list & Discuss those classic actors you loved!
I have been going down memory lane here lately. I just realized that Actors and actresses are not like they used to be. Back in the day comedians good make me laugh without vulgarity or profanity. Horror directors could scare me without the blood and gore. Dramas were written so eloquently with words and phrases like
'' No dame you are most definitely a skirt" . Anyhow I wanted to post a list of some of my classic favorite actors to see if anyone else remembers them as I do. You are free to post actors , directors , writers , producers. Whomever you would like I want to hear all about it so let the listing begin. Actors Red Skelton Andy Kauffman Larual & Hardy Abbot & Costello Gene Wilder Vincent Price Directors Alfred Hitchcock So That is the main ones i miss the most. I am sure i will come up with many more in the future. I will post the reasons why i miss these people but first i want to hear your thoughts and opinions of them first. Why ? Well I am not even sure if anyone else will even know who they are and or what they did. Let alone what they were famous for. |
Orson Welles.
And taking a ride in the way-back machine, Sarah Bernhardt. |
Oh wow thank you for taking me back biggles . I agree for both of those for so many reason and thank you for at least giving me one post other than my own.
|
Vincent Price and Bela Lugosi. *bows* 2 of the Greatest Horror Film actors in history. Ye shall never be forgotten.
|
Clark Gable is my man. Ahhh, seeing him in Gone With the Wind always makes me purr, but I do like his other movies, too. Audrey Hepburn makes my day, too, especially in My Fair Lady.
|
Speaking of My Fair Lady, Jeremy Brett. What an elegant dish of a man.
|
Hehehe. He played Sherlock Holmes for awhile <3. I loved him in that role, and he's still the epitome of Sherlock to me.
|
Same! I think that was when he was at his best, personally. I do like older men. And Sherlock Holmes. Everything there working in my favour

Everyone's listed some excellent actors.
Some of my favorites (That haven't been listed yet) would have to be: Buster Keaton, Charles Chaplain, Lucille Ball, Judy Garland, Cary Grant, Bette Davis, Marilyn Monroe, Kathrine Hepburn, Errol Flynn, Gene Kelly... I could be here for a while. I just really love the Golden Age of Hollywood. |
I saw a movie called North to Alaska with John Wayne, but it also had Ernie Kovacs in it playing a crook. He was completely crazy, almost like he belonged in another movie. Really out there. Almost like Andy Kaufman from what I have seen of him. I guess I'm a fan of crazies. I never would have known anything about him if I hadn't seen that movie and googled.
|
google is your friend ha and i am also a sucker for the golden years of hollywood. Quite a few more awesome actors listed that had not even crossed my mind in awhile now i am all excited to go dig up some old school movies to watch than you all so very much.

I think one of my favourite classic actresses is Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins. I recently saw a repeat of Singin' in the Rain on TV and that was just as good as ever...Gene Kelly's dancing in those days was amazing.
