Pan's Labyrinth is just awesome. I borrowed it froma friend in exchange for on of my games (it was sacred) I think it wasn't a bad trade.

i just watched pans labyrinth the other day with my sister. it was a very good movie.
i love the faun. he was pretty awesome. The thing with the eyes on his hands was weird. when i told my dad about him and mocked how he walked with his hands up by his face, he was cracking up. he thought it was hilarious. |
That guy is so great! After seeing it, my friend would walk around with her hands on her head like him. I got a video of it. I teasure it and plan to black mail her with it!

I actually rented this movie the other day. Great storyline, with fantastic actors.

yes the ending was sad. but kinda happy. i mean the girl did end up living in her kingdom.

I think the ending was perfect for the story. True it was sad, but she did save her brother and the resistance won. I don't think it would have been as good if it was a happy ending, because the whole movie was dark and sad.

I never got to see this movie in theaters, but I did find the DVD and couldn't resist getting it since I'd heard such good reviews of it.
I'm really glad I did. Even if you don't know any spanish, the subtitles really don't detract from the movie (and that's saying a lot, really, in itself). It IS very graphic, some may say overly so, but it was mostly to point OUT the cruelty of the person(s) involved. I liked how even though it was set in a historical time period, it was defintiely a very dark fairy tale at the same time. I felt really drawn into it, and I could understand the characters problems, decisions, everything. It really took you there, and I honestly kept getting into a "if it was ME," mindset, trying to guess and outguess what would happen and who to trust. XD All in all a brilliant ride. I was raving over this movie for a long time after I saw it. A definite must-see. |
I also never got to see this movie in the theaters. But when I got a hold of the DVD and popped it in I got into the movie.
The story was really good and the way it was portrayed was great. It would have been better if I didn't have to read a lot because of the subtitles but after watching the movie a few times I got to appreciate it. Everytime I watch the movie my sister always has to watch because she thinks the Captain is hot. xD She just says that because she likes dudes in uniform. Anyways, the movie was awesome the ending even though it turned out the way it did, its still was a great ending. I would rate this movie an eight and a half out of ten.^_^ |
Eversince i saw the movie, i loved it! I like the fact that it was a fairy tale/horror type of movie since most of the movies ive seen are not based on that. The scariest part for me was the time when she had to go to that dinner and not eat anything, having that weird looking creature chasing you is not fun. The one thing that threw me off was that the main character was shot at the end, i was not expecting that since hardly in any movie kids shot, but i guess that was part of the test. They also should've applied more of her kingdom to see what it was actually like and what type of people/creatures lived there. But over all the movie was fantastic.
