The Mighty Boosh
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...chan/main1.jpg
The Mighty Boosh is a British comedy show staring Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt and some other people. I recently got into it and absolutely LOVE it. I think I've seen every episode except for like two or three in season two. Is anyone else here a fan? |
boosh boosh the mighty boosh
ok sorry if theres already a thread about the mighty boosh but i just had to say that I LOVE THEM!
if you havent seen the mighty boosh before first CHECK THEM OUT ON YOUTUBE then you can read this:P :- its a british surrealist comedy and one of the only decent things on tv at the moment. its about these two guys that bicker all the time but they are best mates. im the first series they work in a zoo together. in the second series they get a flat and start a band together. and in the third series they get jobs in a boutique shop. One of the guys, Vince Noir, is played by noel fielding. he is fashionable, thick and cheery. the other guy, Howard Moon, is played by Julian Barret. he is miserable, unpopular and completely lame and geeky AND AMAZING. I love them both but Howard is definitely the funniest because he has dead pan humour and a brilliant moustache. i think the reason they are so good is because like all good double acts, they are like different halfs of the same person. and together they make a person way too similar to myself:O when i go out with my friends i go all vain get dressed up and party hard but i have my secret shy side that is too geeky and lame to show to many people. i guess everyone feels a bit like that though so im not moaning about it. but seriously check it out cos its the best british comedy about just now and its got lots of really cool wee songs in it (written by julian mostly) and its got magic and animals and things which you dont usually get in sit coms. so yeah if you've never seen it have a scope and tell me what you think about it |
Soup soup a tasty soup soup a spicy carrot and coriander chili chowder crouton crouton crunchy friends in a liquid broth!
|
haha the crimps are amazing ^_^ im glad someone else likes the boosh. where are you from?
you know nothing of the crunch ^_^ |
You can't handle the crunch! xD
I'm from England. : D You too? edit; I read your profile - Scotland, eh? Is it snowing heavily up where you are? |
Yay, Boosh. I've got tickets to see the live show at the end of this year (the first date in Newcastle to be precise) so I'm looking forward to that.
Heh, it's nice to hear from another Howard fan too. All my friends love Vince because they fancy Noel so much! Overall though my favourite character is Naboo. He definitely gets some of the best lines. "Where's my frog?" The original radio show is worth checking out too. I have it on my iPod so I take take the Boosh with me wherever I go. |
I'm seeing them in October, I can't wait. ^^
|
I too love The Mighty Boosh, I've got all three series on dvd and can't stop watching them ^^
Although I have to say that one of my favourite episodes is The Legend of Old Gregg, it's genius :) One of the best songs too "do ya love me, are you playin your love games with me" hehe :D Watcha doin in my waters |
I love Love Games too, but my favourite episode would either be The Nightmare of Milky Joe or Tundra. ^^
|
Can't say I've ever heard of it.
|
Come with us now on a journey through time and space, to the land of the Mighty Boosh...
Love that show, but you are wrong, Bolo rocks :P Not enough of him and Naboo in Series three tho... Ahwell, the shows great, BBC Three have got something good going there. My fav episode is the one where Howard dies and goes to monkey hell. Haha, theyre all mint tho! |
eggs, milk and flour, pancake power,
look at his milky yellow sunshine face flip it now flip it good oo flip it now flip it good oo some are salt some are sweet some are fruit some are meat the time we used the chive it really came alive! edbile frisbies springtime tuesday I like to boogie~ xD |
yay i seem to have got the coolest brits in one place ^_^
lol was quite snowy earlier this week but its too sunny for the snow to lie for long:(im gutted because i wanna go sledging so bad (lol even though im 19 im such a big kid when it comes to snow) haha yeah everyone post your favourite crimps! running round paris with a tiny havarsack! my favourite episode is the legend of milky joe but i love old gregg as well. i really like the acoustic version of love games song from old gregg that was on the joe whiley live lounge session for radio one. if you wanna check out the acoustic version it is on youtube me thinks. i have had the song future sailor stuck in my head for weeks and weeks lol. when i watched the first series it was electro boy and then when i watched the second series i had isolation stuck in my head! howard - you've fallen into the trap vince - what the trap of enjoying your life? |
Heh, I love the (possibly) original crimp Calm a llama down. I had it on my old mobile phone for ages. My mum loves the bouncy castle crimp and she used to sing the little bits she could remember all the time. "Stilettos are a no no!"
Electro Boy and Future Sailor sound like they could be real songs. I bet some electro bands are out there kicking themselves for not thinking of them! |
I'm pretty sure Electro Boy is a real song.... or is my brain addled?
