[quote="momus"][b][color=orange]I love it, it's the movie I've watched most. My favorite parts are when the Dread Pirate Roberts is trying to "outwit" the Sicilian and when Inigo Montoya takes his revenge on the six fingered man. FANTASTIC.

I loved that part too and the fight between "Dread Pirate Roberts" and the Itlalian on the cliffs after they kidnapped Buttercup *sighs sadly* honestly who names a kid Buttercup? Hey it's cute when their young but imagine the rest of their life, or trying to get a high-up serious job with a name like that *not very happy* oh well i have heard worse. Back on topic
What do think of the rats in the FireSwamp (i remembered! I haven't watched it in a while)they look like mutant dolls thrown about the set to look interesting
my favourite quote from the movie is ,and i know most people know it but, "I've been mostly dead all day" made me rofl and people use it too even if they haven't seen the movie.

The Movie is brilliant but don't go anywhere near the book it ruins the film and is not very interesting keep watching the film only people :)

I love the Princess Bride - you should read the book as well - anyway - my favourite part is when she pushes him down the hill and he screams "as you wish" and she's like "wesley" and purposefully trips down the hill after him. lol - also the inconcievable! that's amazing!
either way - it's a fun movie to watch - especially when you watch it with friends!

I love that movie! :D My favorite part had to be with Miracle Max and his wife running around the table yelling about Prince Humperdink, and then Indigo says that if Max saves Wesley, the wedding will be ruined and the prince will be humilated, thus prompting Max to take the job.

PixelBabii 10-25-2007 12:16 AM

I saw this movie a while ago, but it still is a favorite of mine. I vaguely remember what happened in the movie. But I do remember in one of the scenes there was a giant rodent, that thing scared me. Oh and another that I remember is when he was strapped down to a sort of bed and the guy is like electrocuting him. And then there was another scene that I remember when to other guys were fighting with swords and one of them was saying "You killed my father, prepare to die." I forgot the names though. Overall, this was a great movie.

MasterChiefrei 10-26-2007 02:50 AM

I love this movie as well and I can easily watch it over and over. This is also the first movie I'm aware Cary Elwes is in and he did an awesome job in it. XD My favorite parts of the movie are when Inigo, Andre *I can't spell his character's name. ><;*, and Wesley team up to save Buttercup and when he explains about the Dread Pirate Roberts and going through the fire swamp. My favorite scene and line *already most everyone's favorite. ><;* is when Inigo faces the six fingered man and before the end he says, "Give me everything I ask for!"
Rugen: "All that I have and more, please!"
Inigo *finishes him* "I want my father back you son of a bitch." Twas beautiful. <3

My favourite part never even made it into the movie, but was from the book. :( Out of the movie, though, I'd have to say my favourite scenes were anything with Inigo in them. He's quite easily my favourite character. It's been so long since his father was murdered, but he is still so devoted to him and avenging his death. It's really quite touching.

Tank_Girl 10-28-2007 11:53 PM

Haha oh man, this is definately one of my favorite movies of ALL time.
I love the guy who's father was murdered and he goes all vengeance crazy.
I can't spell his name. O;
One of my favorite parts is when Wesley and the Princess are standing on top of the hill and she doesn't realize it's him until he's rolling down the hill and yelling "As you wish!" and thennn, she goes tumbling down the hill after him. XD

I hadn't seen the movie until just a couple of years ago even though it was on television all the time. I finally watched it because at the summer camp I use to work at we did a Princess Bride themed campfire, where some of the staff acted out the movie. When I saw the movie after that, I must say the staff did a great job of acting it out. I now love the movie.
I just got it on dvd about a week ago so now I can watch it whenever I want to.
Indigo Montoya definitely one of the best characters.

I so missed out on this one... but I'm catching up.

I've started reading the book.

Ashes 10-29-2007 03:29 PM

I still watch it every once in awhile. It's still just as hilarious as the first time.
I love Princess Bride, it's just classic. ^-^

Niren 10-30-2007 12:11 AM

I love the part where Miracle Max calls his wife a witch..that movie always makes me laugh. The whole movie is good. I like the ROUS, the coustumes are...very good...*laughs* I love them.

