The 3-item challenge operates on a simple premise - use the three selected items to create an avatar. That's it.

This is not a competition. Your only adversary is yourself. ;) Don't worry about what others are doing; focus on using your creativity to make an outfit that suits yourself. If you're pushed out of your comfort zone, go along with it. You may be surprised with the result.

A little background info: Creps and I started doing three-item challenges when we were feeling uninspired and uncreative in the avatar department. The challenges helped us create some interesting avatars, but more importantly, they were incredibly fun. :'D I decided to start this thread so you guys can have fun too. <3

► H O W - T O - P L A Y ◄

Every week, I will select three items . For now, I will just be picking them at random but hopefully I can think of a better selection system later on. If I pick an item that's a CI or EI and is relatively hard to obtain, I will also pick a replacement item for those who don't have the item. I will try to choose a similar item but no guarantees, since rares can be pretty unique. XD

All you have to do is make an outfit with the three items. You don't necessarily have to make it on Mene - you can make it using MAC, if you wish. Use the three items as a starting point for your avatar, but try not to completely cover them or anything.. I know Mene has a lovely layering system. XD But it's up to you.

Ideally, a new round will start on Friday or Saturday.

This guide is for people who want to do the challenges in MAC. Unfortunately, MAC doesn't always have the items in our challenges but fortunately, we can fix that ourselves. :lol:

This is what your MAC folder should look like. I have placed coloured squares over the folders and files we'll be using. Take note of the colours, as they correspond with the colours of the steps.

I made up an example to illustrate my explanation but don't actually do it unless you've always wanted a shaded box as a hat. XD

ITEM NAME - example only

Step One » Full Image - save as "ItemName"
Step Two » Thumbnail - save as "ItemName"
Step Three » Copy and paste code below in items.txt

Item_Name hat HW u 1 f black_white

Step One » Save the linked image in the folder named "Clothes". Make sure you save it as the specified name. In the example, the image name would be "ItemName" (without the quotation marks).
Step Two » Save the linked thumbnail in the folder named "TN". Again, make sure you save it as the specified name.
Step Three » Open "items.txt". Copy and paste the text in the code box into a new line.

And you're done! :) Open up MAC and give it ago. If it's not appearing, check that the file names are correct. If it's still not appearing, post in the thread and hopefully someone can help you.

Argh, I forgot that the newer items won't be in MAC. @_@ How about using a red bandana as a replacement? I can't remember what other red neck items there are.

Red ankle socks would complete the look.
and yellow tube socks perhaps, switch your red and yellow socks basically.

no that wouldnt work
the red would be too bright
and i need more yellow down there to balance out the headband

add more white or black by getting one white or black wrap and wrapping it around one leg, adding asymmetry

that wouldnt work either then
if you have color on one side
you need to balance it on the other
and if i add wraps and stuff to my torso
it would become more complicated than it already is
i do not wish to do so

Hmm. you do have silver, try silver tribal anklets?

i only have a speck of silver in the tiara
and i have only a little bit of grey in the horns
but is balanced by the dull black
the tiara is mostly white
adding more would create more of a mess

Hmm. sorry that i am not so good at helping you at the moment, try adding bee slippers.

Those go over the shoe.

that adds more yellow
which i already have
and i dont own bee slippers
plus they wouldnt fit the theme
and would add more clutter than layering style
