Samurai Jack

A couple years back Genndy Tartakovsky the creator of Dexter's Lab brought out a cool show that lasted four season.
It's name was Samurai Jack: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samurai_Jack

I got all four season on DVD and he is planning to get the movie out soon. Does anyone remember this series?

Hmmm... haven't heard of that show though it sounds familiar.

I loved that show! It was so badass! I don't know why it was canceled. D:

Glad to hear they're making a movie. :3

I vaguely remember disliking that show xD It was always a little too tacky for me.

I second the post above me. I never did like the show, but I remember all the boys in my class were like obsessed with it.

Tacky? Really?

I always thought it was genius. Well, I take that back. When I first heard the name, I thought it sounded tacky.

But the actual show is great. The animation is top notch, and it conveys a real sense of atmosphere and drama. It's a perfect fit for a movie.

What you don't like seeing a half naked samurai(with his hair down) trying to save the world from evil?

I don't know, they left us with a cliff hanger where he returned the baby to his mom. But I'm trying to keep Jack alive with my fanfic that I working on.

I agree this is a great series ever did you know they got the idea for the sparten episode from the 300? It's true check out the episode and the movie and you can see they are almost the same.

I know, I always figured I kept missing an episode when they just put it on repeats instead of the last episode.

Uhh, are you sure about that spartan thing? Isn't 300 a graphic novel?

Yeah they got idea for it from reading that and some history books as well.

I actually really liked Samurai Jack. I didn't when I first heard of it, but after watching some I got hooked. They made an effort to make the plot clever and the animation was very good. It's definitely a lot better than some of the other cartoons they're showing nowadays. =/

At the time when it came out, the idea of the story didn't appeal to me that much...so I never watched it more than a few minutes.

Looking back, I think I should have given it a chance. I probably would have liked it. D:

I loved the art style - it was and still is completely different from ANYTHING I've ever seen before. Seriously, I've never seen any other cartoon that did not use dark outlines. It was very different...and I loved that.

Now I'm tempted to go back and find it somewhere so I can know what I missed. D:

I used to watch this show all the time and thought the animation and story was pretty good. Did he ever "end" it or is the movie suppose to do that? It's been so long since I've last seen it that hearing about a movie now is a tad odd. I wish CN would put the show back on and run it in order.
I do remember the episode where he learns to "jump good" XD It was one of the most frequent ones I caught on CN

Ferra 02-03-2008 09:03 PM

Unfortunately I'm fairly sure it didn't end. =/ It was one of the ones that actually had a plot but never finished it.

The thing that makes me sad is that even if they make a movie, the voice actor for Aku died a year or so ago. So unless his parts were already recorded a long time ago, he'll have to be replaced. >__< I thought he fit the role perfectly.

My dad and I used to watch it like every thursday at 10:39 on cartoon network. We just got season one. It's a good series!
