I saw Revenge of the Fallen last Wedsday, the day it came out here in the US. I thought it was pretty good, but I didn't like it as much as the first. There were a few things they could have explained better and they could have used fewer sex jokes. Aside from that it was a pretty good film and I don't see why it gets so many bad reviews.

Saw it in IMAX yesterday. Great story, great action, sub-par humor. Really, it seemed like they tried to force a lot of humor into it where they did not need it to be. Like those two extra robots that pretty much stayed with Sam the whole movie. I hated them, and I was disappointed that they didn't die.

Other than that and a lack of explanation on some parts like Majokko mentioned, I really enjoyed the movie. I haven't decided if it's as good, or better, or worse than the first time. I think it will take a second watching to figure that out.

That movie was EPICKLY GREAT. Well, I enjoyed it. IMO. The action was good for me. The romance was ok. But who cares about romance, it's all about DESTRUCTION.

I thought the movie was awesome.
And the two twin robots, sure all they were there for was comedy relief, but they weren't too bad. Sometimes they were pretty funny. And they did quite well against Devastator.
I'm glad Arcee was in it. Just wish she was in it more. >.< She's awesome lol.

I saw the movie a few days ago and I was slightly disappointed. It seemed like the director was taking it in way to many directions at one. The character development was lacking. Especially when compared to the first movie, where even the static characters were well rounded. I thought that the plot felt like it was pulling you in too many directions at one time. For example, the scene at the end had some major flaws when you had to watch five different characters doing five different things. Most not even slightly related to one another, but which had to happen because earlier in the movie there were too many loose ends. It also felt like it dragged on.

I'd say it is worth going to see in the theater, but only because it is a decent second movie. If I'd gone to the Imax to see it I would have been let down. It is visually pleasing though.
(ends rant)

I haven't seen it and I'm hesitant to because of Skids and Mudflap... I'm getting poorly-written-characters-for-the-sake-of-comic-relief. Really Michael Bay, there's a way to use stereotypes without overdoing it--without alienating some of your potential fans.

It was good. The action scenes are way better than most of the acting in it. The action is why people go see the movie anyway.

I saw it recently. I was happy to see it because I loooove Bumblebee, but a lot of the jokes made me want to face-palm. Especially the incidents with Sam's mom, some moments were just embarrassing to watch.

It was also way too long. Near the end, with the final battle-ish scene, I felt like I was gonna fall asleep. It was like, "are they done yet?" Once you've seen one or two giant robot fight sequences, you feel like you've seen them all.

The whole Skids/Mudflap thing was annoying, too. I read that Bay wrote them like that to entertain kids, but really, they swore so much and had such awful, stereotypical mannerisms and language, it was awful. One of them being voiced by Tom Kenny didn't help much, either.

: Possible Spoilers:

The movie was actually very, very good.
Skids and mudflap's characisation was awsome, so really I've got no complaints there, they were funny and added to the whole movie.
Transformers 2 was like converting Lord of the rings into a movie, it 'coolified' it
(please Lord of the rings fans don't mass lynch me)

They had an awsome soundtrack and the action sequences were very well executed graphic renedering, the robots look very real and it was pure woot when they transformed.
And the Old One (Jetfire) was FULL OF WIN.:insane:

From a technical standpoint, it was an awful movie. The plot was all over the place and not everything was resolved, the movie fell into a bunch of plot holes, there were several uncecessary characters, several characters that just fell off the face of the movie, poorly developed characters, a fair bit of bad acting, forced humor, lots of overdone stereotypes, it was way longer than it needed to be, and if an action scene wasn't on screen, it was Megan Fox in some skimpy outfit, with her make up and hair near-perfect in spite of the giant robots shooting at her.

But I loved it anyway. It's just not a movie you can go into expecting an airtight plot, amazing development and a reason to question the meaning of life- it's a movie you should go into expecting to laugh, be amused by charming, if not dynamic characters, and enjoy some giant robot fights in excellent action sequences with wonderful rendering. I was expecting just that, and I thought it was AWESOME. Giant robots, stuff blowing up, and comedy one doesn't have to think about to understand: basically, it's just a really fun movie.

I liked it a lot better than the first. The first was too much about Sam, this one was more about the Transformers themselves. c: However, I was so dissapointed that they developed Skids and Mudflap (who I loved, they cracked me up), but not the three female autobots! :gonk: I was super excited about them, but they were just sort of the token 'strong female' characters that were in the movie about fifteen seconds. I mean... let's face it. Sam's mom and Mikela? Not strong female characters. At all. Some might argue that Mikela is, but really. She runs around screaming "SAAAAAAAM!" like the whole movie. BOTH times. I imagine there must have been some stink about that, or the female autobots wouldn't have even been a thought. o_o

Also, a lot of the autobots from the first movie didn't get enough screentime- Ratchet and Ironhide like, didn't exist practically, and there was not nearly enough Optimus Prime or Bumblebee.

But mostly I liked it. I liked it a lot!

Oh my god, this movie made me mad. I'm a huge Transformers fan and I thought the movie was bad. What was with all the sex jokes? And the robot humping? Really? Seriously? GAAA! And what was with the ghetto twin? They were super funny, I'll admit, but they were so racy. And Bay had gotten in a bit of trouble for Jazz's speech patterns in the first one so I don't get why he had to go and make it twenty times worse.

The story was ify as well. There were plot holes and unanswered question all over the place (like why only a Prime could kill The Fallen, I found that out by doing a bit of research after the movie. If it was stated in G1 I don't remember it, but I was really little when it was on TV and don't remember much of it (though I own the DVD's, I have to sit and watch them). There were also issues surrounding the all spark shards.

I hate you Michael Bay for ruining it!!

The only really awesome thing about this movie was the battle scenes (which made up most of the movie). They were so well animated! And they were pretty epic.

@ krotos52 - didn't you know, Optimus always comes back. In every Transformers cartoon I've seen he does... except for in Transformers the Movie (the G1 movie). As for the amount of D-con's he took on, ya that was a bit too much, they went a bit too far with the Jetfire upgrades concept.

I just wish there was more Transformers.
For an action movie driven Director... Bay didn't spend a huge amount of time on the Machines.

ANYWAY
I LOVED Jetfire! He was awesome.

Haha. Ya, Jetfire was pretty awesome XD

I can kind of see why there aren't more Transformers though. Too many characters makes a movie confusing.

Haha. I'm re-watching it now and I just made an amusing discovery XD Did anyone notice how when the twins get their upgrades in the beginning one of them starts singing the song from those transforming car commercials, the one where they dance? I had to rewind and re-watch the part just to make sure and nearly died when I confirmed it XD

For those who don't know what commercials I'm talking about, this is it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdAupOO1G1E
