For a Japanese movie it wasn't actually very gory...I don't think you've seen much Japanese gore fests...
Anyway, yes I have seen it. It's a great movie but I do prefer the mangas, they're more gory and there's more backstory. Also the film doesn't quite explain everything that's going on and misses out on a lot of the humour. But hey, it's a great movie. It's one of those I went out and bought so I can't complain. It's also the movie that started my love affaire with Japanese movies. Here's a random titbit. Apparently the entire movie was made by college students. It took a long time to finish because everyone had to fit it around classes and that's why it's not as graffic as most Japanese movies of it's genre. They only had a college budget... |

Oh! That's what I meant. I went into it thinking it would be far worse that it was. I'd say that Kill Bill had more gore, and Kill Bill hardly had any. The deaths were all mild in comparison to other films. No, I've seen this one Japanese film (with the same couple), Where a man films himself dismembering a girl while she's still alive. That was bad. |
hehe Japanese films are great for things like that. I watched one about the Yakuza where even I couldn't hep but flinch and I watch a lot of gore and wanton violence!
Have you seen the second one? That was a real let down after the first! |
I've seen both movies but I haven't gotten my hands on the book yet. I'm not too interested in reading the manga, but I loved both movies so I want to read the books they were based off of.
