yeah, i really liked that there wasn't anything romantic about the doctor and donna's relationship. it made me sad with how they ended donna's role in the show though :[
Yes, exactly, and the Doctor needs more companions like that. They just worked so well together, there was this great chemistry between them that had nothing to do with romance. I think Donna is too cynical for romance, especially after Lance. P:
End of series 4X
I thought the Doctor-Donna was fantastic though, but the part about her not being allowed to remember any of it does make me really sad. Though I don't really get why because well, Rose looked into the heart of the TARDIS and saw the whole of time as well, but somehow that was alright?
i was reading yesterday that donna's grandfather is going to show up in one of the upcoming specials. who knows, perhaps they'll bring her back as well? xD one can only dream.
I like how they aren't setting up every companion as a potential love interest. I didn't mind that they did it with Rose - I thought they went well together. I minded a lot when they had Martha constantly falling all over him while he was still heartbroken from loosing Rose. Martha was far less annoying when she wasn't pinning after him all the time. I'm glad that they didn't even touch on romance with Donna. Poor Doctor needs a break. I hope that if they choose to have more romance in the future, they at least space them WAY out - like 5+ years apart. A new romance every season or so would ruin the show.
Don't blame the poor Doctor for not wanting to take on any new companions. He's been through so much. I'm not expecting that attitude to change until after the next regeneration. Probably for the best.
I'm enjoying the specials this year, although I wish there were a few more of them.
I love Doctor Who so much. <3 Four, Five, Eight, Nine, and Ten are my favorites (mostly because I have yet to watch episodes with the others). I loved the movie "The Five Doctors", I just wish Tom Baker had had a bigger role in it. The Master of his era (Anthony Ainley) was a funny guy, too.
I've had my reservations about the Eleventh Doctor, but I'll give him a chance. I watched an interview with him, and he seems pretty eccentric and has some cute mannerisms, so I think he'll do a decent job. My friend is in shambles because she adores David Tennant, and she can't stand to see him go.
Also, I'm not sure if this has been brought up before, but has any of you read the webcomic The Ten Doctors? I've actually not completed reading it, but it's pretty good. And thanks to that comic, I've gotten to know the other doctors a bit, although I haven't seen much of the classic series.
I watch Dr Who. My friend use to talk about it all the time, so a year ago I finally got up my lazy butt and looked it up. I fell in love with it first episode. I couldn't stop watching. I can't wait until the next season comes out. I'm a bit said to see The Doctor go and another one coming. I hope the new one lives up to the Doctor's of the past.
I've been a fan since 2006. At first I wasn't really into it ,but the more i watched the more I liked it. Though the problem is that most of my friends don't watch it.
Sorry, a little spastic there. I love that show. Probably my most favorite Sci-Fi series.
Do any of you know when they're going to play the 5th season?
All I know is that David Tennant is being replaced by Matt Smith. Which bums me out. ; 3 ;
I love Doctor Who. (:
I've watched most of the episodes. There's a few from the first few series that I haven't been able to find, but apart from that, I've fangirled over everything else.
Who is your favourite Doctor?
Mine has to be David Tennant. I totally love him. He's just such an amazing actor and suits the role so well. It's a shame he's leaving. I'm kindof against the new doctor already just because he's following Tennant. > 3>

Mine is the 9th doctor, Christopher Eccleston.
He seemed to have had more of an interest in Rose, which I liked. I mean, he hinted at it more than Tennant. And during his rein as "doctor" he kept that mysterious air about him, which I felt fit the character the best. AND. The ear jokes. I loved the ear jokes. <33
Don't get me wrong though, I love Tennant aswell. The little dork that he is. Lulz.
My favorite will always be #4. Tom Baker. Those episodes with him, K-9, and the ORIGINAL Romana- Mary Tamm- will always be the best in my book. Although, David Tennant did do a pretty good job. Too bad he didn't hold up to his promise. He could have kept the show going for years! Ah well. All good this must come to an end, I suppose. I'd love to see a sequel to "The Five Doctors", now it would be ten! How fantastic would that be? All ten working together, maybe this could be the segway to introduce number 11? Just one Goddess' opinion.
Oh God, I honestly could do a whole forum on Doctor Who!
I was first introducced to this gem of a televiosn show on 2005 when the new series starring Christopher Eccleston as the Ninth Doctor aired over on CBC (I live near Canada). Fell in love with it, I did. So I went to my library and started looking at all of the Doctor Who DVDs/VHSs they had. I have seen all of the Doctors except Six and Seven. My favourite Doctors are Three, Four, Eight, Nine, and Ten.
Even though, I loved Paul McGann as the Eight Doctor, the film was pretty terrible. Nine was my first (^_^) and my favourite. Tom Baker was a perfect Doctor, he also had a sixteen-to-twenty foot long scarf-enough said. Tennant had such a variety of episodes, that He greew onto me, I really wasn't to thrilled that Eccelston wasn't continuing on. Not looking forward to the Eleventh Doctor, channeling Twilight much (really can't stand that series).
I love Doctor Who for a variety of reasons. Mainly the whole time/space travel. Oh what I would do to become an assistant/Time Lord!! The show is very much a sci-fi that really does not over-do the science-fiction, that's a plus. The EDAs (Eight Doctor Adventures) are Really good in terms of basing and expanding on one tele-movie. Some of them are confusing a la "Blink", but are excellent reads. A bonus is that there are over seventy of them, down side they are incredibaly hard to find, especially in America.
Tis has got to be my favorite scifi show, even surpassing Star Trek TOS. Admitally, I've only been watching since the 9th Doctor, and was sad to here about David Tennant giving up his role to a younger up-and coming actor, but the show is just amazing in my opinion.
I have the hots for the Docter. I love him so, and his british accent the fact that he wears converse, and how he is always switching about with people. I would love to travel around time with him, I think it would be glorious fun. The scariest episode i thought was the one witht he Angel Statues. How when you look away and no one can see them they move, so fast. Their faces are scary as hell. Creaped me out so much, and I am the sort of person to laugh at movies like Saw and the texas chain saw masecure. >< lol
I love Doctor Who and this other series out of the UK called Primeval, Doctor who is a really cool series it has a really good plotline plus I still can't believe all the stuff that sonic skrewdriver of his can do..
