Harry Potter?

I'm going to see the last harry potter tomorrow. Has any one else seen it yet? If so is it good?

paramore444 07-16-2011 03:22 AM

My sister saw it in 3D and got these really cool Harry Potter (3D) glasses.

-Enigma 07-16-2011 01:35 PM

I'm -dying- to see that film. I love all things Potter. Sadly, I haven't been paid this month yet and won't have any more money until the 26th, so that's the first opportunity I'll have to see that film. Most of my friends have seen it, and to say that I'm jealous is an understatement. xD

Miss_Muffinz13x 07-16-2011 10:02 PM

I saw Harry Potter the Deathly Hallows part two today. I'm so sad the series is over though. :(

it was really good :)

xXMCRAngel2107Xx 07-16-2011 10:38 PM

I was sad when the book ended. Im not going to see the second part until my friend can get off work to go with me. I promised her

Bearzy 07-18-2011 09:50 AM

I saw it today. I cried through it. My friend laughed... so naturally I punched him. Actually, I only cried when Snape died. Is that wrong? Or am I right in saying that without his love for Lily, Voldemort would have won?

NeuzaKC 07-18-2011 08:26 PM

Dude! Thank you! I cried when Snape died too. I was so surprised at myself, I was like "ahhh, don't cry, it's Snape!" and then I cried. XD But I think it's normal, after all we know he could have been a bitch but he protected Harry ever since he arrived at Hogwarts, and Harry hated him. Even so, Snape protected him until he died. It's quite beautiful in a very sad way.

I also cried when they showed Fred's corpse. I can't get over the fact that the last thing the twins said was "You alright Freedie?" and then pouf, he died. ):

Obviously 07-18-2011 09:34 PM

uh Im not much of a harry potter fan but its not exactly the worst thing ever I mean I don't hate it but I don't like it either to each their own as far as this one goes.

Evicted Element 07-18-2011 10:09 PM

Obviously you need to read the books (and yes, putting the word "obviously" there is indeed a double entendre)

[SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT]
Saw the movie Saturday. Cried when Snape died, when Harry used the resurrection to summon the ghosts of Sirius, Lily, James, and Remus, and when Neville stepped forward to tell Voldemort off. Naturally, I cried at that last bit because it was one of the most epic parts of the movie! XD It's a damn fitting end for the film series, and it's perfect. I may think the book end is better, but the film ending was a real heart wrencher with the way it showed things. I loved the movie from beginning to end! :3

Bearzy 07-18-2011 11:08 PM

I think I'm in love with Neville, ever since his childish little...
Quote:

You lose, army.
And then he stood up to Voldemort and I squeeed.

Obviously 07-18-2011 11:19 PM

ah ive attempted to read one of the books did not like it Im just not a harry potter person lol

Evicted Element 07-19-2011 12:18 AM

Well the movies were kinda bad in the beginning, but all the same they're certainly friendly towards anyone who's not a fan. Even if you hadn't read the books, I still think that for the most part the movies are all good to watch. ^^

SesshysMiko 07-20-2011 03:51 AM

I absolutely loved the movie! I cried quite a bit! I'm going to watch it for a third time pretty soon, I just can't get enough of it.

And now for the in-depth stuff...

SPOILERX

I think...my favorite part was mostly the battling scenes. The beginning of the one at Hogwarts. I especially loved McGonagall in this one, she was awesome. And so was Molly. Haha, "Not my daughter, you bitch!" I'm so glad they didn't leave that part out.

The saddest part was the whole Snape scene...gosh that was heartbreaking. I knew that he loved Lily in the books but to see it...Oh man, really pulled at my heartstrings.

19 YEARS LATER WAS PERFECT!!!! Seriously, I thought they would either leave that part out or totally screw it up. But it was perfect!!! Gosh!

The BEST movie EVER.

