I watched a portion of this in a class because we had a book club and this was the book I had to read. The movie was pretty cool; I liked it =3

A boy in my fencing club dresses as the Dread Pirate Roberts for Halloween. I want to dress either as Inigo Montoya or someone from The Count of Monte Cristo. As a kid this movie inspired me to fence, and made me wish I was ambidextrous.

I was always upset that you can get replica Final Fantasy swords and replica Lord of the Rings swords and replica Kill Bill katanas, but you can't get replica Princess Bride swords. I want a six-fingered sword! :/

You know, I've been talking to so many people about this movie and everyone RAVES on how wonderful it is. I'm sure there has to be some others like us that want those swords!

A very funny and entertaining movie. My friend Jenner forced me to watch it. I can recall hearing her laugh non stop and since she started laughing i joined in and it made the movie ten times funny. I have the part where he said "you killed my father" so on and so forth. I love this moive i would see a million times and still find funny. :D

Rachel Tamwood 04-16-2007 05:19 AM

It is soooooo the best movie ever. It is the only movie that all my friends can agree on.

secretdae007 04-16-2007 08:27 PM

This is the ultimate classic all-around family movie. I love this movie and find it to be a wonderful story for all ^^

HelloRose 04-16-2007 08:38 PM

I had never heard of this movie until about 4 years ago. I couldn't believe what I'd missed! It's so easy to recite whole sections of it. Almost every line could be quoted, and people would know what it's from. xD

MAWWIDGE IS WHAT BRWINGS US TWOGEVER, TWODAY.
Hello. My name is Ingo Montoya. You killed my father, prepare to die.

And Cary Elwes was quite hot in that movie. <333

meririm 04-16-2007 09:37 PM

I loved it! (Though the first 15 minutes nearly made me give up). My favorite moments are the "Rodents of unusual size? I don't think they exist. Argh!" and of course the infamous Inigo Montoya line :D

It is brilliant, just brilliant. I should watch it again.

Hoshi 09-02-2007 02:22 AM

  • She's explaining why she doesn't like the movie? At the "and guess what movie", you're supposed to realize it was... The Princess Bride.

I love this movie. <3 There are so many lines, and such awesome fight scenes.

And who doesn't love Andre the Giant? <3333

Kiralisha 10-06-2007 11:40 AM

Aw, I love that movie. It is such a classic, and contains so many great quotable lines
And one incredibly sexy Cary Elwes. Mmm.
I recently got the book, so I can't wait to read it.

Hokuto 10-06-2007 04:27 PM

Way back in elementary school me and my old best friend used to love this movie and watch it all the time. As time passed it seems to have lost its appeal to me..

TakiNeko 10-07-2007 08:44 PM

The Princess Bride is probably one of my most favorite movies of all time. There are so many great moments, and it's such a great story! <3 It's a bit nostalgic somehow since I first watched it when I was in elementary school. It plays on tv every so often, and when it's on I'll watch it, but the vhs tape I had of it before is not available to me atm, so I can't just watch it when I feel like it.

Cary Elwes is <3.

I bought the book a few years ago, and it's very different from the movie. Still very good though, I recommend it for fans of the movie. It has it's own sort of humor that I guess you could say is similar to the movie in some ways.

Heysuesita 10-19-2007 01:39 AM

When I was in orchestra we watched the movie at least three times a year. I think the director was trying to brain-wash us into liking the movie.

It worked! One of the best films ever made, I had to buy it. *luffs on her DVD*

Amo_Angelus 10-20-2007 08:40 AM

I loved this movie as a kid and still love it now. My boyfriend says it's a silly movie and he wasn't a bit suprised that I loved it. My favourite part was near the beginning when Weasly chases Buttercup. The whole sword fight, subduing the giant and battle of wits had me laughing.
