Invader ZIM!

Invader ZIM is one of my favorite shows. It's definitely funny and entertaining. I really enjoy it, and since it's popular I'm sure there's some fans of it here. I wish it still got new episodes, it deserved more.

Yes, it did deserve more. But they are showing it now on Nicktoons, if Flink's not mistaken.

Her nephew, who's five, recently got into the show.

Yep yep, I've been watching it on nicktoons. They play a lot of episodes, especially on Saturdays. That's cool that her nephew likes the show too. My two younger sisters enjoy watching the show with me.

I totally own the box set, this show is fantastic! I really love the episode when Zim crash's his ship and ends up trying to take it back from crazy people with tin saucer hats! The bee song was totally awesome...

Oh how I miss that show. I like some of the kids cartoons they have now but they still can't compare to Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Lab, Angry Beavers, and such. Including Invader Zim, Gir, you will always have a place in my heart.

I love Invader Zim. I used to sing the Doom song all the time, even in class, it was classic seeing my teachers faces when i would start singing. Gir would have to be my all time favorite character from the show, Gaz is my second fave.

Invader Zim is the first show I actually got into the online fandom for! XD It's been a classic fave since it was new almost a decade ago (wow, it has really been so long!!). I remember the 'good old days' when you never could be sure whether it would be on Nick when it was supposed to be, when there were only five episodes and they kept rerunning them, when some new eps came out but I had no TV at college so I had to try to download them online...oh the adventures.

I still love IZ for its manic energy and for its unapologetic weirdness. It is strange and 'random' without feeling forced or 'extreeeeeeme!' like so many cartoons do these days. Every character is messed up somehow, many are pretty dang vicious (albeit incompetent), and we sure as heck aren't supposed to learn any touchy-feely lessons from them. And the plots, characters, and dialogue are so much more creative and unpredictable than any other cartoon I've seen recently. Plus, what a wicked awesome art style! And finally, I mean, Irkens. Come on. Best evil empire-building aliens ever.

Ah, I remember Ivader Zim. I bought the boxset about a year ago. A fantastic series. I remember being so sad when it ended.

Watching it now, vs when I was a child, I see all the things that I didn't even notice prior. How warped it was, how strange and oddly violent (for us this wasn't a huge deal, now we have to be all "censored") I loved the twisted characters and subplots, as well as the development. I also loved reading his previous work, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, as seeing how much of that influenced Invader Zim.

Hehe, I own all the episodes. I still remember the night it premiered - didn't Fairly Oddparents show the same night? I adored both of them though. I love ZIM's overdramaticness, it makes the show for me. Sometimes GIR annoyed me when his randomness.. well, was too random. Ah well, he's still a cutie.

"I was the turkey all along!" "I wondered what that turkey was doing there."

I love this show.
