I recently watched Ponyo again on netflix. It's so adorable. I'd rate it five out of five, definitely. :D

Watched The Tourist today with my family. I'm actually quite surprised that it wasn't as serious as I thought it was going to be (plus they used "Starlight" by Muse in the credits). I'd give it an 8.5 out of 10.

The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut: 10/10

Amazing animation, story, characters really everything about it is mind blowing, the animation is amazing for its time and it took 30 years to make the movie, too bad they ruined it by cutting out scenes and adding songs... I don't mind musicals but it doesn't work well with this movie.

Despicable Me

9/10

A bit rushed, but so ADORABLE!

Volt_Krueger 12-20-2010 11:56 PM

Faster. Its a 5/5. At first I thought it was going to be horrible but when I was waiting for another movie to start I snuck in that movie and it was amazing

Lions 12-30-2010 09:35 AM

Just watched the Book of Eli. MY GOD I LOVED THAT ENDING. 9/10 just because of some... unrealistic things. XD

Amethyst Lavenlight 01-01-2011 06:50 AM

I just saw Black Swan. I absolutely loved it. I've never seen any movie like it, but my stepdad says it's more like European movies (very artistic and deep and such). I got so attached to the main character and her story that I actually cried at the end. I give it a 9/10. The only thing that bothered me was the extreme sexuality...and being right next to my stepdad while watching it. o.o

I TOTALLY EMPATHIZE WITH YOU. Not the same movie, but yea. It's way weird.

I just saw True Grit today, though. It was a lot better than the old John Wayne version, imho, even though the older one was truer to the book. I think it's because the actress didn't irritate the hell out of me. Jeff Bridges was an EXCELLENT Rooster Cogburn. Definitely funny, and very entertaining. I'd give it a 4/5. :pirate:

★★★★☆

A few days ago I went with my boyfriend, my friend and her boyfriend to the cinema and we saw Megamind. I loved that movie, maybe not the biggest achievement of cinematography and animation, but the main character was so lovable and his facial expressions were so cute. The soundtrack also ruled~ I'd definitely recommend this movie to people who like animated features.

A Goofy Movie: 9/10

An underrated Disney classic!

Demoncat 01-08-2011 03:12 PM

Hunchback of Notre-Dame, 9.5/10. One of my favorite Disney movies, the characters are awesome, the Art is awesome and the music is awesome~

Twilight: Eclipse

I thought after New Moon it could never be as bad, but I was wrong. Equally as bad, perhaps even worse than that. Not even a moment of 'so bad it's good', just plain awful at every turn. I give 0.5/5. The 0.5 is for successfully recording motion and audio onto film.

You know, when I watched the first Twilight (to see how just how bad it was) I considered it one of the worst movies I'd ever seen. After watching New Moon and Eclipse though, I think I would actually look forward to watching Twilight again.

I watched The American last night...isnt that great of an action movie. And George Clooney isnt really an action star, he just does better with Romantic-comedies like Up In The Air. I give it a 5/10.

chronic_heartbreak14 01-12-2011 07:28 AM

I think the last movie I saw was Twilight Saga: Eclipse. It was crappy to say the least, but at most i'd give it a 6/10. The movies just don't seem to have the enticement the books- and even they were poorly written.

miss_afi 01-13-2011 06:46 AM

The last movie I saw was The New Daughter. I would give it...a 2/5. The acting wasn't that great, the plot wasn't that great, and I hated the ending. However, before that I saw the new Nightmare on Elm Street. Although I am a fan of the originals, I did like that one. I'd give it either a 4/5 or even a 5/5.

Draciolus 01-14-2011 01:01 AM

Last movie I saw was Brooklyn's Finest. Good movie, awsome cast of actors, and a few twists that I would have seen coming, if I wasnt distracted by people trying to talk to me while I was watching it(remote was on other side of room, and I was too lazy to go grab it). Overall, it gets a 8/10.

Black Phoebe 01-15-2011 12:56 AM

I recently saw 'Easy A' which surprised me quite a bit.

Yes, it had some good comedy to it, but it had a tear for every laugh, as a good movie should.
The character development was very realistic, all characters, even the ones painted in the worst light, had some good qualities to them as well as bad, and they avoided the unrealistic cliche of 'high school bets friends stay best friends forever, always' which was quite nice.
I also like how they didn't have many A-list actors/actresses in the movie just to sell seats, as most movies I've seen recently seem to be depending on.

I'd give it 4/5 stars.

I just saw "The Green Hornet". As I hate rating things, I won't give it one, but I enjoyed the movie quite a bit. The local critics--who happen to have their heads up their asses when they write--gave it only a single star and a half. While I can relate to the redundancy of Seth Rogan's character being incompetent and a little annoying, I think the cast was fine and I found myself laughing most of the time. The humor was great; both in the dialogue and the physical aspects.

I definitely recommend it.

Angel Song 01-16-2011 09:28 AM

I watched Georgia Rule last night.

I hate Lindsay Lohan, I really do, but I can't ignore how well she did in this movie. I won't give any spoilers, but the main character is so easy to understand and relate to by the end- I also loved the Georgia character, she's just so easy to love, and the few jokes it had were very clever.

I'd say 3/5, it's hardly a blockbuster 'wow' effect, but it's something I would definitely watch again.

Nigh 01-18-2011 01:22 PM

Tangled. 5/5 for sure. It was funny, sweet, had great fightig sences, and the animaton was just awesom Not to mention the story line rocked.

YamiSora 01-21-2011 07:58 PM

since Sora saw 3 movies over the week in total, he'll just give you his ratings on all of them:

Phantom of the Opera (2004 adaptation with Gerard Butler) - 5/5
OMG OMG OMG! Because of this movie, Gerard Butler is Sora's new favorite actor! XDD everybody did their own singing and they were all such great singers and he LOVES the story! ^^
such a great love tragedy.

Tangled - 4/5
It was good, the only problem Sora has with this, is that the songs sounded to pop.....didn't sound like classic disney songs from the renaissance....which Sora expects from PRINCESS disney movies....

The Ugly Truth - 5/5 (Depending)
YAY Gerard Butler!
anyways, for this movie it really depends if you can take REALLY perverted jokes.....if you can, it's good, if you can't, then Sora says you shouldn't watch it.

Black Phoebe 01-22-2011 06:06 AM

Watership down

the original film

I'd say 4/5 off the bat, I love the animation and how realistic it is, even if they say it's a kids movie when it clearly is not

Ling 01-25-2011 04:35 AM

I recently watched The Green Hornet starring Seth Rogen and Jay Chou. I didn't know what to expect but it turned out to be great for a laugh. I'd classify it as action/comedy. Jay Chou's character Kato was very cool....and I'm not just saying this because I'm a fan of Jay Chou (even though I am).

Anyway, for a rating out of 5 I'd have to give it 4. It was fun to watch and it was cool how everything that happened connected in the end but it was really hard to take it seriously because of how unbelievable it was.

Aspinou 01-25-2011 08:04 PM

Last movie I saw was "Frida", I've seen it before and really like it. I give it 4/5.
