The first Resident Evil was awesome! I saw it in the theater and I thought it was a truly great horror film. I especially liked that it was different from most other horror movies, even other zombie movies.

In fact, what I liked about the first one was absent from the second and third ones, which is why I didn't like them as much. The first one was sharp and unpredictable. Their isolation and not knowing what was going on gave the first one so much suspense. The other two just turned out kind of cheesy, imao.

Lol, that is true!

I remember thinking that the movies were pretty cool when they first came out, but to tell you the truth, I can remember very little about the first two. ._.; I keep thinking 'If I liked the first ones so much, why can't I remember them? Were they really as good as I thought?' But I have recently watched the third one and I really liked it. The whole apocalyptic feel of it was what I liked the most. It seemed a little short, but that might've just been me.

resident evil!!!

for anyone one that likes the movie and wants to discuss it here, come and talk about it, its one of my top choices of movies, and i love it, as well as the video game, so if anyone wants to talk about it?

FrostsHellion 01-30-2008 08:38 PM

Resident evil... thats how it all started. I love these games, i like the movies (even though i think they went WAY off from the source material) and i even liked the novels based on the games. The movies have great music in them, the games have puzzles and traps that even now have me dusting off my old PS1 to head back to raccoon city in style. The voice acting in the original is classic, also if you werent aware of it previously look up "resident evil sex scene" on google sometime, some genius cut up sound bytes from resident evil and strung them together into something that sounds way too wrong but all too hilarious.

vincent 01-31-2008 03:00 PM

yeah, i dont think they should of made the movies without really using the info from the games, no offense but people dont really read books, i would but i probably wouldnt finish, and most people would know the game alot better, and i dont really like the first movie that much the 2nd and 3rd were better, and yes the games left me thinking and sometimes i would forget about them, then go back to them and i could get them for some strange reason, and sometimes i restarted the game cause i was soo stumped, and no i wouldnt look up that stuff....perv! sorry but its true...and i want to go see the new movie that is coming out, it looks awesome and it has my favorite character!!

Bunai 07-06-2008 05:28 AM

i actually liked them

the 2nd Lagged a bit because it spent too much time prepping Nemi. but overall. all three films have been consistent and have flowed nicely

i am HOPING for a 4th
since the Alice Army is awake ^_^

I liked the resident evil movies. They did an excellent job casting Mila Jokovitch to play Alice, she's such a great action heroine and so full of energy it's such a pleasure to watch her. And I bet it saved them a fair bit in make-up as she did quite a lot of her own stunts. I mean by the end of the first film they had virtually stopped putting make-up on her. All those cuts and bruises are real. They came from doing the stunts on the metal floors and such.

I always wondered though, how in the world did that dress' straps not break? That's why I stopped wearing those kinds of dresses, those straps are actually really delicate and break ever so easily!

I was quite amazed when I learnt that manson did the musical scoring, but it really does explain a lot of things. That music alone is really manipulative. The guy only whent and put in tones that you can't actually hear didn't he? No wonder that film scares my pets and get's me on edge. And I don't get on edge very easily.

My favourite part of the first film was the bit with the lasers. How grusome?! Absolutly great! I first caught it on the movie channel after it had been released. I then went to see the other two in the cinema.

My favourite part in the second film was when she ran down the side of the building. A real building! How cool is that? No wonder it's my favourite stunt. It just wouldn't have looked right if they hadn't have done it for real. But I also liked little subtleties throughout the film that aren't really obvious but still make me smile.

The third film was the worst of them. It came on and confused me, and the end didn't really wrap the story up completely and it didn't end on a "OH MY GOD! WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!" basis that the second one did. Plus the whole computer in her brain thing? Total let down, they could have just done so much more with it.

Bunai 07-09-2008 01:29 AM

Lol the indestructible dress.

i loved the laser room...it was sad and gross. it gives you false hope

for some reason i liked the infected kids...i guess i am a person that likes woeful parts in Movies

i liked the action. it sucked that half the people died though...
and then the dead Alice's were sad too. the cliff hanger is annoying, because you dont know if there will be another Movie

she didnt have a Computer in her brain. when they captured here, they put a tracker in her.
she destroyed it with her powers *waves fingers in the air* wooo oooo

Amo_Angelus 07-09-2008 01:33 AM

Well firstly a tracker is a type of computer and secondly it did more than simply track her. It also imobolizes her. A simple tracker can't do that you need some form of computer.

Bunai 07-10-2008 10:28 PM

^_^;;
what stopped her actions was a Computer. that means its a huge machine sending out data
what received that data was a chip. that was in her head. if she was a computer minded type of thing, they could have just done that with any of the dead Alice's. and it wouldnt have matter if they were dead

I loved the entire resident evil trilogy so far, am hoping on a forth movie asap
i loved the concept in the third, of how she'd mutated so far due to all the testing that she had gained a bit of irregular powers
it was a very interesting concept though far fetched and unrealistic to many
i mean considering all that poor girl has been through it was bound to happen honestly
when one toys with natures intentions the impossible can happen right?
i dunno i'm still sad matt died ... i'll get over that one day i'm sure

Gearhead-rin 11-22-2008 03:16 AM

=/ i have nothing against the movies of resident evil but if they wee more cannon say instad of mila playing Alicewho is pretty much a rip off all the re lady's she should have played someone like Claire and followed the story of resident evil 2 that would have made agreat cannon movie.
I thought that the first movie was...Ok a tad dissapointing to not see chris or jill infact.. none of the origional cast. But it did have a few homages to the games like the mansion the angel statue and the crows O_o not to mention the underground lab...even though in the movie its like 50 times the size of the games lab overall a good horror/action movie but not what i would call residentevil.

The second movie i enjoyed. Adding jill Carlos and Nemesis to the mix made it that much more relatable however! in the movie jill had black hair while in the game she had blonde/brown hair And carlos in the movie...Just looks like he should be chris xD
but on the other hand it was much more like the games then the first and in my oppinion is the best of the three movies. xD two things i have against it though is that Nicholai was an umbrella spy in the games if i rmeember but in the movie he was the hero who sacrificed himself, and they severaly weakened nemesis!. in the game nemesis was unstoppable to the point whohe just became a huge blob where as in the movie he is killed by a falling helicopter and no tenticle death scenes was a let down.

As for extinction they got the name right thats when all my interest in the movies dies out xD they chuck the whole resident evil idea out the window add a few re characters hope noone notices...they seem to have forgotten that the t-virus is a virus though xD and viruses to not mutate in to any form. Not to mention the zombies look like rejects from a slipknot concert xD it was also pretty perdictable and a real let down i heard clair redfield was gonna be in it and i was syched she's by far my favorite re chaacter!

over all the 1st movie was good ubut not a good resident evil.
2 was deserving of its title but lacked abit in a few areas
and 3 was an absolute letdown full stop i hope the cannon movie Degeneration rekindles my interest because i am not looking foward to r.e afterlife thats for sure

On a side note magic powers should be left out of resident evil super strenfth is all cool but seriously xD

Mariku 11-23-2008 10:31 PM

I liked the movies, but it was frustrating to watch them seeing as how they were loosely based off the games. The first one was good, the second one was an ok rendition of the Nemesis game, and the 3rd one was completely out there. It was good though. I didn't like some of the characters dying and the loophole of what happened to the little girl, but it was still good. I love the video games better, RE 4 being my favorite. A close second would have to be Code Veronica. I love the story with Claire and Steve. Third would have to be the love story in RE 0. Rebecca and Billy were so cute together.