CrimsonShadow 07-20-2011 03:58 AM

I've read the book seven times and every single time I've cried through the whole thing lol. On Saturday I went and saw the movie. It was amazing! Like utterly amazing. I cried like a baby through all the sad parts. Especially when he used the stone and all his "parents" came. Gosh...I want to cry just thinking about it lol

Evicted Element 07-20-2011 06:20 AM

S'Okay, Crimson. Most of us feel the same way. :)

MadMustache 07-20-2011 05:06 PM

Harry Potter discussion? I'm in, haha. Saw the movie this past Saturday, and it was great. Don't get me wrong, there were a few things that kind of offed me, but won't get into that here lol

I'm sad that HP is over though now. But at least we have Pottermore to look forward too!

Evicted Element 07-20-2011 07:09 PM

I didn't even know about Pottermore until you mentioned it. Just looked it up, signed up, and watched the vid with Ms. Rowling. Gotta say, now I'm excited about it! x3 Thanks for tipping me off to this Mad!

NeuzaKC 07-20-2011 07:40 PM

Oh yes, Pottermore is going to be a blast! There's a rumour going aroudn that J. K. Rowling herself will be sorting us when Pottermore opens! Considering she designed and graded W.O.M.B.A.T, I'm inclined to believe it's true.

Evicted Element 07-20-2011 07:52 PM

Please let that rumor be truuuuuuue! X3 If so, I'll probably go to Hufflepuff. I'm not brave, all that witty, or truly ambitious, I do things for fun, laughs, and my friends/fellow forum goers. So yeah, Hufflepuff takes in all the rest and I'll probably be with them. :P

NeuzaKC 07-20-2011 07:56 PM

I'm hopefully a Ravenclaw. All the quizzes tell me I'm a Ravenclaw, plus I do possess the common traits. Let's hope Miss Rowling will humour us by putting us where we think we belong. XD

Evicted Element 07-20-2011 10:29 PM

I dunno, would you rather be in a group full of know-it-alls (I'm a know-it-all in rl, but I'm still not really witty, just a real ponderer/philosophical person), a bunch of people who treasure courage and bravery, a dungeon filled with guys who would leave you to die and save their hide while climbing the social ladder, or in a place where everyone is at least loyal, hard-working, and, as shown in the case of Cedric Diggory, a fair player?

Now, granted, Gryffindor actually sounded pretty good there. Slytherin sounded pretty cutthroat, and Ravenclaw is certainly intelligent. But I still think I'd like Hufflepuff, simply because I accept that I'm not brave, but definitely loyal and I try to be fair.

DreamEmpress 07-20-2011 10:56 PM

I thought the movies were up and down, but in truth they did fit the entire series well. Obviously criticism but the last movies did do the book justice. It was thrilling and exciting but not completely drawn out to the point of annoyance (like some movies can be). I enjoyed it.

MadMustache 07-20-2011 11:27 PM

I agree with you there DreamEmpress. Although some of the movies weren't entirely faithful, over all they were enjoyable. Except the third one. That was one I truly did not like. But the other movies made up for it, so it's okay.

@EE: Oh really? I kept seeing it all over Tumblr, so took a look, and it seems awesome. I need to sign up though; it's one thing I keep neglecting to do.

xXMCRAngel2107Xx 07-21-2011 02:34 PM

All the quizzes tell me that im a gryffindor... even when i tried for something else... like slytherin. i hop eim a gryffindor..

-The Half-Blood Princess- 07-21-2011 09:45 PM

I'm going to see it this weekend.

I'm kind of looking forward to it and dreading it at the same time, though. My favorite part of the whole series is going to be in this one, and while I can't wait to see it, I know I'm probably going to end up crying a lot in the theater. (I'll be kind of disappointed in myself if I don't, actually.) I'm worried about whether they'll mess it up very badly, though, since they did certain other parts in the previous movies. (Especially a certain related scene in Order of the Phoenix.)

I'm sure anyone who read the last book probably knows the part I'm referring to.

But anyway, Harry Potter ending is just depressing in the first place! xD
