potc 3 *feels so unoriginal*

maybe 7/10. or 8, extra point for the soundtrack.

Morien 06-21-2007 02:26 AM

Ella Enchanted. And it gets a solid F. Or a 0/10

Reasons:
- took the main concept of a book and then ignored the rest of the novel
- poor acting
- terrible makeup and costumes
- very forgettable music
- bad, meaningless re-writing of a meaningful ending

last movie i saw was the bridge to terebethia. it was really cute. i didnt know it when i rented it but i already knew the story. i guess i had read it forever and a day ago in school, but i dont remember doing so. in any case i really liked it even if it didnt follow what my memories say it shoudl have by the book. it gets 8.5 chocolate stars (:

Chocolate Milk 06-22-2007 04:24 AM

Okay, I know I already posted, but I have to say that I was pretty disappointed by Rise of the Silver Surfer. I saw it yesterday and I really wish I had kept my seven dollars. Now I wish I had snuck into Pirates 3 just to get my money's worth.
2/10 for the following reasons:

1. Jessica Alba in general made the movie suck. Quit flirting with the Surfer, you whore. The only reason he revived you was because you happened to look like his girlfriend. :x
2. Galactus is a CLOUD, for Ra's sake. A CLOUD! I mean, what the fxck?
3. Dr. Doom's cheesy "OMG SILVER SURFER LET'S TEAM UP AND BE LIKE UNSTOPPABLE AND STUFF."

The only reason I gave it two points at all were for the moments of pure dancing happiness when Alba got stabbed. If only she had STAYED DEAD! *glares at the Surfer*

Last movie I saw Hot Fuzz. Rating I give it 8. Very hilarious but I like Shawn of the Dead way better. Good plot funny bout the whole police thing it was hilarious! But Shawn of the Dead was better.

Parasite 06-22-2007 09:23 PM

The last movie I saw was Shrek 3. I've seen all the Shrek movies and out of them, I'd say this one truly deserves 5 stars.

Flying Wings 06-22-2007 10:28 PM

Just Like Heaven! It's not new but it's awsome! >w> I mean pure genius! I give it a 10!

Knight Of Night 06-23-2007 02:41 AM

last movie i saw was Tenacious D and the pick of destiny. i would give it 5 stars, but thats just me.

Last movie in THEATERS I saw was Pirates of the Caribbean 3. But just today, I saw City of Angels with Nicholas Cage and Meg Ryan. It made me bawl my eyes out, but I guess I cry at nearly every movie. That's just me -- overly-sentimental.

As for ratings, I'd give Pirates a 5 / 5 stars just because it was amazing, like the previous two. Couldn't expect better. Totally amazing films. And City of Angels would have to receive a 5 / 5 stars as well simply because it made my heart wrench in sadness. <3

I just watched the remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

I didn't really like it overall. Johny Depp did well with the role, but I don't think he was the right casting. The musical moments with the Ooppa Looppas got tedious really quickly. The ending was…ugh. I'm a sappy person, but that ending annoyed me.

My rating: 2.5/5

:(

spiderman...

Shrek 3...

1/10. :(

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Rating: four stars

There's lots of hoopla (mostly in the kingdom of comic collectors and what have you ^_^ which yes I belong to but no, I'm not that... fan-atic) about this one. Frankly I had a good time seeing it. ^_^ I think the surfer is totally worth any oddities of storyline, etc. :D

Zweres 06-26-2007 01:00 AM

Rise of the Silver Surfer, however, I liked the funny aspects to it, however, some parts were really unneeded. 8/10

Aliena 06-26-2007 03:08 AM

It's funny because I'm always like a year or so behind on movies I see!

Just finished watching Lady in the Water and what an incredible movie! I give it 9.75/10. I absolutely loved the tale, loved the musical score, loved the characters and the roles they played within the fairytale. I had heard such criticism about this movie, but I guess I must be weird or something because I found the storytelling to be absolutely incredible, as always, from M. Night. I like how he always inserts himself into a character role in his movies too.

Wonderful, wonderful story! I want the soundtrack now!

Last movie I saw was just a few minutes ago:
Bridget Jones Diary.
God I love this movie XD I have seen it before already, like 2 years ago.
I was living on my own, had no television and it came on TV on one of these
chanals that you can just get but you get alot of snow.
And my boyfriend just called while I was watching. We just met and such and
talked the whole movie actualy. In the end he asked what I was doing and I
said "Watching Bridged Jones Diary on television" and he said "oh god you
just should have told me cause I am watching too and if I knew I could just
have let you watch it"
Blahblahblah yada yada yada, and then blabla >>
ok stfu elwing.
Anyways I love the movie, I loved the childish fight in the end of those 2 guys XD
like "kick, miss, kick miss" XD

I'm gonna watch the 2nd one soon too, I hope it is good too.

Last movie I saw was Holes. I'd give it a 7/10 for being a rather accurate rendition of the book and the music was pretty good as well.

Morien 06-28-2007 11:57 PM

Phantom of the Opera-- Robert Englund version

3/10
Hardly followed the book at all. But for once, the Phantom was correctly portrayed as an evil entity, not a dramatic hero. So there's a slight upside. The makeup was pretty well done, too. So that's a plus. And the opera was nice.

  • Ghost Rider

    4/10

Definitely not a favorite of mine, in fact I'm sure I'll probably never watch it again, even though it's sitting on my shelf. I expect it to collect quite a bit of dust. Never read the comic so I can't compare the two, but rather comment on the plot. It was pretty dull and I kept waiting for some spectacular plot thickening...but it was rather a very watered down chicken noodle soup with small chunks of good special effects. :/
Good idea, poorly thought out [sorry if I'm dissing the comic as well].

Archlust 06-29-2007 02:11 AM

The 300

It was great, great plot, great acting. I have no complaints at all.
Five stars or more, one of the greatest.

Caranfirithwen 06-29-2007 04:31 AM

Pirates of the Caribbean 3...I'd give it a 9/10. I liked it, even though I know there were some people who didn't understand it for some reason.

Jennifer 06-29-2007 04:58 PM

  • Cinderella Man. Watched it on DVD last night for the first time. xD It was a great movie and I rate it a 10/10. D< <33

Chocolate Milk 06-29-2007 08:51 PM

I saw 1408 a few days ago. I give it 8.5/10, because there was great suspence and horror. It reminded me of Twilight Zone meets 28 Days Later and Silent Hill 4. :]

Man 06-30-2007 01:33 AM

Evan Almighty- 2.5 stars

I just thought it moved too quickly--I mean, like how Evan was suddenly casted as "Noah." There were so humerous parts. Not that bad of a movie, but it certainly wasn't worth the money I paid to watch it. Fukn theatre prices keep raising. :/

EbilKitty 06-30-2007 09:48 PM

Pirates of the Caribbean 3.

I'd give it 7/10, not the most amazing movie and obviously something that was written purely to make money from the success following the first movie. But hey, I'll watch anything with Johnny Depp ;)
