M*A*S*H (The series, not the movie)?
Does anyone here like the series M*A*S*H? (The movie was wierd.)
|
Totally! I own season one, oh yeah XD.
I really do like M.A.S.H, whats cooler then a bunch of crazy medics ^^. |
M*A*S*H* is amazing...
I saw almost the whole series a few years ago, it's one of the best ^^ My mother really like it as well ^^ |
I love M*A*S*H* I'm only missing season 11.
I do agree with you that the television series is better than the movie. Granted the movie is closer to the original books. But Alda is clearly the superior Hawkeye. It was really the cast that made it so great. Frank was such a phenomenal idiot and you could still pity Margret even though she was a total suck-up schemer. And Radar with his Teddy bear. I mean if you had an older virgin hanging out on your campus with a teddy bear... you'd probably think he was totally creepy. How hard a role was that to pull off. XD The closing movie always makes me so sad. There was actually a sequel called Mash Returns or some such thing it lasted about 13 episodes. It took place after the war and followed Klinger. I'm sure it wasn't that great but I'd love to see the episodes... just because. :D |
Oh man, I love M*A*S*H! I don't think there is a funnier show ever! Even Everybody Loves Raymond, which is one of my favorite comedy shows, cannot surpass the comedy of M*A*S*H. My favorite character is Hawkeye, though Radar is a close second.

*dives into the thread* I've searched 8 pages of threads to get here! XD
I've been watching the M*A*S*H reruns on Hallmark channel, and I love it! I have to say along with Radar and Hawkeye, Klinger has to be one of my favorites! I think it's funny to see him in all his dresses! It's kinda disappointing in the series now that Radar left to go back home. Not only I don't get to see Radar, but Klinger is not wearing his lovely dresses as much! XD http://files.blog-city.com/files/D05...p/f/jamie6.jpg |
I agree that things get much sadder after season six.
The Farewell & Goodbye final episode/movie kills me. I'm glad they decided to keep Klinger on the show since he was only supposed to be in one episode. I was just watching the episode where they get the bathtub during the heatwave and he wears the rubber heat retention suit and the fur with the winter hat. xD I think Radar leaving was one of the saddest things. Trapper wasn't on the show that long so it wasn't as personal when he left. I kind of missed Frank when he went, I think they could have gotten a few more seasons out of him but I was glad when the got Charles, I always liked how he would randomly do something really generous or kind. I'd kind of be interested in After M*A*S*H the show that aired briefly after M*A*S*H was over but I don't think it lasted a whole season. |
Ooh I love this show. I used to watch it either with my parents, or even by myself until I stopped the cable for my TV....now I don't have any cable so I can't watch anything.
I remember a few sad episodes, but most of them were hilarious. :3 Radar was an awesome character, and I really thought I would miss Frank myself, and I did, but Charles ended up being a pretty decent replacement. XD I liked him almost better than Frank, but my first reaction was, "NOO! Who will they torment?" M*A*S*H is just classic, I think. No show will ever be like it, and it's funny...it was long gone by the time I was even born. ^^; My parents watched it, and I think it's one of those shows that just simply came way before it's time. I thought it was brilliant. Dangit, I wish I had some channels to watch this...*stares at TV that is only used for gaming* Actually, I have two TVs...both only used for gaming. xD I should get DVDs or something, if they have them. |
I love M*A*S*H! Radar is the best! I loves that guy! XD
|
i love to watch the series. :D

I like M.A.S.H. except for the episodes that were done by Alan Alda. I don't know who let that talentless hack run things.
Most of the episodes are great, though. I love the fact that it's nearly always on TV, so it's something I can watch if I can't find anything else worth watching. I refused to watch it when I was a kid, though, because of the opening theme song. I sure don't mind that they didn't bother to belt out the lyrics to "Suicide is Painless", but the song annoyed me just the same. It's not a very nice sounding tune, and the high-pitched piccolo always made my ears ring (and still does). |
I like M*A*S*H. I haven't seen the film, but I've heard it is closer to the novel so the comedy is probably even darker.
I do have to admit to a certain fondness for Winchester, he's just so ridiculous! I've just watched the episodes where is he defending Klinger in court and it's obvious most of what he says is just fancy words and he values his own reputation over anything to do with Klinger. |
Oh, man, MASH! It is one of the most enduringly great shows in television! It's a cornerstone for a reason! I hope, twenty years from now, they're still airing episodes on TV.
I own about half the seasons on DVD, and one of the thigns I truly love is how inccredibly affordable the DVDs are! They're half the price of DVD season sets for newer shows, it it's the same or twice as many episodes. XD It's such a nice thank you to the fans, because I think anyone who loves it can grab at least a few seasons and not feel too guilty about the money spent. Plus, I love the option of being able to watch without the laugh track -- you really don't need cues to find the humor in MASH. :) I admit it, I love Frank Burns. He cracks me up! I adore watching his antics! Sadly, I never liked Charles nearly as much, but everyone in MASH was great for various reasons, and I've yet to see an episode I dislike! I'm quite sure I haven't seen them all, but I've at least watched all the ones I have on DVD. And it's always so beautifully poignant the way tragedy gets mixed in with the laughter, all the more touching for the contrast between the two. May MASH live on forever! :D |
oh man does that show bring back some memories. I used to watch it as a kid. crazy medics..they hardly ever actually did anything if I remember corectly but I still watched it with my dad. and my husband has a t-shirt that I ware all the time that says m.a.s.h. on it.

I haven't read the books or seen the movie (although I'd like to, as I'm sure that they're at least SOMEWHAT entertaining). But I've seen much of the show and LOVED it.
I was personally upset by the episode when Henry Blake left. Especially the ending. XP But it was a fantastic series. My grandfather has the entire series... I'd kind of like to get the box set sometime; just grab it all. (It's cheaper than buying it season-by-season, anyway.) |
The series is a giant among television series. To this day, it still holds up to anything on tv today. Now with the loooong span of episodes, I think I will be more precise. I love the series when Col. Potter got there. The original Col. and the characters surrounding it were not as sublime as the latter cast. From Hawkeye, to Hotlips, to Winchester, to Potter, to Radar, it was absolutely fun. There were the lighthearted episodes, there were the heavy ones, and the artsey ones. All of it worked to incredible results. I think I've showed I like it huh? XD
