Ugly Betty {TV}
I'm excited to watch it! The first episode is airing on this Sunday!! :D Plus I've seen the show win a couple of awards... so it MUST be good!
Can someone tell me about it in their own perspective without spoilers? XD |
Heh, i've seen a couple of episodes. In my oppinion, it's not as good as everybody says. Although, all my friends love it. So, it's probally just me.

I found it once whilst I was flicking through the channels, watched it for a bit and thought it was alright...
Then a few days later the same episode was on again, exactly on the part that I'd watched.... o_O;; That just seems a bit strange to me.... |
Perhaps an encore episode?

I watched it tonight, the first episode for the first time & I must say I really liked it!! :D I'm not sure if I'm a fan just yet, we'll have to see!!

that show is fantastic :J the humor is a bit intellectual and irreverant at times, but that's part of why i like it
plus i'm really into fashion... but i'm pretty much a reject like betty is :F |
I looked it up on Wiki... Ugly Betty is just the English adaptation of the Columbian original {plus it's been re-done in other countries too}.

I saw the first episode and I thought it was quite good, it was funny and entertaining. I'm definitely going to keep watching it :D

It's somewhat like Devil in Prada, but never ends.
I enjoyed it at first, but Betty, in all her ways and her family and odd boyfriend, got me a little annoyed. It's still funny, and the show is great. I'm just more a fan of It's Always Sunny in Philedelphia. But Ugly Betty is a good show. The characters are very well put together for a magazine editing genre, and the storyline has a few delightful twists. |
I've yet to see the Devil Wears Prada, so I wouldn't know. D:

I think everyone can relate to Betty a lot. Not everyone is glamorous & beautiful. :< & how she gets treated so badly shows how shallow we are judging people on looks.

xD j/k But yeah. It really shows that. Out of the show, too. My cousins won't watch the show because they think America Ferrera is ugly. Like, gosh. I mean, the plot is really great too, ya know?? But maybe it's 'cause I saw America in other things before, so I don't think she's that "ugly". You know, it takes her 2 hours to get into Betty makeup. :? (I read that in an interview with her) |
Ugly Betty is one of my favorite shows on television now. ABC is doing really well with their thursday line up. Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy. The thursday channel to watch used to be NBC with Friends and Fraiser (sp) and Will and Grace. I don't think ABC is going to flat line anytime soon. Ugly Betty is a wonderful show to have on their line up! It's doing so well. I'm not sure how well it can compare to the Tella Novella. I've only been able to see a few episodes of that one before we switched cable providers and now I can't find my spanish stations. :cry:

I really don't like Ugly Betty. The acting I find very bland even for a comedy. I like the actress from other things but honestly it feels like a cheesy sunday afternoon show. I just don't see why it's getting so much hype.
Though I never like things on ABC except Lost. And even then Lost is starting to loose points with me. |
