the son of rambo!?

ok... so ive never seen any of the "rambo" movies... but... thats because they all looked really stupid to me. the other day, i saw a poster for "the son of rambo" and i freaked out a little bit..... especially since the remake of "rambo" was so recent. do you think they should give up on this series already!? or do you recommend the movies to me.....?

My Dad really likes them but I've only seen bits and parts of a few random ones. Personally, I always found the whole Rambo franchise a bit stupid and overdone as well. All the movies are the same to me. I don't see the point of making any more.

Its actually called son of rambow, its about some kids that try making a film based on rambo, it looks pretty decent from what the trailer shows. But yeah, its no relation to the Rambo films, just a brit comedy.

:)

And that recent one wasnt a remake, but another Sequal, kinda sad considering Stallones in his 60s i think, I havent seen it yet tho, so I wont judge it. The others are worth checking out. Yeah, they're over the top, but they're part of film history, Rambo was one of the first action heros and the hero of many kid as they grew up. The storys are abit shallow, but the actions great, defo look into them some time.

I don't know why you're posting about Rambo when you've never even seen "First Blood."

The Rambo movies are awesome. Stallone is awesome. They've got some far-fetched elements, but good plot at heart. Take the first movie, "First Blood," for example. Rambo is a Vietnam veteran, homeless, trying to look up an old war buddy. But he finds that his friend has died from agent orange (I think it was). So he's in a stupor, trying to cope with the loss of one of his best friends and figure out what to do and where to go, since he doesn't know the town and he had been hoping for some good times and friendly company.

So Rambo heads into town to get something to eat, and the sheriff starts hassling him about being a veteran and a vagrant. It's really a story about how Vietnam vets were treated when they came back from war.

Yes, it's completely ridiculous that he kills off the entire police force and blows up half the town, and they call the army to come and pick him up (like, the WHOLE army), but the point of the film is to show what a difficult time these people had, how badly they were treated and disrespected for following orders, and how easily it would be for them to snap after all the psychological trauma they sustained.

I didn't get a chance to see the new Rambo movie, but I'll get the DVD when it comes out. Stallone is awesome. I saw a picture of him just a few months before the film, and he was so freaking fat, he didn't even look like himself. So for him to be able to get back into great shape like that...yeah, gotta admire him.
