I've seen The Devil Wears Prada, and it does seem like Ugly Betty, but not really.
I've seen all the Ugly Betty episodes, mostly because my mom loves it also, and we've like have a 'bookmark' kind of thing on the show soo everytime its on, we know. xD |
I saw the original telenovella show, called Betty LaFeya (sp?) and it was a great show, before the 2nd season that is. DUnno why but the 2nd season kind of disapointed me, the 1st season was more exciting to follow.
But I heard even the president of their country watched it and claimed it was his favorite TV show. I don't know about the american remake version though. Ugly Betty? Well, the actress playing Betty seems to get the look right. Gotta watch the real show first to be able to really give any comment about it. |
My stepmom really likes Las Fea Mas Bella or whatever it is, but yeah, Ugly Betty is just a remake of another show. LFMA just ended actually, in Mexico last week or something, but yeah, my stepmom decided to talk to me about it. :lol: I don't watch it, because I can't speak spanish, but my stepmom likes it, but she didn't like Ugly Betty, because they really changed it.

The original 'Betty la Fea' *wich was a spanish drama* was great. It was a very different 'novela' from what the latin community was used too. But the english version *Ugly Betty* and the new spanish version *La Fea mas Bella* can't compare to it.
They could had done a much better work with them. |
I love this show! The storyline is interesting and I'm wondering where they are going to go with it!

I saw the first 3 episodes
It sorta reminds me of devil in prada but more of a human kind of way A remake version is always hard to match up to the original But you have to think of who are the masses for the new remake? the masses for the new remake may not like the original series Even if the original series to others may be fantastic. |

Ah, this show is cute! It's was first telenovela called "Betty La Fea", which my friend used to watch a lot. Then I guess it got picked up by ABC? I've only seen one episode of the American version, but I like it a lot.

I thought Ugly Betty was really interesting when I first heard about it. The closer the premere episode came, the more excited I was.
So on the night when first episode launched, I just fell in love with it. I thought it was a super cute show. Weeks went past and I watched several episodes thinking it would get better and better. But it kinda went downhill from there and I sort of lost interest in it, sadly. However, the first few episodes were really great though. It's just not the show that would keep me coming back for more, well in my opinion. n_n;; |

Well the only episode I saw, was.........
when Betty's sister applied for a position as a hair stylist, with betty's company...!! It reminded me of how my sister and I treat eachother. So.....Yes, I do like the show and can't wait till I watch the new season!! |

haha. it seems funny. but a bit predictable i must say. the stories are the same old things, thought i dont know how it will turn out, since ive only seen one episode.... :p |

Has anybody noticed that the girl who plays "Ugly Betty" on the show that comes on in the U.S. isn't really ugly? I saw her on the cover of a magazine, and she's not at all ugly. David Spade commented about that on his show. He was like, "So what happens when really ugly people watch this show? Do they think to themselves, 'man, if that's ugly, what am I'?"

I think it's a cute show. It's really trying to tell people not to judge by appearances. And the thing with "Fat Carol" really proved that. Fat Carol wasn't fat at all, but people seemed to think she was. It's overly dramatic to the point that some of the more serious parts are very silly. So I enjoy it. I'm not going to flip over it like I do with other shows, but it's a lot of fun.

Everyone talks about it, and I think its pretty good, but alot of people don't. I guess it depends what you like. Right?

I was really hoping that the plot of Ugly Betty wouldn't be as boxed-in as it's original Mexican base... and I wasn't disappointed in the least. America Ferrera is really good at her role, so it's no surprise to me now that she got an award for that.
