Wow! Of this i did not know, but now i do... Ive heard that particular occurrance called a lot of things, but never Fred?

Ling 02-17-2011 12:49 PM

Yeh, I didnt' get it at first when I first heard it in high school....and when I did eventually learnt its meaning, a teacher overheard a group of girls talking about said 'Fred' and she was like, 'you still call it that?' so i presume it's been around for a while.

secretdae007 02-17-2011 12:57 PM

Hm, never heard of it referred to like that... And I don't think I'll be picking up that particular slang... ^_^;

But yay for page 3!

Ling 02-17-2011 12:58 PM

It's probably an Australian thing....:D

secretdae007 02-17-2011 01:23 PM

Hehehe

Ugh, I have so much to do today but I don't want to get out of bed!

*Hime* 02-17-2011 01:24 PM

Hey Dae, same here.

secretdae007 02-17-2011 01:28 PM

Hello *Hime*! Today is only busy cause I have to do some grocery shopping, get a new light bulb for the headlight of my car, replace said light bulb [while knowing little about cars], call olive garden and reserve a table for 13-14 people and a bunch of other things... Dx It's gonna be a long day...

Drop Bear 02-17-2011 02:20 PM

The headlight should be fairly easy Dae, theyre typically a screw in screw out component that holds the light which mounts into the back of the light fixture. When you pull it out, do so slowly so you can see if there are any bayonets on it and whether they have a high/low level so you put the new one in the same way.
I had a similar issue with one of my rear lights, put the globe in back to front (some how) and it was dimming on hard brake instead of getting the second stage of brightness, and was over bright normally.

secretdae007 02-17-2011 04:58 PM

It was very easy Assassin! I actually only saw this after I actually did it but thankfully, my owner's manual had instructions on how to do it. And the people at the auto parts store were very nice.

I'm kind of getting sick of all the investments I'm making for this car that is not mine though... Especially when I need to get one of my own soon.

star2000shadow 02-17-2011 11:14 PM

Ling i Love your outfit.

Drop Bear 02-18-2011 01:19 AM

Glad to hear that it all went well then Dae!

secretdae007 02-18-2011 04:43 AM

Well, now I'm bring the car to the shop tomorrow anyway. Dx Getting the wheels aligned..... but don't really know what that means. >.>;

Drop Bear 02-18-2011 07:34 AM

Basically it means that theyre all travelling in exactly the same direction, not going in slightly different ones. Like the front ones arent trying to pull apart slightly or the back ones angled inwards and pushing together etc. If theyre aligned correctly then youll find things are a lot smoother etc. Basic part of changing tyres etc.

star2000shadow 02-18-2011 10:40 AM

'Sleepy wave' hey guys. and your welcome.

Ling 02-18-2011 11:31 AM

Apart from sleepy how are you star?

secretdae007 02-18-2011 12:11 PM

Assassin_666: Well... Hopefully, this will make the car stop shaking. And this is what the parents recommended so I'm just doing what they say. But I'm definitely looking at getting a car of my own soon. Cause I'm tired of investing money into this one that is not my car...

Drop Bear 02-18-2011 02:50 PM

Yeah that should help. Probably need to get mine realigned too actually, i get over 100kph and it starts to shake the steering wheel. over 140kph and you can feel the whole car swaying around on the road and it becomes a little hard to keep straight! You shouldnt have to fight it to stay on the road.

secretdae007 02-18-2011 04:38 PM

So they did a wheel alignment and replaced a tire. -.-; But the problem is fix so I can't really complain. And they were really nice and keeping me updated and stuff... And basically told me my car should not have passed inspection. >.>;

Amane 02-18-2011 05:10 PM

Eee! dae, you're pretty! :glomp:

Skrae 02-18-2011 10:39 PM

Dae- Lots of people I know seem to have the same 'it shouldn't have passed, but it did' situation.
-noms the thread-

secretdae007 02-19-2011 01:27 AM

Not the thread! -wipes Skrae's drool-

Amane 02-19-2011 01:37 AM

Nom on candy instead!

secretdae007 02-19-2011 03:25 AM

Candy is yummy! -pokes thread to move it a little-

Drop Bear 02-19-2011 06:13 AM

hahaha, my first car shouldnt have passed! It needed a new ignition barrel (the bit where the key goes in) because i could take it out while i was driving. I was restoring the car though and the mechanic inspecting it said 'do you have a new one' and i didnt hear him properly so i replied 'yeah' hoping that was acceptable for an answer and he passed it lol! he was then talking to my dad for a bit after and told him so thats how i knew what he had asked lol!
