What are some of the oldest movies that you've seen?!?

I'm seriously into old movies (well... any movies, lol) and I just thought it's be kind of cool to see who's seen some Oldies, lol. So...

Post those old Movies!!!

Here's some of the oldest movies that I've seen
I'm always looking for older ones (especially Pre-1900).

(1902) A Trip to the Moon
(1914) Hearts and Diamonds
(1915) Fatty's Faithful Fido
(1915) Fatty's New Role
(1915) Fatty's Plucky Pup
(1915) Mabel and Fatty's Married Life
(1915) That Little Band of Gold
(1915) The Cheat
(1918) A Dog's Life
(1919) Delicious Little Devil
(1919) The Busher

I'm not sure what year this came out, but I saw "The Children's Hour" and that's a really old movie. I hated that movie because it really bothered me, especially the end!

Do you remember who was in it?
I've seen the 1961 version with Audrey Hepburn & Shirley MacLaine. It's not on of my favorite movies but I did enjoy Audrey Hepburn's acting in it.

No, but I think I saw the version you saw. I hated that movie alot, but it was an old movie.

What I did like about it was that the subject matter of the Movie was considered 'taboo' at the time of it's release. I thought the cast (& crew) handled it nicely. It reminded me of the Witch Hunts of the 1600's and the Communist Scare of the 1950's. The ending of the movie was a little disturbing (but an unexpected one, lol).

I haven't seen too many MacLaine films so I really can't compare it to some of her other works (I thought she did a great job in her role).

Me being a HUGE Audrey Hepburn fan and seeing almost everyone one of her movies I can say that "The Children's Hour" was one of her best performances (and probably her least famous role).

It was a good movie to me but personally not my cup o' tea.

I can't stand old movies but I have seen some that were pretty intresting. (excluding old tv series.) As you listed, Hearts and Diamonds was pretty decent to watch.

The wife hates it when I turn on a silent film. Heck... she doesn't like any movie that requires reading (and that goes for the imports as well), lol. My obsession with older films got to the point that I had to put a second TV in the living room (My video games didn't help my argument any, lol).

Off the top of my head, I'd just like to recommend some Klaus Kinski films. Everything he touched should really be considered a classic. I consider that man the last true actor.

My favorites:
Aguirre, the Wrath of God
Woyzeck
Morituri
Cobra Verde

Now that I look at these movies, they really aren't all that old. I don't know why I always picture them as 1930s-40s.

"Whatever Happened to Baby Jane" is a really good old black and white movie. <3 Joan Crawford's in it, so you know it's got to be good. xD It's one of thoes creepy type movies that they dont really make much any more... It's not scary, but you get a chill down your spine when you watch it.

"Hush... Hush... Sweet Charolte" is also another good one. =) Joan Crawford was supposed to be in it (And she is... for three secondes. xD), but then she got sick, so someone else had to take her role... But, it also has one of the main charcters from Whatever happened to Baby Jane in it, so you can get a nice connection with the charcters.

But, yeah, thoes are some of my favorite black and white movies. I highly recomend them. <3

The oldest Joan Crawford films I've seen were "The Boob" (release 1924), and "The Unknown" (release 1927). Both were GREAT silent films. Joan Crawford in "The Unknown"... *Whistles*.

"Berserk" (release 1967) is a great Mystery/Horror film. I think it's reminiscent of the classic 'who done its'' of the 30's-50's but with a horror twist. (kind of similar to the works of Vincent Price)

I checked out a list of Klaus Kinski films and seen he did a variation of the "Doctor Zhivago" in 1965. That'll be a must see for me. I don't know why but I do like seeing the different interpretations of that story. One of my favorites has to be the 1932 release of "The Island of Lost Souls" with Bela Lugosi and Kathleen Burke. I'm a HUGE fan of Both!!!
