{TV} Jekyll
-----------> The BBC's Jekyll~ I've seen the first 4 episodes of this series and well...I've developed a serious crush on it. It's just very amusing and wonderful and just. oh goodness. I can't wait till Sunday for the last two eps. Sooo~ in short, discuss? Has anyone else seen it? I'm kind of...not knowing of anyone else who's seen it D: |
I saw that when it was on first time round. Saturday night after Casulty I was hooked on it. I didn't see the twist at the end comming, really great series. They way they did it was great it made you want to watch it all the more after seeing the first episode. I couldn't wait to see the rest of it after seeing the first episode actually the eyedents the BBC did for it made me want to watch it. I want to watch it again now.

This is it's first time airing here (Australia) aaaand it's right after Robin Hood , which is pretty awesome. I actually missed the first two episodes, but was hooked on the third and forth (which meant I had to hunt down the first two eps). I'm the same as you now though - I can't wait for Sunday and the 'conclusion'. The 'I want more' syndrome is so nasty~ I found it through the channel advertising, but forgot for the first week. Our National broadcaster has some really great shows :swoon: |
I live near the real Sherwood Forest, so every time I watch a Robin Hood drama/film I can say "That's not Sherwood Forest", because Sherwood Forest doesn't look anything like what they show on TV some of them are closer than others but most are way off what it really looks like.
I can't believe that the BBC hasn't realsed Jekyll on DVD, it's only a short series but they normally release a DVD for popular shows. I would buy that DVD. Jekyll is one of the better BBC dramas that they've made, I want to see it again but it's probibly going to be ages before they put it back on or relase a DVD. The ending is really twisted, it only clicked with me what was going to happen just before it happened. Normally I can predict what is going to happen before it happens, but the writing for Jekyll made it pretty much impossible to guess how it's going to end. |
Jekyll was an odd show. Unfortunately because there was a week between each episode, I got quite confused. :/ I wouldn't mind watching it again on DVD, since I did quite enjoy it. :D

Well...the Robin Hood series on at the moment is pretty much just for giggles. The first season kept vaguely to the old stories, but this one at the moment is basically for fun. ...and I just like oogling at the forest (and Sir Guy). 'cause well...we don't get many forests (or guys) who look like it/them. I think they might be releasing a DVD of it at some stage. The Wikipedia article says something about it. It'd be silly not to D: Gah~~ I'm like that as well. So it'd be nice to have a surprise at the end of a series for one~ Neshaka It's odd...but in a good way~? There's a week between double eps here. But that’s how they air most BBC shows here. It does get a little annoying, but you kind of...learn to remember things :> |
Odd in a good way sums it up nicely. xD
I just tend to get interested in one or two episodes, then watch the DVDs. xD It's not the cheapest way to do it, but it sure is nice. ;3 |
I said "ooo" and sat up immediately when I saw this post! I just watched Jekyll with my best friend this past month and I must say, I enjoyed it a whole lot. Sure, it wasn't perfect, but it was very very well done, suspenseful, and an interesting take on the whole story.
I'd predicted a certain end to it, and I was thrilled that they didn't use it and instead went for something more meaningful. There was a point at the very end that I wasn't happy with, but the rest of the series made up for it. But yeah, very very good. Yay! I'm glad other people like it, too! |
Ah, Jekyll. I thought it was an interesting take on the story. I did find it a bit hard to wrap my brain around but ultimately, by the end, I found it all supremely worth the effort.
