Nickleodeon continuing Old 90's cartoons

Nickelodeon To Bring Back Old Cartoons [PIC]

Rocket Power, Rugrats, Angry Beavers, Doug, Hey Arnold... And more! I don't know what to make of it.

What do you make of it? And what show would you look forward to the most? (INVADER ZIM)

PaintTheSkyRed 03-02-2011 07:50 AM

I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited. You have no idea! I think if that really happens I would be the happiest cartoon fan alive.

I would be most excited for Rugrats and Rocket Power. And Hey Arnold. And Doug. All of them really!

Mystic 03-02-2011 09:49 PM

The Jungle Movie for Hey Arnold would be awesome if they actually got the original writers to write it and went with the original story line. There's so much that they could do with the series after the episode "The Journal".

Disney's Doug wasn't too bad but it wasn't nearly as good as Nick's version so I wouldn't like to see that series done again. Ren and Stimpy had an "adult" version of it. It was severely lacking and I didn't care too much for it. I think that's another show that's best left as is.

The more I think about it, the more I think that unles they get he same writers as the originals they should just leave the series alone.

Hm... I don't think this is true though. From what I read online, this has been floating around for "years".

I found a link from a high school news paper: here

Anyways as to bringing back the classics; sure why not, but it wouldn't be the same without the same voice actors and writers. :( I think Hey Arnold was canceled or something due to the creator's ambition to air a show on Cartoon Network. That plot failed and I don't know where he has been ever since. :S

Fabulous! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!! Ohmigosh! So excited for this XD. *crosses fingers that Disney follows suit*

Artemis12 03-04-2011 04:00 AM

I really doubt this is true. If it was that probably actually have promotions for it on the actual network. Though I'd love it if they did that or just decided to play reruns of them. I'd like to see Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Ahh Real Monsters, and all the old Snick live action shows like All That, Keenan and Kell, Cousin Skeeter, 100 Good deeds for Eddie Mcdowd.

ElysiumFate 03-04-2011 05:09 AM

I HATE it when networks do this crap. They are just going to ruin the shows. Kids of this generation will not appreciate the shows that kids of my generation grew up on.

EDIT: I just looked it up. This seems to be fake, and a sad joke. The logo used in that picture is also old, so that is reason for doubt as well.

Avatre 03-04-2011 06:15 AM

I honestly would rather spend my money on a DVD set(like I did with the old '80s GI Joe cartoon) and have the old memories on DVD for me to enjoy when I want, not at the time that the broadcaster says they can show it at.

But having said that...I would love for them to re-release Angry Beavers. That was a favorite. But they would have to do it without changing a thing. Also, if they could re-release Biker Mice From Mars without any changes, I would grovevl at their feet for eternity. I miss that show. It was awsome.

plip_gurl 03-04-2011 06:34 AM

same! Invade Zim is the last cartoon from my childhood that I can watch still. Yeah the replaced the good stuff with shit like TUFF Puppy, Mighty B, and Fanboy and Chum Chum. THese cartoons are pointless and stupid. Man I miss when media valued it's viewers mor ethen money. I mean there is nothing from the old days! Spongebob is still there though, but after 2004 they got sh*tty. Same with Cartoon Network. I hey guys remember when Cartoon Network actually was Cartoon Network? Powerpuff Girls? Dexter's Laboratory? Courage the Cowardly Dog? Good old classic POPEYE!?!?!? CARTOON NETWORK IS NOT politically correct? WTF!?!?! It's not called politically correct network IS IT?!?!? COMPLETE BULL SH*T!

Explodey 03-05-2011 11:56 AM

I miss Ren & Stimpy and Rocko's Modern Life.

coconutberry 03-05-2011 08:49 PM

Well, if I can watch them On Demand, that would be cool. It would be nice if they would release them on their website; watching online is really the easiest for me. I really miss the old shows.

Rokurou 03-06-2011 04:02 AM

OMG!!! I would totally love it. These are the cartoons I grew up with. Rugrats, Rocket Power, Roccos Modern Life. All so amazing.
Does anyone remember Face?

PaintTheSkyRed 03-06-2011 04:05 AM

I miss Face. :c "Hey boys and girls! Face here!"

Glitter Golgotha 03-06-2011 08:59 AM

What I'd really love is if they'd start showing re-runs of all those old shows/cartoons. I've noticed that they have been playing "Rugrats" every now and then (though I'm usually not around when it actually comes on), which is great IMO. The only thing I like about Nickelodeon any more is Spongebob.

kittykondos 03-06-2011 07:36 PM

I definitley miss rocket power. Like all the stuff on nickeloden now is just sad. And hey arnold was a good show that encouraages good deeds and what not. He was always doing good things for his community and friends. And teto on rocket power was so hilarious. And all his ancient hawian ways.

eclisping_son 03-06-2011 11:54 PM

They actually are putting them back on March 14th i heard HURRAY! THERE BACK~!
hopefully this rumor i heard is true!(:

Bearzy 03-07-2011 02:36 AM

Rocket Power! That's what it was called, dangit I've been trying to remember for weeks! I loved that show so much, because I could rollerblade, and so I could compare myself to a TV character for the first time. :)

Yosuke Hanamura 03-08-2011 09:58 PM

If it's true then I'll be so excited. But isn't there a Nick Toons channel that shows this stuff already? :s

Sir D . L O Van Lobsters 03-09-2011 06:16 PM

My head would explode with joy if this were true. But alas, it's not.

Projectwolfie 03-12-2011 06:16 PM

I... don't know what to say about this one. If they actually stayed true to the originals this would be mind blowing. However the state of cartoons these days makes me worried for these old shows. We might end up with crap based on the cartoons marketed for the kids of today.

I don't want Angry Beavers turning into something from current Cartoon Network.

Kids these days are so deprived of good tv.

Agent HEY-LEE 03-16-2011 09:58 PM

Wow. o.o
I might just have to start watching Nickelodeon again if they did that.
