I found insidious to be......not really all that scary.
I am not usually afraid of horror movies. I LOVE them, but they don't scare me. I do have to admit I moved my TV out of my room the night I watched "The Ring" though. Also, "Darkness Falls" gave me the creeps about the dark for maybe an hour or two. |
When I was little Child's Play scared the crap out of me. I still love the movie for the fact it's a corny 80's horror flick. I don't really get scared much over movies. I do love old horror movies. Like from the 90's and older, even up to the 20's. I love the effects they did without computers and how corny some of them are.
I do admit that Pet Sematary was pretty creepy and messed up. Not too sure if I'd consider it "scary" but more psychological. |
I don't like scary movies, but I made an exception once for my partner. . that I would go to the cinema with him to watch Unborn. I didn't like it one bit and I would never watch a film like that again, it made me jump and couldn't sleep that night. I've seen Paranormal Activity and I didn't find that scary. |
When I was younger, I watched "The Blair Witch Project" at night, with the lights off, in my room alone. That scared me so much I ran across the hall to the washroom when I couldn't hold it anymore. I almost wet myself because of that movie.
Now, it's not the actual movie, but the ending of "The Forth Kind" scares me, when they pause the tape and the therapist is all distorted and wavy. I found the movie okay, but not scary. The only part that caught me off guard the first time watching it, was when they show the "real footage" of the UFO passing over the house. Now, if you do any amount of research, just like the Blair Witch Project, it's presented it as "real" and it really isn't. |
I absolutely love scary movies/horror films. <3 |
i do nto watch scary movies that much, becuz i dont really like them,
but the scariest one i did see is pet cemetary, we had to watch it in class during helloween in grade 10 your u a kpop fan??? then come droop by my thread called allkpop where we talk about allkpop...lol :) every week there would be a new discussion question posted up :) |
The Ring was horrifying. I mean, scary movies don't normally bother me... But WTF?!
|
Its between Dolls and Paranormal Activity. Dolls scared me because the dolls were mutilating people and they were dolls. Paranormal Activity scared me because I have always had a huge fear of being asleep and having my feet grabbed, and when that happened in the movie I was so freaked out.

When people ask me this question i usually answer The Omen (the original 1976 one ofc.) I don't really know why other than for some reason it really scared the shit out of me. Ive seen other really scary movies and been so scared that I cried. But the memory of how scared I was when I watched this one for the first time is scarier than it all.
I was really scared when I saw the Ring for the first time too. And i just realised something! Both of these movies I saw with big crowds of friends. Especially when I saw the ring, the people I saw it with got really hyped up and we were alone in a house. And one person had even got his brother to call when the movie was over to scare the rest of us. |
Aliens scared the hell out of me and then some. Creepiest smiles out of living things since the Joker.
|
I wish I remembered the name of the movie, it just now slipped my mind. I'm not a big fan of movies that make you shit your pants, so... I don't know, but basically, the movie I saw was about this murderer who would lure people into his house and set them in these really horrific torture scenes. All of it would be on a live stream, and the more views the stream had, the quicker the victim reached their death. The guy started out with animals in traps and it just got progressively worse (though I won't lie, I felt worse for the animals). |
These days I just don't watch horror, watched a few horror movies growing up but most of them just made me jump at times. Not so much scare me as a result of the overall story or themes. And that includes movies like 13 ghosts, The Blair Witch Project and Final Destination.
So this is going to sound lame but the only movie I've watched that scared me was The Witches based on the book by Roald Dahl. I was young when I watched it and though the costumes for the witches would be considered lame in this day and age at that time they were probably close to 'state of the art'. So the image of the main witch gave me nightmares that night. |
I don't remember any horror films scaring me in a jumpy way, but a lot have grossed me out and a couple have freaked me out to the extent that I refused to sleep.
The most freaky horror film was probably the 2007 film Freakshow. . . It apparently got banned in most countries, but mine decides to show it on TV instead. The film was rubbish from what I can remember, but the last scene and the music freaked me out so badly. Seriously, you can find the trailer on youtube, that is basically the whole bad parts of the film in one minute, including the music. |

Dead Silence. ;-;

So far I've found 2 movies that scared the cr*p out of me.
The first one is The Crazies. F*ck! I think it was the fact that the zombies just came with ease compared to any other zombie movie where you're thrust into the fact theres zombies. I saw it with my bf, my older brother and his gf at the time, and I had to spend the night at my bf's because I was not sleeping alone. And I don't scare easily. The second was The Orphan. It didn't scare the bajeebies out of me, but more of scared me out of a few ideas. Considering, since I was a kid, I planned on adopting instead of having biological kids, the whole urban legend behind the movie didn't scare me as much worry me. |
I can't quite say the 'scariest' but the best I have seen would have to be Halloween (The Original John Carpenter version).
A really messed up Japanese movie/ short series I have seen was Higurashi when they cry (It was an anime). Not really scary but REALLY messed up. Like the starting scene of one episode was a girl headbutting a knife and laughing while her little sister watched. |

The scariest movie I saw was probably Paranormal Activity...there are also a lot of foreign horror movies I've seen, but I can't remember the names... |

------ The movie IT scared the crap out of me. And The Ring bothered me immensely. For a month I could stand having a TV in my room. Invasion of the Body snatchers bugged me when I was young XD |
Hm...let's see...I don't remember the last time a movie scared me for I really enjoy them. But a movie that makes me jump every time because I forget about certain scenes would be the Hills have Eyes and maybe a few other movies too that I forget about but I still like them
|
The first Resident Evil movie when it first came out when I was a pansy, scared the shit out of me! I was paranoid for months after that, afraid that zombies would pop out of the sewers. But now that movie makes me laugh.
Scariest movie of all time would be...IDK I want to say Signs? For some friggin reason thats the movie that creeps me out the most. I can stand and like a lot of other movies. Best scary movie is def Rose Red though! |
i can honestly say, i've never seen a scary film because films arn't scary.. horrors make me laugh or bore me to death... remakes are the worst.
|
The English version of 'The Grudge' really got me good. I know the Japanese version is said to be a lot scarier, however... I'm avoiding that and every other new horror/thriller movie out there. Can't handle them.
Older horror/thriller movies, however, are quite good and much milder. |
I always get disappointing because I never get scared while watching movies, but none of my friends like "scary" movies (because they scare them). Usually I can drag someone along if I promise to do witty commentary to distract from all the scares. Other than that I'm on my own. :c
