This is the first time I've seen an American Idol thread on Menewsha! Nice to see one when I finally like people during a season, though not many. xD

I missed most of last nights episode, but from the recaps, I liked about four of the guys in general, not really rooting for a guy to win. I was esspecially happy to see someone sing Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah."

Out of all the guys last night, though, I think my top favorite was the one who redid a song that Randy called "emo." I haven't taken the time to remember any of the guys names. xD; But I have given them all identifying personas for when I see them. At least the ones I wouldn't mind winning, if it HAD to be a guy. (Perhaps I'll learn their names Thursday night.. xD)

Carly Smithson is coming in fast as a person I wouldn't mind winning, just don't really prefer to the other two. I can't really comment on the rest of the girls yet, they haven't been very impressive or enjoyable for me yet.

I want Asiah to go bye bye, though. I don't like her style, or her voice. :\

The guys did really well last night. I'm watching the girls now...So far, so good.

Last night seemed pretty boring to me :( I think Kristy Lee Cook or Amanda are gonna go home, but vote for the worst has Amanda as their candidate, so i'm sure she will be here for a while. Why did they just like, stop at the 80s? I could have sworn that they were gonna do 90s this week. Oh well.

I completely and utterly disagree with who went home tonight but I guess he just didn't have much of a fanbase. :( It sucks but he's definitely talented enough for some company to pick him up so I think he'll be okay.

I haven't watched it enough to know there names honestly. I've only ever seen a few bits of the weeks when my Mom had it on. She watches it faithfully. I think she liked the young kid. From what I saw I thought the guy with dreads was pretty good.
I used to watch American Idol pretty reguarly but I just get so annoyed with it all these days that I stopped watching. The audition process is pitful and I find Ryan Secreast to be pitiful and incredibly annoying. Soooo, theres my rant on the show. :wink:

I cant really say I like any of them....That one little boy is a good singer. Doesnt mean I would run out and buy his record tho...

I do not watch American Idol anymore I think it is fixed after what they did with Chris Daughtry he should have won. I think it was stupid and a cover up to get him off of the show. I have never watched them since. My husband still does, so I know everything going on but I try not to listen.

So this is the first year I have willingly watch American Idol. I Never pictured myself watching this show. But now that I am I'm hooked, sad but true. I really wanted Amanda to win, but I knew she wouldn't, I was just really shocked she got voted off so soon. I'm hardcore rooting for David Cook. That boy can sing amazingly. His verson of Billy Jean was just outstanding. The next person I want to win is Carly Smithson. She is almost as good as David Cook, but not quiet. I really didn't like Ramiele, Chikezie, and Danny Noriega. I really really didn't like him. I accidently cut myself three times because everytime I would look at the tele and see him I would be so mad I would forget I was holding a knife and would get myself. Well that is my ten cents on American Idol.

I want Jason Castro to win. So hard. He has such a great voice! Not to mention I've got a thing for guys with dreds...

I have never been able to watch American Idol. I can see it is sort of appealing but nothing to make me watch it. I personally cannot abide bad singing or off key. Every mistake those kids make, makes me cringe and turn the channel. I can't even watch the initial auditions as they are worse. So I don't know anything about any season, except for what the news covers about it.

I must say that I enjoy Kelly Clarkson's music, but that is only a song or two.

Honestly, I hate American Idol now. I used to watch it religiously during whatever season Fantasia was in, but after that season I tired of the show and quit watching.

The tryouts are amusing, and I'll watch them if I catch them just because some of the people are so bad it's hilarious. Especially how they all think they're the shit and either complain or demand second chances (probably staged, but still funny)...

But after that, it's formulaic and boring. After the top 12, you may as well quit watching because it's blatantly obvious who is going to win. It's also clearly staged-- they specifically put the obvious winner in the bottom three at least once for dramatic effect.

And once you get down to the bottom two, it doesn't matter anyway because they both end up being huge stars. Except for that Reuben guy, who got completely ignored in favor of Clay Aiken. I hate Clay Aiken.

This year has been good. I've liked quite a few contestants. I really like Jason Castro and David Cook but I also loved Carly. I was sad to see her go. The only problem I have this year is David Archuleta. I think he will win without much trouble but I think he will go the way of Ruben Studard and no one will care afterward. He only sings slow, sad ballads and every time he tries to pick up the pace it turns out badly. He also absolutely ruined my all time favorite song so... that didn't go well.

This past week's elimination was total BS because the voting clearly didn't even take into consideration the performances that were given the night before. Carly had the strongest performace and she left. Both Brooke and Jason had awful AWFUL performances and they weren't even in the bottom two.

It just kept on slipping my mind to search for it. Anyways I just have to say that I am a fan of David Archuleta (like many people are). Although I can't vote for him since I live in Canada, but I definitely cheer for him all the time.

I am also cheering for a David v. David final, I am absolutely sure that this year there will be a male American Idol :P

I was rather disappointed to see Carly go. I thought last week she was the best out of all the performances last week. :s

Carly should not have gone. It should have been Sayesha to go that week. Oh well.

I am sad to see Carly go!! I loved her and if she puts out an album, I will buy it.

Now I am rooting for David Cook, Archuleta, Brooke and Jason - basically everyone EXCEPT Sayesha.

I definitely found it odd that Carly went, although I never liked her too much so I wasn't sad to see her leave. I think that either Brooke or Syesha should have left that week. I don't know how Syesha has stayed so long in this competition, especially with the fact that she has been in the bottom 2 countless times.
I have read some articles about AI and people are almost sure that it is a guy going home this week, so my bet is that Jason might be leaving even though he is quite popular.
Week 4 has always had shocking eliminations, so I am anxious to see what happens. I would be completely devastated if David Archuleta was cut although I really can't see that happening to him.

The finale is definitely looking like a David v. David one and it will be a very close call. ><
