I used to go to the movies alone a lot. when there was a theater in the mall. I could go shopping see a movie and eat. with friends or by myself whenever i wanted. Since we had a large stadium theater built the mall theater closed, so now I mosty rent videos and watch them with friends.

It's getting so expensive to go see a movie now.. I can barely afford to waste the money on some of the awful stuff coming out!

Yup! I don't mind going to the movies on my own.. especially to those cultural shows and international film fests that are for free... :3

When I like the movie THAT much, then I'll see if I can encourage the rest of my family or my friends to watch it with me (for the second time)

I have no problem going to the movies alone. I'll go with friends if they are interested, but I don't let a lack of interest in the movie from other people keep me from going myself. Sometimes I even run into other friends at the movie, which can be fun.

That's pretty much my tactic on anything really - I'm willing to fly solo if nobody else is available, and sometimes I just choose to fly solo in the first place.

I did watch "The Simpsons Movie" by myself, well when I went to the first showing.. because I really wanted to see it and watch it at one of the first show times at like 11:55pm. My friends didn't want to go so I just bought a ticket online and went. It was fun because you can enjoy it yourself and whatnot. Though then that Friday I went again to watch the same movie with my friends.

I don't find anything wrong with it, like girliekeyblade said it's nice to go with other people but sometimes it's good just to be by yourself.

Honestly I don't get why people would think it's so strange to like going to the movies on your own! When you're with people, you have to deal with them talking and maybe stealing your moviesnacks or whatever, and that's no fun. Plus, a lot of my friends don't have the same interests as I do, so it would be difficult to dredge up a movie companion in the first place!

I much prefer going to the movies on my own, it's a much more peaceful experience. I feel like I can take in more of the film that way.

When I'm in the mood for it, I don't mind going with a group of friends so much. Sometimes it's fun to heckle the movie and have fun with each other :3

I normally go to the movie theater with my sister, but we usually see different movies. So, I don't actually go to the theater alone, but I see the movie alone.

I don't like going to the movies alone ... I always try to go with someone ... IDK ... I just feel better when someone is with me. But I haven't been to the movies in a long time ... I actually wanted to see that new Hancock movie .. but I was never able too ... lol

I like going by myself... but usually other people want to see the movies I want to see so we end up going together anyways... aside from that I don't drive so I ride the bus so it's nice to get a ride with whoever else is going... and I'm broke all the time so... XD I'm not going to be able to go very often for a while now T_T ... even though I want to see tropic thunder and... something else I forgot the name xD

The last time I went to the movies it was alone. That was a long time ago though.

I don't like going with people. I don't see the point if you are going to just sit there and watch anyway.

I guess It really doesn't matter if I with someone or not but I do like to chat about the movie with someone and If I go alone and no one I know has seen it then I'm sad. But If I go alone and a friend has already seen it then I'm ok cause I can still talk about it. lol.

I don't really like to go alone, but I have before! Always in the afternoon - going at night alone would creep me out. I've been a few times when my 2nd son was born and we couldn't find a babysitter to watch the kids so my hubby and I could go. And he does the same.

Well, I'd go by myself if I were allowed to go anywhere by myself. But I mean, my parents won't even let me go to school by myself yet, so I don't think they'd let me go to the movies. I wanna see movies they think are too mature for me (like Juno, because they think teenage pregnancy is a serious issue and they don't want to give me ideas). It's just absolute poo being an only child.

I got used to doing that.
There's only one person I know who'll go with me, and she lives in another country, and I only see her three times every year.
It's not like there are many good films I'd want to see anymore, though.
They're all the same, now.
And far too much family comedy.

Nu, it just seems weird. Like you're a loner. I don't go alone because i think it wouldn't be much fun.

If I wanted to watch a movie alone, I would go home, curl up under a blanket and put on a really good one.
But at the theater, I'd have to have someone with me. Or I'd go nuts. xp

i NEVER GO TO THE MOVIES ALONE. i ONLY GO TO THE MOVIES WITH FRIENDS OR FAMILY.

I don't go because 1) it's too expensive and 2) I always talk during movies. It's so much easier to watch at home! I can keep quiet, but it's not much fun.

Either with friends or with family. Never by myself... I'd feel awkward...

I don't like to go alone, but I also don't like to go with a huge gaggle of people at the same time.

Personally, one or two friends and myself is plenty for me.

I think I would really like to watch certain movies alone. Some movies which I have watched with people who couldn't really appreciate it so it would be nice to rewatch movies like that without anyone around. Sadly though, I never really made it a point to do that and have never been to the movies alone =.=" I always just end up getting the DVD or downloading it and watching it at home alone...

i dont see anything wrong with going alone, i've done it before...not because i had no one to go with, but because i wanted to go alone, and my friends didn't have any interest in the movie i wanted to see, or they saw it already, and didn't want to see it again. lol

Yeah, on the rare times I do go. I used ask around and wait for people.
I recall I had this gardening friend...I put off going to a movie for this friend of mine. So they could go with me, which was put off.
It was really stupid and I finally went alone and had a great time.
I learned my leason not to wait around for people to have fun alone.

I don't go by myself, I go with my family but we do sometimes go to separate movies when we go there though. That's only because sometimes there are movies that some want to watch and some don't want to watch.

I don't go to the cinema that often, but if i go i rather go with friends. But I don't mind going alone when there is a movie i really want to see and no one wants to come with me.

But it's nice to see a movie with someone else, rather then alone. You have something to share afterwards. I think that is what i like best about going with some company.