Aisha Woku 10-30-2007 08:03 AM

Inconceivable! Princess Bride is awesome. I love the Rodents Of Unusual Size. I think Inigo Montoya was my favorite character; "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.". It's just a crazy, kooky movie and I love it so much. >.<

I thought of this movie again when I saw "Stardust" a few weeks ago. As far as I've seen, there really hasn't been a movie quite like "The Princess Bride" up until "Stardust". Made me realize how heavy movies have been in general lately. Not to knock other fantasy like "Lord of the Rings" or "Pan's Labyrinth", but I don't think I'd mind seeing other films in this vein - relatively light-hearted fantasy-romance type things where you can't feel anything but good at the end.

Not that I want copies or remakes, mind you. Just something original that'll twang my hopelessly romantic little heartstrings a little.

I dunno, have I missed any other films like this? I'd be curious to see what other movies fellow fans of "The Princess Bride" would recommend.

I get so much slack from people for not liking this movie... I know it's supposed to be a parody, but I find it so boring and lame. My boyfriend makes fun of me all the time for it, and he tells people so that they laugh at me for it as well. But all is good. Not that I'm dissing anyone who likes it, but I just really don't like this movie.

Maybe I should watch it again though, I didn't like Labrynth the first time I saw it, and now it's one of my favorite movies (Love love love David Bowie).

Andre the Giant is pretty cool though. He was one fine wrestler.

Kiralisha 11-01-2007 02:42 AM

I just bought the movie, and I've fallen in love with it all over again. It's one of those movies I can watch over and over again and laugh just as hard as the first time. It makes me happy; so many quotable moments.

InYourMind 11-02-2007 03:56 PM

I saw it in the theatres when I was very young. A few months ago my parents bought it on DVD. I remembered parts of it. Though before I thought it was more serious. But now that I'm older I get the jokes. I believe its a classic movie. It's absolutely random but in a good way. I love how its somewhat absurd but doesn't go off topic. All in alll, I love it ^^

Alice Elliot 11-02-2007 06:49 PM

I watched this on cable when I was very young! I still remember parts of it, and would love to watch it again. "As you wish." was the most memorable line for me, don't know why.

Onionlord 11-03-2007 03:07 AM

Yeah, this movie is by far one of the best ever made. The characters are fun, the story is entertaining, and the dialog is timeless.

I don't remember when the first time I saw this movie was, but I was young, and in the first 2 minutes I was ready to walk away from it. Not a fan of whats his name, the kid who played the wizard, but I kept watching and now I easily place it in my top 5 favorite movies of all times.

The city I live in has a nightclub named The Castle. It affords me several opportunities to quote one of my favorite lines from the movie... " bye bye boys, have fun storming the castle."

I hope this movie never gets re made or re edited. It's just so good that anything anyone ever does to it will only serve to ruin it.

Nani 11-03-2007 04:30 AM

I love this movie! It was a favorite growing up and I love it even more now because it's a great movie both my husband and I can watch. I also love that I can show it to my baby when they get older without fear of bad things they may pick up.

My favorite parts are the "as..you..wiiiiish" when he rolls down the hill and her throwing herself after him and when he does his little battle test like thingies with each of the three guys.

blind_phoenix 11-04-2007 09:34 PM

A classic! This movie is in my top 5 for sure. I think it's beautiful and amazing.

vmars 12-07-2007 04:03 AM

The movie is really good. No matter how many times I watch it, it is always funny and clever. It never gets boring either even with all of the different settings and twists and turns. It is a very well written movie. One of my favorite parts is probably when the crazy wife of Magic Max goes crazy on him and they fight back and forth over each other about the fact that he said 'true love.' It's a pretty short scene, but I love it.

Deniece 12-07-2007 11:59 AM

Awww, it's been a while since I watched this movie! I really need to get it out and watch it. My sons friend and I were talking about it the other day, and she said she had never seen it, so I'm definitely gonna have to get her over here one day to watch it.
