The Secret Of Kells

I've just recently stumbled with this animated feature and i was amazed with it. It's titled "The secret ok Kells" and it's one of the most amazing films i've seen in the last years. The animation and the art is just beautyfull, and i can only hope for other animation companies to take this as an example.

The film is an Irish-French-Belgian coproduction. Directed by Tomm Moore and writen by Fabrice Ziolkowski (screenplay) and Tomm Moore (story). The soundtrack is made by Bruno Coulais, who had amazed me not so long ago with the music he composed for Coraline.

I strongly recommend you all to watch this film.

I just saw this with my boyfriend last month! I don't know how he heard of it, but he downloaded it and we watched it one night. It was the absolute perfect film for the both of us, as he's a Trad Catholic and I'm a Celtic Reconstructionist Pagan. We both enjoyed this thouroughly, albeit for different reasons. The art style was amazing and I loved how it stayed true to the Celtic root while not constantly looking like the opening pottery scene from Hercules. The music was awesome too, and I like how it very gently portrayed the determination of both the Pagan and Catholic religions to endure. I noticed the distinction at first, but I also noticed that as the story progressed, the lines between the two faiths began to blur, and it was proof that they can, in fact, co-exist (as if 11 months of my boyfriend and I putting up with each other's oddities isn't).
