Insurgent

3/10

Over all the acting is deadpan acting, the only only exception being Kate Winslet, who delivered a powerful performance, setting her character apart form every one note character in the movie.

What saves this movie from a score of 2 or 0, is two three fold, one is Kate Winslet, two is the cinematography, and three is that that there is a story and there is something at stack. The thing is, is that over all the only reason that I cared about the story it is because I wanted to see what Kate Winslet's charterer would do next.

With any movie I think its a very bad sign, when you could swap one character out for another, because they are so alike that they blended together. Over all I would say if you liked the first movie, you will probably like this one, but otherwise you might want to read the books and skip the movies.

Night at the Museum 3: Secret of the Tomb. I give it a 5/5 star rating because Night at the Museum is life. <3

hmmm, the last movie I watched was Lucy.' After seeing the previews didn't expect much, but I was pleasantly surprised by a movie bereft of the usual clichés and stereotypes. my only disappointment with the film was that ,in my opinion, the ending was a bit predictable. but all in all it was a great watch. I give it an eight out of ten

I last saw the Lazarus Effect. My Sprite, popcorn, and ice cream dots were good.

Rvaya 04-11-2015 04:38 PM

Fast and the Furious 7, not as good as some of the old ones but still better than the 2nd one :p My only beef is that you hardly know these movies are about car drivers anymore. It's just so much action that if you would have told me it was something like Mission Impossible that would have worked too.

Feels like they missed their heart a bit in this most recent one. But still, explosions and stuff so okay.

I saw Mr. Peabody and Sherman. I did NOT like it. It was just too much of the same old tropes while using offensive things for humor. -1/10, would not watch again unless tied to an atomic bomb.

I just saw American Sniper tonight. In the Armed Services Recruiting Center, I remember Chris Kyle telling the Navy recruiter that he was not a quitter. Let's not forget that he quit being a cowboy to become a Navy Seal. Now, would I have pointed that out to Chris Kyle while he was alive?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! No.

I did enjoy the movie and afterwards it caused me to rethink my purpose in life what with Kyle's family situation and four tours in Iraq.

It's too bad he died the way he did, but he was living a re-purposed life in that he was helping his fellow brothers-in-arms readapt to civilian life.

Chris Kyle was a man among men and a tried and true patriot.

Carnival of Souls (1962) 8/10

A women is found wondering on the beach after her car goes off the rode and into a lake. During the movie she seems to be losing her mind and even believes that she dose belong in the world.

I am not sure what else to say about the movie with out giving too much away. As it is the movie is in the public domain.

Avengers Age of Ultron - 4/5

Michy Lea 05-05-2015 04:02 AM

My husband and I watched Furious 7 tonight. It was okay. I'd say maybe a 4/5. A lot of the stunts were too crazy to believe, and I wasn't really that interested, considering I haven't seen movies 4 through 6. The ending of the movie was nice with Dom's narration.

LunaDollDx 05-13-2015 02:36 AM

Finding nemo. 10/10 just because nemo is adorable.

Last night, I watched two movies. The first one was The Thing Called Love. It is one of my favorites. I give it a 5/5. I have no problem re-watching it time after time. The second movie was The Boxtrolls. It was really cute. I would definitely play it for my niece and nephew. It sort of reminded me of the minions from Despicable Me. It did have some twists that were sort of unexpected. I would give it a 5/5 as well.

Devil's Pass. I believe I gave it a 3/5 on Netflix, which is like saying "I liked it." It was a horror movie and came across as being pretty indie, but the production quality was pretty high. I feel like the ending kinda fell out of place a bit; it was a good idea, and mostly handled well, but not as well as it could have been, I think. I'd watch it again.

I watched two movies last night. The first movie I watched was The Rewrite with Hugh Grant and Marisa Tomei. I liked it. It did make me laugh. Was pretty much a typical Hugh Grant romantic comedy. I would give it a 4/5 because it seemed a bit unfinished. The second movie I watched was Big Hero 6. It had me on the brink of tears at a couple spots. I'd give it a 4/5 as well just because I didn't like the characters who died having to die. But it was a great movie.

