I didn't knew there was even a movie O.o I only watched the serie a while back. I was transmitted one time on public channele and that was all. Never even had the occassion to rewatch it >.<

  • Omg. I love the 10th Kingdom. ^^

And I also thought that it was more around 7-8 hours long. Because I remember the first time it aired on tv, I was back in 5th grade I think. Which was 7 years ago. But we also had the DVD but it was stolen when we moved.

I love the pearl from the ring.

Two/three years ago it suddenly became very easy to find a copy of it to buy. That's when I got mine. It made me so happy. You might try Best Buy or FYE.

Pretty much your only shot at getting a copy would be through second-hand bookstores or used copies from Amazon.com or eBay.

Ah, alright. I'll probably have to borrow a copy from a friend then. There's no second-hand book stores around my area. It's a shame that the 10th Kingdom has been tossed aside like this and it's hard to find now. D:

A magic goldfish sounds very interesting.

Hasumi;;
You had trouble finding it to rent? The Blockbuster's in my area had a few copies the last time I checked.

I want "We Will Shear You" played at my wedding. <3

Elwing 05-10-2007 05:41 AM

I have seen that 2 months ago. XD
I liked the idea how they brought all those fairytales together...
kinda something else than and they lived happily ever after.

I like wolf XD waaooooooo!!!!
Yeah the Shepherdess contest was cool indeedn, how she was
gonna sing that song from queen XD

But I realy hated those 3 trolls, so annoying. Only liked the part in
the boat with the radio on. And I think the snow white looked a little...
._. fat. Did not expected that from her.
But I liked the cinderella XD rofl! Old hag :P

Ellendar 05-16-2007 01:16 PM

Oddly enough I bought the DVDs for my girlfriend as gift, and I know she's watched it at least once, if not twice since then and I've still not seen it myself. It's on the to do list though... just need to find the time.

Rin Namami 08-02-2007 02:28 PM

I cannot find the DVD (yes, it was only one disk and a second for extra features) of the series anywhere but in the library! It is bad to rent movies from the library, because all the disks are damaged somehow. DX
A lot of scenes, and one huge jump, were skipped and it made me very angry! I am just glad that at least my friend let me read the book before I borrowed the movie from the library. =D

Skrae 08-02-2007 07:30 PM

I finally got to see the entire miniseries on YouTube.
My boyfriend and I watched it together every night until we finally finished it.
I love Wolf, and Virginia's dad too.
It's hilarious.
Did not know there was a book though.
I'll have to look for it!

DirtWad 08-03-2007 02:52 PM

OMG,Jennifer,I want to see that so bad,you have to send it to me!

Or I'll just make dad go buy it for me!

Edit-Jennifer send me that movie I want to see it so bad!

SexualPlacebo 10-16-2007 11:13 PM

JESUS. It's not a movie. >/ Stop saying movie.

MINI-SERIES.

Anywayyyy. I love it. It's shown like, every christmas here. And I watch it every time. xD How sad am I.

Dearest 10-22-2007 10:52 PM

I just saw this twice, and it is one of the best films/mini-series I have ever seen!!

I just love Wolf, and how they manage to keep the story going through 7 hours! (that is an accomplishment!)

I read someone thinking Snow White was "fat"?

I think part of this film's point is to stir the beauty "standards" of today's society. Snow White being the most striking factor, but also Virginia's short hair, and the Stepmother's obvious non-über-skinny-ness...
It's lovely <3

If anyone thinks I'm wrong to call it a film, it is only because that is the only thing I know it as. I bought it a film, found out about it as a film, and they do not show it as a mini-series on any Norwegian channel... I understand that it is a mini-series, however, it's just easier for me to call it a film, seeing I can relate more to that ^^

Oh, and I love the fairytale parallels... They stitch the whole thing together in an excellent way, and makes it much easier to relate to and understand what is going on...

*luffs The Tenth Kingdom*

EDIT:
@SexualPlacebo: Although I don't see The Tenth Kingdom every Christmas, I have that same (childish) thing with a Czech version of Cinderella (called Three Wishes for Cincerella) I see it every Christmas Eve with my whole family... It's adorable, and a lovely tradition ^^

Jennifer 11-11-2007 09:50 AM

Glad I'm not the only one that refers to it as a film. I've never watched it as a mini-series. But as a DVD, where everything was put together.

So please everyone, STOP BITING MY FRICKEN HEAD OFF ABOUT THIS. I got the point when someone stated this months ago when I first made this thread. D<

Evil Nazis. ;C

manic monochrome 11-23-2007 12:40 PM

oh god.
i really can't stand that film.
an ex boyfriend of mine
made me watch it while we were going out.
all i wanted was for the damn movie to be over. D:

Alaunt 12-12-2007 03:18 AM

I love the 10th Kingdom.

Wolf is by far the best character ever!

Master Wild Mage 12-19-2007 03:30 AM

I absolutely loved this series. I kicked myself when I missed the first episode. It wasn't long before I bought the tapes. (Yes tapes. they weren't out on DVD then that says how old said tapes are.)

I love Wolfy to no end. Every time I see the actor that played him on something I always think of him as my beloved little Wolf.

Though I love the movie/show I never liked the way it ended. I can even quote the last line that pisses my off so much. "But that's another story" I wan the next story!!! I always expected a sequel but so far it hasn't come.

sidums 12-26-2007 04:28 PM

I remember watching it when it first came out on television. I was glued to the screen from begining to end and never missed a second of it. I wanted so badly to buy the video or dvd but my mom said it would have been a waste of money! I was appalled that she said that. To this day I have still yet to be able to get the movie, but trust me I would kill to get my hands on it!!

DreamEmpress 12-27-2007 04:02 AM

Much love. I was so obsessed my mom purchased the movie and CD (which I have) and also I got the autograph of the wolf. :) I was crazy and got all my questions answered. I was such a nerd.

I must agree. He's awesome! The sheep competition was awesome, from start to finish it was the best part of the movie/mini series/whatever. I used to own it but it was lost somewhere between Ohio and Minnesota when I moved. It hasn't turned up in 4 years and I miss it!

Parinia 12-29-2007 02:15 AM

I love it, but I don't have the books...yet.

I just wish my dvds had closed captioning or subtitles. I have gotten into the habit of watching nearly everything with subtitles/closed captioning on even though I don't really have any hearing problems outside of not understanding people sometimes even when they're speaking English due to their accent or something.

Plus it's neat to see how the text may differ from what is actually being said.
