I used to like Disney's Peter Pan a lot.

Until my Animation teacher in college said that the Native's tents are supposed to symbolize vaginas, and the entire thing is about the female body maturing and getting the period and lots of other stuff that I decided to "forget" in order to protect the remainder of my sanity. O___O

It wasn't and still isn't one of my favorites, but it iis quite enjoyable! I'm glad I got the DVD because I honestly didn't remember a good chunk of the movie!

Well the thing is with any thing you can interput it as being sexual or sexually oriented...Like we went in depth with how the darker skinned Disney characters are highly sexualized versus the lighter skinned Disney characters.

Re-watching Peter Pan...I realize that I now have a huge crush on Peter XD It doesn't help that the last time I went to Disneyland the guy that they had dressed as Peter Pan was really adorable and amazingly in character! I also realize that I don't really like any of the females...Tink is super jealous and petty, and Wendy's very haughty and seems to jutst want things to go her way...I like Tiger Lily if I had to pick a female from the movie, but honestly she didn't do much of anything *shrugs* Just remember that they're just characters and that it's for entertainment =D

I LOVE PETER PAN!

When they came out with the live action movie, with Jeremy Sumpter, I went and saw it in the theaters. I fell in love with it. When it came out on dvd, i had to get it the day it came out! Once I got it, the money did not go to waste. For about a month or two straight, I replayed that movie, on my tv, over and over and over again. I could resite every line in that movie, with them. There was even a scene, where I could just reenact it, on cue. That was the scene where Wendy asks "Boy, why are you crying?" To further my Peter Pan memorization, I printed off the entire script for the movie, off the internet.

I also had a point, where I was slightly obsessed with Peter Pan 2...but I didn't really like that movie too much. I'm not a big fan of sequels. But it was still another story of Peter Pan, so I had to watch it. ^.^

And I don't like Wendy, as well. She was the stereotypical definition of a rich little girl.

@13 phones: I hadn't watch the movie in over 10 years~ It was so much fun watching it again...I didn't remember some of it, but not as much as I did other Disney movies~

Same here ;o; I didn't get my camera out in time when him, Wendy, and Hook were walking around the park...I did get to stare at him for quite awhile though! I definatly need to be on the look for Peter Pan the next time I go XD I even watched the parade when in hopes that I could get another pic of him! I was upset because he got to be in a float and like in hiding and didn't have to run around and stuff like the rest of the characters XDDDDD

I haven't seen it in ages, but I've been debating picking it up before it gets vaulted so that my son can watch it while he's still little. If not, he'll be 11 or so before it comes back out. Heh.

From what I remember, I enjoyed it. I'm just afraid they'll have cleaned it up to make it PC like they did to Fantasia.

XD They didn't change a thing on Peter Pan~ At least from what I remember and I re-watched the movie recently! How did they make Fantasia more PC though...?

In the Pastoral Symphony number, there used to be a black centaur, which was extremely goofy looking and waiting on all the pretty tall white ones. @Bunny Slippers: Well considering how Disney has been 'hiding' Song of the South in the 'Disney Vault' for how many years, it isn't much of a surprise that they would hide and deny a character that would also have ties into such racial deals. I think since people are more vocal when it comes to blacks and the stereotypes of blacks from that time period it may lead to why they would decide to make a decision like that...but then complete denial really isn't cool =/

XD Yea that song was kept in =D It's a lot of fun even though it's so heavily stereotyped based.

Has anyone seen the version of peter pan called "Hook" starring robin williams?

I loved the disney version but this is just great fun. it's about when peter falls in love and leaves neverland only to return many many years later when his kids are kidnapped by Hook, it's a great wee movie and I bought it a short while ago for £2.

@Dante: YES! I LOVE 'Hook'! I kind of like that better than 'Peter Pan'...Disney version, just because it's such a different take on the concept~

peter pan is a great classic. i love the disney masterpiece collection.

i've seen Hook! it's a good movie.

hahahaha as much as i like tink, im not going to go watch the faeries movie *chuckles* i like my movies with sexy men in them and adventure and maybe one person dying *snort* Disney movies are just fun to watch every so often becasue it reminds me about things i did when i was little watching the movie and people i was with at the time ^^

hahah and yeah, nearly all my friends are male, so they would most certainly tease. especially the ones i've known since "boys are ick"

I think it is cool that Disney made a movie about Tinker bell. So now we know her back round.
