Do you listen to the music in a Movie?

Just like it says. Do you listen to the music in a Movie, where you can say that this composer did a good job, or do you not notice it that much. Personally (with most of my friends) I listen to the Music and end up buying the soundtrack when it comes out if I like the music. I want to know if there are others like that listen to the music in a movie. My friends don't count because we are all insane. So please post and let me know if this is a common occurrence or just something my friends and I do. Thanks for your time.

I do that all the time. i have all the Matrix soundtracks, but my favorites are the soundtracks to The Punisher, A Knight's Tale, and Forrest Gump. They have some really good songs on them.

sadieluna 10-26-2007 08:15 PM

I do. Not the first time, then I just watch the movie. When I liked the movie, I do listen to the music.

jamilee-nicole 10-26-2007 08:26 PM

Oh, I often listen to music from the movies. Sometimes I even like the music from the movie far more than I like the movie itself!

Examples: Jurassic Park (Too awesome!), Titanic (again, TOO AWESOME! And not just My Heart Will Go On, I mean the other songs), Atlantis and Tarzan.

My favorite movie song, or whatever, is Kissed By A Rose, from one of the Batman soundtracks by SEAL.

Odd thing. Has anyone else noticed the simularities in music in the new Transformers movie, and National Treasure? I have watched both movies, and the soundtracks to them sound remarkably simular.

I sometimes/not really/barely listen to the orchestra music. I listen to the movie's soundtrack, though. =3

  • Music is an essential to movies and plays a big role in movies. Sets the mood and environment. It's crazy though, how they find like the perfect song for movies. x]

This made me think of the Halloween music. Haha <3
Sometimes I don't even notice music in movies if I'm
too deep into the movie. Other times, I notice
whenever music starts and stops.

I do that a lot. After almost every movie I watch, I would find the soundtrack and listen to the music and think about how the music made a difference to the movie. :D

fallenangel112705 10-27-2007 04:11 AM

It depends on the movie because some movies i notice the music but others i get so into that i kinda tune it out.

I love listening to the music in movies. I've downloaded so many songs from movies I can't even count them.

inseCuREly 10-29-2007 04:03 AM

Mmhmm. I have a bunch of soundtracks. I love music in movies though; it really does add to the feel, and I do remember that in Kingdom of Heaven, my favourite part was, in fact, the music.

Right now, I'm addicted to the Across the Universe soundtrack, even though I haven't seen it yet. <3

MasterChiefrei 10-29-2007 05:30 AM

Are you kidding!? Without music how could we set up the mood or make a certain part scary or make your heart race along with the characters!? Do I listen to the music?!.
Yes. XD I love the music in movies and usually I'll listen to it so much I can tell you what part is happening where just because of the soundtrack. The first time I saw Lord of the Rings I ran out and got the music because it was so beautiful. I know the Hook soundtrack by heart and many others. I love music in movies and musicals even better. >w< Favorite Composers have to be John Williams and Danny Elfman <3

I love listening to movie music. The scores help to set the mood. I like getting sound tracks and listening to the instrumental music. Sometimes I play a little game where I try to identify the instruments that are used. I also try to find movie music sheets and books, they're my favorites to get from the library. I play the clarinet and the piano, and the music from movies are the most fun to play.

Oh good, I thought that my friends and I were the only ones crazy about soundtrack...If you like "kingdom of Heaven" then you should listen to "The Village" soundtrack. If you can find it then I applaude you. My friend ended up having to buy it online. Good soundtracks are so hard to find.

Being a great lover of music I ALWAYS listen to the music scores. Most of the time I absolutely love the music and I like to see that the composers and writers did a fantastic job on setting the mood/theme for the area the characters are in. The music also makes the movies more interesting, if there were no music I do not think I could watch a movie..

Tank_Girl 10-30-2007 04:41 AM

Ohhh boy.
I've been known to like or dislike a movie solely based on the the music they choose to use in it. If the music suits the movie, even if I hate the song[s], then I tend to like the movie, unless the storyline just really sucks. If the music doesn't really suit the movie, even if I like the song[s], I don't care how good the storyline is, that's just bad composing to me.
Music is really important in my life so I'm kind of opinionated. I do, however, have an extremely varied taste in music. It all depends, I guess.

I have a lot of musicals, so I'll sometimes just put on the movie just to listen to the music. I might not even be in the same room as the television. Also almost all of my CD collection is made up of soundtracks. They're the only CDs I feel that are worth buying. So yes, I do pay attention to music in movies. Now I might not be able to tell you who the composer was, and sometimes not even the artist singing, but I can usually tell you what movie a song is from after seeing the movie. : D

There are some movies that do have a great soundtrack, like The Royal Tennenbaums. It's rare that I like a soundtrack for the famous songs and original compositions, so this one was a happy surprise for me. Go check it out- it's fantastic!!

topostarlight 10-30-2007 10:46 PM

I usually listen to the music, and when its really good, I'll buy the soundtrack.

aonith 10-30-2007 11:05 PM

Not in the all movies. In the past I dodn't listen to it at all, but now, I do, when it comes to such movies like Memories of geisha, Pirates of Caribbean and so on..

PixelBabii 10-31-2007 12:32 AM

Yes, but some times I'm so occupied
with the plot of the movie itself that
I forget about the soundtrack.

Clair Voyant 10-31-2007 12:55 AM

Sometimes that's the reason I love the movie!Because the music rocks! The music in the movie
"The Secret Of Roan Inish" had great music! I loved listening to it! I wish I had it!

Bunai 10-31-2007 10:49 PM

of course i do!
it would just be a play production if there wasnt music XD

what disappoints me. is when you want the song from a movie. and its not available on CD or anything

Sethirius 11-01-2007 12:08 AM

I do listen to the music from movies. I actually have a few movie soundtracks, in my music collection. 8)
