No one has posted about The Hobbit movie yet? It's coming out this year you guys! Don't you realize that?! So, let's talk about it. You hopes for the movie/s? Your worries?
So, I'm super excited about this movie. Starting around the age of 5, my Da' began reading the book to my brother and I at bedtime. It's my favorite book and one that I've reread over and over again. Watching it will be like having my childhood come to life, where The Hobbit played a pretty big role in how wild my imagination got.
The music sounds beautiful already. I'm always excited for more of Howard, so I know he won't disappoint this time.
The one thing I am worried about.. Legolas and Galadriel are in the movies? They weren't in the books, so I'm wondering how the heck they're going to put those two characters in. (Spoiler for those of you who don't know the plot)
SPOILERX
Legolas is from Merkwood, so I can see him having a cameo, but that's about it.
Also, splitting the movie into two parts. I'm wondering how exactly they're going to split it up.
Your thoughts. I'd like more people to nerd out with.
Super excited for this movie from the beginning, then got even more excited when I heard that Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman were in it. :squee:
I'm really not sure about the elves either.... But I think they'll make the split on the river journey to lake town. It makes sense to me.
i know i catn wait, im just waiting for the tickets to the midnight go on sale!XD this is going to be a good year for movies supposedly the 3rd hellboy movies is going to be coming out too!^-^
i praise guillermo for his hard work at making both movies!
lol smaug is sherlock holmes........
i am disappointed at the splitting of the movie but then again, if it make it good and he did a good enough job im okay with the split i just hope the other half comes out next year...
honestly I don't care what they do to it. Anything is better than the 80's psycodelic acid trip! *dances around happily* I can't wait for this to come out! I must see it.
I grew up with Toilken so for me this is just great.
Well, apparently everyone knows that Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are in it, so it's gonna be a big hit with the Sherlockians as well as the LOTR fandom.
Sora is both, so he really can't wait! It'll be the big movie after the Avenger fandom calms down. XDD
The Hobbit has been my reason for living all year. I was kind of broken when Harry Potter ended entirely (well... there's Pottermore, which I'm loving) but then, I heard the Hobbit would be coming out and life had meaning again! All I do in my free time now is re-watch and reread anything Tolkien... and LOTR monopoly.
I'm quite looking forward to it, mostly because i never got to see any of the LOTR at the cinema. I had a rather heated debate with my boyfriend about how i didn't think enough happened to merit splitting it into two (which he fervently disagreed with), but at least it spreads it out a bit and reassures that nothing will be really rushed through.
This promises to be an amazing film - I'm quite looking forward to it. The Hobbit was the first book I read in the LOTR-verse, and I am eager to see this film on the big screen!
Ahhh. It's coming out in November this year! I've been following the blog and the production videos. I'm so glad that production is over with so that they can start on editing all of the shots. I'm such a Peter Jackson fan. It would be so cool to work on his production staff for Part 2 coming out in 2013!
I'm pretty excited for the movie! But now that they've announced it'll be in three parts... I'm a bit worried about that. The book is just barely 300 pages, and not in a small type either, so I'm not sure how they're going to stretch that out to be over three movies... I'll reserve final judgement until I see it, of course, but it seems unnecessary.
I am going for a midnight showing December 14th.... this is pure epicness in all its glory... Pete Jackson is a demigod for all I'm concerned many thanks to him and new line cinema... i'm glad they got the pay dispute settled so peter can return to doing what he does best!! This made me so happy when I first heard about I almost screamed as loud as I could when I found out online a while back.
I'm looking forward to it, even though I never get to see movies until a couple weeks after they premiere (mainly due to wanting to avoid huge crowds at the theater).
I just read an article today where accussations against the filming company were made about farm animals dying on what they called dangerous sets that involved sink holes. A statement was made from Peter Jackson's company, but until the facts are laid out I'm going reserve any judgement for his company as I am a fan of his movies-- I don't think the mal treatment of animals would be tolerated.
They said one of the first casualties was a small pony named Rainbow.
there are SO many amazing movies coming out lately. I'm really looking forward to this one in particular. If it does even half as well as LOtR did then it'll be a hit.
