Frequency - [Movie]
Have any of you seen the movie Frequency?
This is one of my favorite movies. I think anyone would snatch a chance to change the past if they could, under certain circumstances. Imagine saving a parent who died in a car crash or received a late cancer diagnosis. The movie also asks should we? If we could change the past, the consequences could cause problems for others and change history. If you could bring your parent back at the expense of someone else's would you? Discuss the movie and the above questions. |
Oh, I love the movie, Frequency! :o This thread makes me want to see it. A few years ago, I used to watch it over and over with my mom now and then, since we both love it.
It really does make you think. If you change one little thing in your past, will it be for the best, or will it have an even more negative outcome? It was really sad, but it had a good, decent ending. I think in most cases, some things won't make but a little difference, and others can make HUGE differences. So it definitely showed what kind of impact changing your past can have. ^^; Especially when there was a serial killer around at that time...very good movie indeed. ^_^ |
We watched this movie in my science class XD I don't remember the reason why we watched it..
But I loved it. They don't make good movies like that anymore :< |

I don't know if I could do it either but I ultimately don't know what I would do if the situation came up. @ Shabiba I love stuff like that, when you're forced to see a movie you wouldn't ordinarily pick on your own and you end up really enjoying it. I watched Remember the Titans in my religion class and Newsies in Journalism and I love both movies. @ Mushy Kylo Hendricks You should totally watch it again. I got my copy pretty cheap, it was like $5.00 at Best Buy. I remember my mom was the one who wanted to see it. She thought it was a horror movie for some reason. I was the one who ended up liking it, I don't think she understood most of it. lol |
I knew nothing about this movie when I watched it the first time. I was just flipping through the cable guide and saw Dennis Quaid listed, so I decided to give the movie a chance.
I enjoyed it, but the stressful moments of the movie were pretty intense. If I was faced with the ability to save someone I loved, I imagine that I would jump at it without thinking about it. I'm sure there would be all sorts of serious consequences as a result, but I don't know if that would ever make me regret it. |
The movie seems to be an interesting one.
I have heard stories in which characters found a way to go back into the past. Sure, I will be happy to change the past but then... it will change my play and way! Think about it. If you can retrieve your parents back from the death, how would you feel? Most will sure be happy, me too if that happened to me. However, there will be this voice inside me saying "this is not right" OR "I won't let them go anymore" ANYMORE As if that would ever happen. Eventually human die. We, human are not eternal being. We have a stop and that is death. No matter how smart you are the bend times you will eventually face death. |
It really was an awesome movie, only problem is a cant think too much on time space relations or the actual physics of time travel. Like... not to nit-pick or anything but in the big climatic scene the bad guy and the good guy are fighting in the living room of what used to be the good guys parents house. Suddenly the timeline re-alligns and the whole decor of the house changes, apparently he changed time enough so that his dad lived thusly the house is no longer his... so why would he have still been there fighting?
Its a great story, with great acting and some decent special effects... But overall there alot you have to look past if you actually like analyzing movies. Didnt they make a cash-grab sequel for this movie? Or am i thinking of white noise and stir of echos again? |

There are several things I would bring up myself. - Johnny's girlfriend not remembering him is pretty convenient for a second chance ending. - Why would Johnny remember the changes in history while no on else does? - Is it really conceivable that no one, including Frank would remove his wallet from the window seat? - It's kind of weird that a guy who had his hand blown off by a shotgun would heal without seeking medical attention and had he sought medical attention he would have been exposed as the murderer, which would mean it would no longer be feasible for him to be in Johnny's house in the future. If the furniture changed instantaneously shouldn't he have no longer been there as well? - No one thinks it's the least bit odd that Frank happens to know where the cop lives and where he keeps his souvenirs from the murders. Or why he was at the scene of the crime. They just let him go home, supposedly with a dead cop in the harbor. But, I think this is still one of the better ones I've seen if you're willing to allow for the inconsistencies. Also, I know for sure that White Noise has nothing to do with Frequency. I also hated it. D: |
