Percy Jackson and the Olympians: BOOK TO MOVIE
 

For those of you who read the series before the movie was EVER advertised, doesn't it bother you much they screwed it up? I haven't seen it yet(nor do I ever plan to), but I HAVE seen trailers. And I HAVE noticed how much they f**ked it up. Anyone else share my opinion?

I totally agree. The movie has completely ruined it for me since like every kid in my grade is reading the book just because of the movie. Like with Twilight.

They always ruin book to movie sort of deals. :/ Hollywood doesn't find half of the information and other such things interesting enough to be put into the movie. And if they did, the movie would be way too long.

I've never read the book, but I did see the movie. But something that caught me was... if the main characters fell in love, isn't that incest? <__<;

Incest is nothing unusual in the world of Greek mythology. . . .

The movie was good, yes, but they did muck it up quite a bit and it's irritating me. They're planning on making the second one! o.0
And yes, Percy x Annabeth is incest, which I find hillarous because it's cannon and they make a beautiful couple.
Isn't Annabeth blonde? She's a brunette in the movie. o.0

They completely messed up Annabeth which annoyed me so much because she's one of my favourite characters. When you first see her in the film, I thought she was Clarisse! The Annabeth in the film was too violent and stupid. It was Percy who made all the decisions. And grover being a ladies man? What's up with that?!
Hades would never try and rise up against his brothers. I don't ever see that happening. Kronos was only mentioned once at the start of the film, so I don't see how it will ever be possible to do a sequel.
Zeus was way too nice. He didn't even mention the fact that percy had a great big battle in the sky wearing winged shoes. Speaking of the winged shoes, how on earth would Luke be able to steal from the God of Thieves?!
Not to mention the fact that there was no history between Luke and Annabeth and Mr D was left out.
I came out of the Cinema sooooo disappointed. I thought the film was rubbish.

I completely agree. And MR. D is a HUGE part of the book. He sets up like half of what happens in the third book, so if they get that far they're going to have problems.

I am actually treating them as different stories the plot was changed so much. I think it was a good movie if you leave out the fact it was a book. I loved the book too... but I didn't find the movie too disappointing.

The movie was pretty good, but I think I like the book better.

I only read up to the 3rd book and counting and I love it, and no, I didn't see the movie yet, but one of my friends who did say the movie was completely screwed! Like they said it was nothing like the book at all, like they just made a whole different movie and named it Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief lol XD

I hope I don't get bricked for this, but I enjoyed the movie. >> BUT! I've also never read the books, though I do plan to eventually. So, I was in there watching the movie as just that ... a movie alone. And, as a movie, I did enjoy it. And Logan Lerman's a cutie, so ... :]

um well i just read the first book, but it was alot different from the movie. It was screwed up because they took out alot with Ares and Kronos and Luke plus the water park ride which was pretty funny they cut out alot for the movie.
