Drunk History

As a historian, I have a deep appreciation for this show. In grad school, I spent many a night in the local bars with my professors and classmates, babbling on about Charles II and the Haymarket Riots.

For those who don't know: The show gets actors and historians completely hammered and then asks them to tell famous stories throughout history. The director then takes that narration and turns it into a script where famous actors portray the scene exactly how it was described. The result is a thing of absolute beauty.

The best part is that the show doesn't cover stories that are very well-known. The first episode features a story about John Wilkes Booth (played by Adam Scott!), but it primarily focuses on his relationship with his brother. A later episode covers the story of how Stetson Kennedy used the Superman radio show to attack the KKK. It's filled with great little anecdotes that the average viewer wouldn't be familiar with, all while making me literally laugh out loud.

Anyone else a fan?

I've only seen one episode which was the Nikola Tesla one because Crispin Glover played Thomas Edison. It was HILARIOUS! Legit made me cry with laughter. It actually taught me something that I never learnt in school so I guess that's good too?
Despite it being great I haven't been bothered to watch any others. :<
**Just realised that there are two "Drunk History" shows, haha. I'm referring to the funny or die's version.

The Funny or Die version is the original. Comedy Central loved it so much that they asked Derek Waters to produce an actual tv version of the series. [yes]

Oh! That's so cool. I'm glad it went far, it deserves it!

I feel like the webseries was better, but the series has some good moments. Like the time the girl (whatever her name is. She's always been my favourite) starts crying because people visit jim morrison's grave and not her subject's one. Always been a little irked it's limited to American history, but I don't know if I would like how they would do world history so -shrugs-
