Speed Racer The Movie
Okay well I'm really excited about the Speed Racer movie set to come out in May of this year. Link to trailer Link to Cast
Emile Hirsch(The Girl Next Door) is set to play Speed. I can't wait. I really like him and I'm looking forward to the movie. I know I want to see it...do you? o_O |
The only reason why I'm going to see this is because Bi/Rain is going to be in it. x3 He was cast as Taejo Togokhan.
Mm, well, and perhaps to relive memories of watching Speed Racer as a kid. ^^ |
Never heard of it, it probably still has to be released here in the Netherlands. :o

Yeah...the only people who will truly go see it is hard core fans and people who have celeb crushes on the staring actors. It's tragic really. I'm not a hard core fan, but I'm a dork so yes...I'll go see it. n_n;;

I'll go see it, i have no crushes to speak of (except john goodman :wink: , he was the bomb in blues brothers 2000) and i'm no fan of speed racer the cartoon but the movie looks like its gonna be pretty wild. From the same guys who brought us the matrix and who should be bringing us the dragon ball Z movie...

I'm honored to say that my mom as a kid used to watch this show religiously and when I started to get hard core into anime she showed my brother and I this show. *we bought it at a HyVee when she saw the movie*
We haven't stopped making fun of her *kidding, not mean* since. XD She used to have a crush on Speed and the cheesy animation and such made us laugh really hard. So after the movie I started getting her gag stuff by buying her all the Speed Racer apparel I could find. And then when we knew this movie was going to come out I told her I was taking her to see it. Instead of rolling her eyes and getting defensive she agreed. XD This movie does look flippin awesome and it'll be fun to see such an old anime classic to be performed as a live action film. ^w^ |

I really haven't much of a clue about what it's about, but I saw a preview for it a few days ago, and fell in love with the lighting, contrast, and the picture. I'm pretty well drawn to it just for that reason. xDDD

I watched the trailer awhile ago, and it looks like it's mostly meant to be a kids movie. I might see it anyway though. But I bet hardcore fans will be a little disappointed.

Remembering the show, in retrospect is seems kinda cheesy, but I really liked it when I was younger.
I rememeber the little commercials that showed the cartoon on Cartoon Network and everything... looooong ago lol. |

Looks so terrible. Might rent it to see Rain out of curiosity. He doesn't actually speak any english...should be interesting. XD I feel sorry for that guy, he really wants to be popular over here, but if you can't speak english it aint gonna happen.

I'm worried about how it's gonna be executed. The actor who's starring as Speed Racer has a...blank/constipated...look on his face. -__-;;

xD Not only was it a great show, and not only does this adaptation look really colorful and well done and compellingly interpreted... :'D THE MOVIE HAS RAIN IN IT. xD; I am very excited about this and curious to see how his English has improved!!! (Rain/Bi is a famous Korean singer/dancer/actor/model/person). :'D I am really excited for him to be in an American film..! xD; That is a big reason of why we will go see it, though the fact that it is Speed Racer is not lost on me..! :'D It looks really fun, and I am excited about it~ |
I keep wondering why they felt they had to make a movie out of this. I used to watch the original show all the time and I just fear that Hollywood is going to mess it up as they usually do with these sort of things. :(

Me and my brother plan to go, mostly for the nostalgia, since we totally watched it when we were kids.
When I heard about it, I realised I still remember the first three lines from the theme song xDD <3 It looks a bit like a kid's movie, but we don't care! >D We're lame enough to go anyway xD |
