I was watching the Ellen show when this happened and the news popped up saying that Heath Ledger had passed away. It was a real shock and currently still is. Right now authorities are saying that Mr. Ledger was under a lot of stress because of the movie roles he recently played and wasn't getting enough sleep. It's believed that in an attempt to stay asleep he took too many sleeping pills and never woke up. Some theories state that the intensity from the role he played as Joker from the Dark Knight movie made it difficult for him to rest thus why he took so much medication.
Right now nothing is confirmed but soon we should have official news about the cause of death once the autopsy is done.
For those who don't know he starred in 10 things I hate about you, A Knight's Tale, The Patriot, Brokeback Mountain, Brothers Grimm and countless other movies.
These two are pictures of him for those who don't know him by name.

Drug overdose! They found a bunch of pills around his body. His masseuse and housekeeper found him unconscious.

Rule of thumb: Overdosing can and WILL kill you, if not severely ruin your body, no matter the drug.

I'm not too saddened. Sure, it's the loss of a life, but I thought he was a terrible actor other than the Patriot. I almost sort of laughed and didn't believe it.

Personally, and hilariously enough, I think it might have been the hatred and flaming of that Brokeback Mountain movie that came back to haunt him. *Shot*

Yeah, yeah, hate me for saying it, but drug overdose is absolutely stupid. He obviously wanted to either die or feel good. He got the former.

I haven't seen anything that he was in (though I wanted to see The Brothers Grimm, I just never got around to it), it's very very sad. He was so young. 28.

Windy- It fine and well to state your options, but the way you did so is insensitive and inappropriate considering the circumstances.

I am sorry to hear this. This is the second actor that I know of to die this month. (The other being Bran Renfo). I like his work and am saddened to hear this.

*to Windy Withdrawal* I know that it was overdose now but please don't speak ill of the dead. He's facing his demons now but he was a good actor and thank you Cherry Flavored Antacid for reminding me that he was in Brothers Grimm as well. I just hope that this was accidental...I know that movie was crap but he was a good actor to go through with it...no matter the views on homosexuality.

*to Cherry Flavored Antacid* It was a good movie and yeah, that's why I was so shocked because he was very young. T^T

*to Iheart801* Exactly, that's what I meant...twas insensitive the way Windy put it. I liked Renfo as well...

I am deeply hurt by this! I popped on my internet and right on the front page of MSN it said that. I loved the movies I saw with him in them, good actor, and cute. I'm going to miss seeing him in new movies.

*to icey_paradise* Me too, I couldn't believe what was happening and even froze for a moment. I just realized that he's the Joker in the Darknight movie but...what are they going to do? Was it finished or do they have to recast due to his sudden departure? I know this really isn't important but I'm curious as to what will be done.

Was he the redhead in A Knight's Tale? The one who went around nude for that part? Or no? -totally forgot-
Regardless, I barely know the man, and even if he has been in crappy movies (surprisingly enough, I've only seen one or two of the movies of his listed o.o), acting is acting. If someone's gonna disrespect a screen actor's performance, it should be professionally done, and not sloppily. Not to sound harsh or particularly snobbish, but acting is something that is merely perspective, optimism, and all of that jazz.
Sure, an actor may lack that emphasis in the true emotion or physical attachment department, but they're still entitled to a certain amount of understanding. o 3o;

No no no!!!!! He was the main character Sir. William *Orrick dubbed by the crazy writer* in A Knight's Tale so no get confuzzled please. ><; Maybe I should post a picture. Indeed, an actor should be judged by people with the pedigree to do so yadada but anyways he was awesome...darn it.

*to Aisha Woku* No...not a joke...but everyone seems to be thinking so. O.o

It just seems odd.... Right before a movie release. And a popular movie at that. : S

It's the new Batman movie that's coming out *the Dark Knight*, Heath plays the Joker and the movie was finished before he passed away.

*to Iheart801* It's done

I thought it was a joke too when my friend told me just now, but he said he saw it on CNN and well, it looks like it's true. It's very sudden. I don't know too many films of his but I liked his performance in Brokeback Mountain and I was really really looking forward to seeing him as Bob Dylan and the Joker. They had finished filming it right? It's due to be released this summer, so they've definitely finished filming it.

Weird. And I agree with the others, Windy, that was really harsh. You can have your own opinion and you can give your critiques (although this is really bad timing for critiques on the man!) but at least give proper critique. :/

My mom just SPAZZED when I told her that Heath Ledger died. xD'
Sorry if the "xD'" isn't appropriate there; I personally thought it was somewhat funny, since I hadn't known him myself. o 3o;

You're just out of the loop Facade. You're just not cool enough. 8)

I liked him in Four Feathers, A Knight's Tale, Casanova, and Brokeback Mountain.

They did finish the movie and I wish this was a joke and was really upset at people who thought it was because they were getting pissy. I'm thinking, "It's all over the frackin news, turn on your tele's, radios, whatever but it's true ya newbs!" But yeah...
Thanks for agreeing about the harshnss that wasn't necessary.

*to Nexess* New York post eh? For shame. XD Kidding

*to Facade* Well...he was a great actor and person and it's not funny when a person dies but I guess seeing a parent spaz at anything would be funny...I dunno

Incase someone would like to read the new york post's version that I read here's a link to it -

http://www.nypost.com/seven/01222008...ead_916418.htm

It's extremely sad, considering how good an actor he was and how young he was as well, it makes you think about why he'd do it or if he meant to do it at all.

Aw. I liked him in 10 Things I Hate About You and Brokeback Mountain. I'm looking forward to his portrayal of the Joker in Dark Knight.

I'm shocked and sad now.

He was found in Mary-Kate Olsen's apartment? 0.o That's kind of odd.