Ava The Vampire 05-23-2015 05:25 AM

The last movie I saw was Muppets: Most Wanted.
And I thought it was brilliant. It was funny in the right spots, but had enough pathos and seriousness in the right spots too so that it didn't feel like watching a movie purely made for kids.
I'd give it a 5/5

Plus Tom Hiddleston, man...

Tink05 05-23-2015 05:52 AM

I just rented The Wedding Ringer. It was a decent comedy. Over all I gave it a 3.5/5.

Last night, my husband and I watched two movies. The first movie was Age of Adaline. I'd give it 5/5 stars. It was great. I really enjoyed how the story progressed. It wasn't predictable. I liked the curve balls they threw in there. And the ending was perfect.

The second movie we watched as Fifty Shades of Grey. I'd give it 3/5 stars. The beginning was kind of funny. The sexual scenes were not as bad as I expected from other people's reviews of the movie. However, the story did seem to drag on. I ended up falling asleep for about 10 minutes of the movie near the end.

i watched the fifth element with my friends for movie club!! its so amazing, i love the characters and the production value is just beautiful. like have you seen the costumes?? 100%. i must admit everything regarding the element temple couldve been a lot better, but overall i give it a 5/5!!

also, multipass.

I think the last movie I saw was Jurassic World when that first came out. I enjoyed it for the most part, didn't like seeing it three times so close together though haha. It definitely looked better 3D versus the bootleg and digital cinema versions...and I usually dislike 3D. I think the ending was my favorite part of the movie. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet. I give the movie a 4.5/5

VixieMooCow 08-27-2015 06:47 PM

the last film I watched was Robert The Doll (simply called "Robert" on the DVD)....
overall I give it 2/10.
*they put zero effort into this film.
*even though Robert is a real thing its like they didn't even bother researching what actually happened.
*the doll itself looks terrible.
*why were they british?

the 2 out of 10 is just because of the name "Robert" relating to the doll...

anyone who knows the actual story and what happened will be shocked and appauled by this garbage film.

Me Earl and the dying girl! 10/10!

Nephila 09-16-2015 02:26 AM

I need to start coming to this thread more often. I tend to have movies play in the background while I'm working. If they're interesting I'll watch them again. These were the ones I watched again:

Last week:

Strange Magic- By LucasArts
rated g - family & Animated

This was a beautiful and I feel underrated 3D animation film. I remember seeing previews for it in theaters and thinking ..."Seriously George? NO. I'll stick with pixar/dreamworks." However since it's arrival on netflicks this month I've watched it six times over. And now I have to admit I was wrong about it. [illgetu] The characters are lovable and well designed. The Bog King was cute IMO. And I like that it was able to take inspiration from Midsummer Nights Dream while being something completely different. The details that go on in the background of the scenes are worth watching a third or forth time for anyone interested in art. Oh and cute singing, can't forget the cute singing.

5/5 [heart]

Extinction
rated 14A - horror, action, adventure

Well first off this was one of those follow the people with camera Mock Documentary type films. And don't know why but I like that genre of horror. Most people are over it at this point. Basically a group of scientists are in the South American jungles and are searching for new species. Starts out slow. Then BANG goes full on Jurassic park. However it wasn't a very convincing creature. The Dinosaur was poorly lite for the entirety movie and was very obviously a puppet with one or two static looks. The acting was surprisingly good and the wound make-up was excellent. I didn't have the feeling of wanting any of the people to die like I usually do in survival horror (normally there's that one jacka..) The characters were actually likable and tried working together. I might watch it again because...I enjoy the sounds of chaos in the bg. RRAR! XD

3/5

Area 51
rated 14A - horror, action, adventure

Yes another documentary horror. XD Lots of lucky coincidences in this film that push the "story" in the first hour. The awesome aliens made it worth it for me. I like how they did research into the most recent of crazy Conspiracies to base the film off. This story was going around on my "crazies" forum 5 years ago with a similar plot and people involved. Either they had a crazy good PR team or are basing it off what those people were saying. The ending left me wanting more.

4/5 ...most people would say 2 I just like the familiarity in it and sometimes in this genre bad acting makes it better. I don't know why. I guess cuz some of it is funny when it shouldn't be? Bah! I'm a strange kid.

Hmm maybe that's why I like the documentary style type of horror flicks. It's familiar enough but there is still lots of room for variation. *shrugs*
