What are your favorite and least favorite wrestlers? Divas? Explain why!!! :feesh: Also, what did you think of Shawn Michaels leaving?
--------------------------------------------
Favorite- I was very pleased when Randy Orton beat Jack Swagger. I don't why. I don't like Orton much, but for some reason I just don't like Jack Swagger. I also loved when John Cena (cheering!) told Jack Swagger off! ^.^ =3
Least Favorite- I couldn't decide whether or not I hated when Batista left Cena in the ring with Showmiz, or when David Otonga (excuse horrid spelling), the guest host, left Cena afterwards in the ring with Showmiz after Batista had earlier and then Batista came and started bashing on the knocked out John Cena!!!! :illgetu: :rawrmayor: I was so ticked when this happened.
--
Favorite wrestler- Definitely John Cena (he's nummy!). I was a fan of Batista, but after he did what he did to John Cena last night, I lost a LOT of respect and love for him, even though he is very schmexy. :P
Least favorite wrestler- Edge. He is just stuck -up, self centered, obnoxious, and horrible. I also dislike Jericho. He's the same as Edge.
Divas- I haven't watched a lot of them in a while, so I don't know.
--
Shawn Michaels (Heart Break Kid)- I almost cried when it went over about him leaving. He is so amazing. Him leaving also means the end of DX noooo! -sadness-

I personally think that the majority of it fake. it seems no matter how much they "pound the shit out of each other" I haven't seen any bruising on them. You would think that they would have bruises up the wazoo from it. but there are certain times, that seem real.
I'm not a fan of WWE...I've watched it maybe twice in the past month. and that's more the laugh at the ridiculousness and the drama of it all. I personally think the WWE gives actual wrestling a bad name. My dad wrestled when he was in high school, and he agrees with me.

It's choreographed to produce the most drama possible while making it look "manly." That way they can sell lots and lots and lots of merchandise.
You wanna see real fights? Watch boxing or MMA.

It's staged and the fighting is fake. They make exaggerated noises to make it sound more real and they pull their punches so the actual plow doesn't hurt. So it all looks kind of real and they practice. Now what is real is sometimes they get actually hurt, especially on some of the high flying moves and jumps. Still a lot of the blood you see is from tiny pre-cuts they make on their heads so when they are hit it looks worse than it is.

I used to watch it a lot and then I realized that it was fake and I instantly got bored of it.
Wrestling is a man's soap opera. The fights are choreographed, the noises are exagerated and the majority of hit dont hurt. Now some do. The flying and the weapons, those are real injuries. When the wrestler is taken out in an ambulance thats real.

true. the noises do seem a bit loud if they are heard all the way from the ring to the cameras/audience. still, i can't help but be addicted, even though most of them are over-steroid-ized idiots. I do think that some parts are fake, but also maybe at least a little bit is real. I can't help but love it, just a little bit ^.^ some of them are pretty nummy looking XD haha. Like some said, the high flying moves and jumps, plus when they use weapons (i.e. pipes, etc.) that seems pretty real to me.
@Syraannabelle: I love that 'wrestling is a man's soap opera' it made me laugh XD
---
what do you guys think of parents taking their children to WWE,TNT, NXT, etc. matches? I think that's pretty irresponsible that they are exposing their VERY young children ( have seen kids looking 3 years old in the audience) to that violence, no matter how real or unreal.

glad you enjoyed that ^.^
Actually when WWF (back in the day) came to my home town, my dad took me, my older brother and my older sister to see it.(9, 13, 15)
I think it's fine to take your kids to see it, as long as you teach your kids the difference between what they see and what they are allowed to do. Like I grew up watching Looney Toons, but I wouldn't attempt to drop a piano on someone, to see their body flat like a pancake on little skinny legs.

@syraannabelle: well, if you teach them than i guess it is fine. but kids around 3? i don't think i would want my 3 year olds seeing that. maybe 8 or older. and haha, that's great. very nice comparison to looney tunes and dropping a piano on someone. im a bit suspicious, the way you described it kind of made me think maybe you DO want to do that :O

oh there are several people I'd love to drop a piano on.
But to me, theres not much difference, considering all the blood and gore on tv these days, kids are going to be introduced to violence sometime anyways.... but thats just me.
And please just call me Syra ^.^

true. and in video games too. i guess it may not make much difference, but you might as well try to keep their innocence for as long as possible.

I think it's fake... I once told my brother that it was "an excuse for old men to wear tights and hug" and the description stuck with me so that's how I think of it now.

I loved WWE when I was younger. Undertaker being my fave (and he's still around, yay!) I miss the old days of it. Now it's just all way to fake for me. Especially when they throw their little talks of drama in. Like that whole ordeal with Vicky & Edge...pfft! Sad to know even all the fights are staged too :(

I never bothered to actually sit down and watch it. But my brother and dad LOVE watching it. I just hear the guys on there say shit about each other, and then supposedly fight. I can't stand it. If you are going to beat the living shit outta each other, THEN DO SO! Don't'cha know??? But then again, I don't like watching a normal wrestling match, or any kind of sport. It's much more enjoyable to do the sport, than watch someone else do it.

I'm too lazy to read through everyone's posts, but it's common knowledge that 'professional wrestling' such as WWE, and any other brand, is fake. It's all planned out and scripted. There ARE occurrences where people really do get hurt and even die, but those are just freak accidents. Everything is planned out for our entertainment.

Haha, I know what everyone means. The whole sh*t talking thing is stupid, and at times it looks fake. Like Laila said, if you're going to fight, just do it.
----------
I know it is fake, but it's still a bit addicting and real-looking at times
