  • Raine dragon, as stated a few times in this thread, don't judge the movie from the trailer, it's horribly misleading. ;]

Eimi 07-17-2007 07:06 PM

well the movie was definitely not what i expected but i enjoyed it all..it reminded me of my childhood and all the years of playing pretend..kids these days dont have as much of an imagination anymore because video games have kind of taken the place of that, not allowing kids to go and have fun in the great outdoors...it was a sad ending but i loved it..and the effects were really good too

Hidari 07-20-2007 10:24 PM

I actually really like that movie, which surprised me because I had read it when I was a kid (and obviously forgotten the vast majority about it besides that), but it was really good and I loved the ending.

That, and my friend adores it, she's seen it like 5 times and cries rivers every time.

Taiikou 07-22-2007 12:03 AM

  • I did not honestly finish the movie. In the middle I wanted to cry because it reminded me of the troubles one goes through as a child.

Yes, it's lovely and I love how the kids act very well with only imagining what we saw. Sadly, I couldn't find the strength to watch it.

Aurilia 07-22-2007 09:02 PM

I have it sitting somewhere but haven't gotten around to watching it yet. I'm kinda expecting it to be a bit like Narnia, but then again I was told that it's quite so-so. Well, I'll see.

Blithe_smilE17 07-25-2007 03:27 AM

It was AMAZING!!! I read the book after my friend persuded me to and feel in love with the plot after that Bridge to Teribithia came out to the movies...oh I was a happy girl :D

it was beautiful and touching
it made me cry XD
and the girl is very pretty!! :o

Bellazure 07-30-2007 03:51 AM

I read the book and didn't like it at first, but I went to see the movie just because I had nothing better to do.
I cried so hard at the end!
It was so much better than the book.
I still dont know what that animal was that he got out of the greenhouse and set free though.

Degnne 07-30-2007 03:15 PM

I finally saw the movie, and I loved it. I thought it was one of the more faithful movie adaptations I've seen.

Lady Taurus 07-30-2007 09:07 PM

I love kids movies eventhough I'm not a kid anymore. I wanted to see this movie in theaters but never got the chance, I can't wait to rent it. It looks very well done and I'm excited to see it.

I read the book a long time ago, it was a real tear jerker. The movie was o.k. I might have to read the book again because I don't remember a lot of the stuff happening the way the movie showed, but like I said, I read the book a looooong time ago.

hershey3kissed 09-20-2007 05:55 AM

i read the book a few years ago. i liked the book but i havent seen the movie...i dont know if i wanna though ><

Caghyre 09-20-2007 07:43 AM

I haven't seen it yet, but I want to =]

I loved Narnia, so hopefully this one is just as good.

Justice 09-27-2007 02:37 AM

I read that book back in 5th grade, I think.
I remember crying, and crying.
I'm so emotional. xD

I saw the movie for the first time on the plane, on my way home from Alaska this past summer, and of course, I cried, and cried.

I got some weird looks from other passengers, wondering why I was crying. xD

Immortaleyes 09-30-2007 12:32 AM

In this case, of the movie compared to the book, I preferred the book. I usually do in most cases of books made into movies.
But the movie actually followed everything that was in the book, I just didn't care for the actors they chose to play the boy and the girl. They didn't fit what I had always pictured the characters to look like. Not to mention the stupid CG affects. No computer person can create what a person envisions when they read a book, they can only interpret the descriptions that are given.
It was a big disappointment to me.

Amo_Angelus 09-30-2007 02:31 PM

I watched that in the cinema, it wasn't what I expected but I am in love with it. It had me in tears and even made my bf a little bit teary and he is one of those who hates children so much he makes up characters who kill them. So you know it's good. I ignored the CG quality, I can't remember it I got too wrapped up in the story.

I read this book in elementary school, I believe in 5th grade. I absolutely loved it. We were required, at that time, to do "book reports" and give books star ratings out of five. I gave Bridge a 4.5/5, which was the highest rating I ever gave anything.
There was another book I had given 4.5/5, but it was ... I think either "Root Cellar" or "Number the Stars", I can't recall precisely. :S

My teacher was concerned that I didn't ever give anything 5/5 though, she didn't like that 4.5 was the highest I was willing to give.
I tried to explain to her that, in the fifth grade, I simply could not profess a book as being "perfect" -- I just hadn't experienced enough different things, yet, but I don't think she liked how much thought and weight I seemed to be giving the star ratings.

Oh well. Yes-- um. Bridge has a lot of memories for me. <3

shellthabunny 10-01-2007 01:11 PM

That movie was sooooo sad!! :(

I don't know if I would really call it a kid's movie. I mean, it "has" "fantasy monsters" and the like in it, but it's really just... I personally can't describe it as anything other than "beautiful".

Even now at 21, so many years later, I still cried as I re-experienced it in the theatre.

Miyako 10-03-2007 04:06 AM

I just borrowed the book today and I'm pretty sure I'll like it because my friends recommended it and it sounded like a pretty good book and movie. Also I really want to watch the movie..!

KittyKomix 10-08-2007 12:10 AM

I read the book in school some time ago. Personally, I love it. There was another movie before, actually. But it was one of those extremely low-budget for showing in school type movies. But the new movie, I saw just a couple weeks ago, and it was great :3

Teeth 10-09-2007 01:44 AM

As much as I despise Dakota Fanning and wish she would just quit acting..I still didnt like it! HAHA!
Sorry..I didnt like the book either..
I found both the actors annoying and the effects weak. I DID cry a little, but that doesnt make a movie any better.
I give it a 6/10.

Azelf_Rampardos 11-24-2007 07:13 PM

Wow, this movie was really, sad! I like it so much, I even bought it for DVD. At first, I just thought it was childish, but it wasn't how I thought it would be. lol it made my dad and mom cry a bit XD I was embarassed!

Darklunarmoonlight 11-25-2007 02:58 AM

I saw it on the day it came out!
It was good! And sad...I didn't cry though :D
But I loved it!