Anyways, I'm a Naboo fan. I like the Nanageddon song. Cracks me up every time. |
nanageddon
i love how naboo has a moustache in real life at the moment lol he looks so funny!
oh but yeah but no but yeah but no but (cathrine tate style).... the 80s matchbox b-line disaster were nmeant to do the song for nanageddon but could 'because of tour comitments :( well gutting for me because they are one of my favourite bands. i have seen them play four times i think? er... once at the garage, once supporting system of a down (another even more awesome band), once in the barfly and once in edinburgh. at least the mighty boosh got the horrors into the third series - they are pretty cool for a new band since all the kids are into my chemical romance et cetera. but yeah i think guy mcnight is a handsome mutha fucka so here are some 80s matchbox b-line disaster links for if you like them and / or have not heard them before... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryBuw...eature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scfcPKx4eZc&NR=1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcagG...eature=related ps. sorry i got a bit off the topic of the boosh!:S |
Lanackse
Oh, I meant like a real electro band could release it as a single and people would think it was good. Unless it is a cover? Judo Heh, I saw The Horrors in Leeds (Julian land!) before they were that well known and they were absolutely mental. While we were waiting to go in we started chatting to some of their fans and they introduced us to the band when they arrived. Only they introduced themselves with their real names and they looked reasonably normal... imagine the shock I got when they came on stage and Faris was screaming in my face (literally, he got off stage and came right to the front)! I've never seen 80's Matchbox but I loved that song Rise of the Eagles so I got The Royal Society and it's a canny listen. |
I have officially learnt the pancake crimp, much to my friends' dismay.
The soup crimp - fair enough, it's fun to do in unison. But for some reason they think knowing two crimps is too much. xD |
electro boy
electro boy is a cover of their friends band. i dont remeber what they are called but i think the name's similar to robots in disguise (although i may only be saying that because i have the transformers song stuck in my head:S). one of the two girls that are always in it is a member i think (?possiblly?) the one that is not noel fieldings girlfriend (?possibly?).
wow it must have been really cool to see the horrors live. spider webb is so cool i wanna be him! i was so jealous of my mate who went to see them play. she got this really cool souvenier merchandisey thing that looked like a knife handle that said "the horrors" on it but when you pushed the button to flick the blade out it was really a comb! :O i thought it was the coolest thing ever! ...and no you can never know too many crimps lol! if they try and slag you off just say... CRIMPITY CRIMPITY FUCK YOU!!! XD XD XD x x x! |
I can't wait until the 4th series <33
|
Judo:
Oh, I have a Robots in Disguise album but it isn't on it. It's not the sort of music I would normally listen to but I like She's A Colour Scientist and DJ's Got a Gun. I think it's the dark haired girl, Dee, that's Noel's girlfriend. That's funny as well, Rhys 'Spider' Webb was my favourite Horror when I met them. He was wearing a beret and a Velvet Underground t-shirt. Some people are just too darn cool! It's also great fun to make jokes about the fact he plays the organ. Pearl Aww, your friends should respect your love and knowledge for the art form that is the crimp! + Has anyone got the series 3 DVD? I have the other DVD's; I was just curious about what kind of extras there are. I'm not saying it's not worth buying just for the shows, but I might wait for the price to come down unless I can be tempted ;D |
third series
i have the third series on dvd. it has all the usual extras that the others have. things like a making of behind the scenes documentary thing, out takes, the songs, deleted scenes and commentary on three episodes by noel fielding, julian barrett and rich fulcher.
something that is worth checking out though is the documentary they showed on bbc 3 recently. it was all about how all the cast met and how the mighty boosh came about. it has early footage of noel and julian doing stand up together and them talking about their early careers. it also has a the usual arrangement of best of clips and celebrites like jo whiley and vic reeves saying how revolutionary they are and all that. you might still be able to watch it on the bbc website because i know it was up there earlier this week as thats how i saw it. yeah i cant wait for the fourth series either urghh but i know it will not be out until at least next year :( :( :( |
Heh, the documentary was good. I liked the bit when Julian said Noel had left the room full of his words when he was performing, so he had to pretend to get rid of them with a net before he could start.
Thanks for the DVD information Judo. I like the commentary- even when Rich just shouts incoherently! |
I looooove The Mighty Boosh! I just spent half an hour looking for season 3 online, I live in Australia and it doesn't air here and it's doubtful that the dvd will be around for some time... but so many people have seen parts of episodes on youtube, especially Old Gregg, he was the first thing that I saw from the Boosh
Now I'm really excited for season 3, but I have to go to sleep *pouts* |
your welcome for the dvd infomation. yeah it is funny when julian barrett mimes lol i do love a good mime. im next to some logs chaffinch!!! i still can not find my copy of series one *weeps trouser-less in skip* i am convinced one of my friends borrowed it and has stolen it. grr i need to get live tickets.
yay someone who isn't british likes the mighty boosh ^_^ does vince noir's root boosted hair stetch across oceans? |
