Woohoo, Getting ready for a mini-marathon

The first thing I'm going to do is make my confession;

I'm addicted to the 'Underground'
Tonight starting at 12:30AM (EST) The Underground begins with the 1956 release of "The Werewolf", followed by the 1975 Release of "Death Race 2000" & ending with "Rollerball" released in 1975 as well.

It's going to be a good (but LONG) night. Lol.

I'll post my personal review of each movie after the marathon is over and I get some rest. Oh yeah... Just to warn you... I haven't found a movie I didn't like, and I've seen about 400 or so movies since I began keeping track, lol.

What's that? At least five hours of solid movie watching? ...Think of the pain your eyes will be going through.

Lol, It'll be worth it. I haven't done one in a LONG time.

I think the longest one I attempted was "The Godfather" (I, II, & III) from start to finish. The last one I did was "The Thin Man" and that was about 2 months ago, so I think I'm way overdue for a marathon.

Dodn't drink to much, or you might miss something while in the little boys room.

LMAO! I'm more worried about running out of popcorn or dozing off (again).

Review of "The Werewolf" (1956 Release)

It's another great interpretation of the "Werewolf" genre. One of the things that stood out to me, the movie pulled away from the 'traditional' cult films. The movie didn't have any of the typical items associated with Werewolf movies.

Normally in a Werewolf movie a werewolf occurs when a human is bitten by either a wolf, or another werewolf. The human transforms into a werewolf when a full moon is visible, but soon as the full moon sets, or is hidden by clouds they return to human form. The only way to destroy a werewolf is by a silver bullet piercing the heart. This movie abandons all those and went a completely different route. Instead of the Werewolf being a 'supernatural' occurrence, this movie perceives it as the result of some scientific tests gone wrong.

"The Werewolf" is definitely a nice change of pace compared to the 'traditional' werewolf movies.

Review of "Death Race 2000" (1975 Release)

My first thoughts were "This would make an awesome game". The plot's pretty simple. Racers compete in a cross country earning points by hitting innocent pedestrians. The movie takes place in the year 2000 (released in 1975, so at the time it was a futuristic movie). I've always had a fascination of older Futuristic movies that supposedly take place at a time that has passed. It's cool to see what they thought the future would be like and be able to look back to see how close or far off they're predictions were.

It's definitely a 70's car movie. It's listed as a horror film but to me it was more of an action adventure / comedy. It's a good movie to kill an hour & a half.
