I've had better days. I've had worse days. This is more of an annoying day. My grandmother just called to let me know that she's rented a truck for me to drive up to her house and my mom is mad about it. Mom wanted me to take my dead aunt's truck. But it's not ours. We have to give it back to the company -_-;

Me too Kion! She is never reasonable. Mom thinks it's too much money and that I should take my seventeen year old car, but my grandmother forbids me from taking a three day road trip in it (the windows don't work, the air conditioning doesn't work, there's leaking brake fluid and a noisy belt and some other issues). I'm stuck in the middle, but ultimately, each plan has trade offs and to be honest I respect my grandmother's decisions more than my mom's. Grandma actually has logic come into play, mom does not.

Eirian, that sounds like lots of fun! :)
:/ That's always the worst, when you know that the person other then your parent makes more sense. At least, that's how it is for me. I hate that.
Anyway, I think your g-ma makes more sense too though. A three-day trip in a beat up car like that can only spell horrible. What if it broke down while your were on your way? Who would you call? :/ But yeah....ultimately, though, it is up to you how you want to do it. Good luck!

@Cookie:  I know how the unreasonable mom thing goes.
Yeah, your car is a bad idea for a three day road trip.
@Eirian: 7 pies?! O.o I've never made that many at one time.

Exactly Kion! I have AAA, but still. If the Hertz car breaks down, I can just trade it in. It'd be a pain, but they have to give me one that works :P Also, there are some larger items that I'd like to bring up with me that ultimately makes up for the cost. My grandmother bought a freestanding inside air conditioner for this house last year. I'm leaving and the house will need to be sold soon, so I'd like to bring the air conditioner up with me to my grandmother's house where it will see use. The cost of the air conditioner makes up about half the cost of the rental. But I wouldn't be able to bring it in my car. There wouldn't be enough room!
Logic must be involved and these decisions need to be weighed. At any rate, both plans were better than having my 81 year old grandparents drive down here in their minivan!
@Wifey - I think my car could probably make it if we fixed a few things, but why risk it? *snuggles*
@Eirian - What kind of pies?

@ white: Well, their not all for us, 3 are, cause my parents and sis won't let me make fresh pies without making some for us, lol. The other 4 are for our town Church's tenderloin dinner tomorrow. I'm not going down to help out, cause to be honest, I worked it before one year, cleaning plates and tables....didn't like it much, so this is my way of helping out ^_^ I also need to make one soon for a Church member who been bringing us fresh eggs all summer from his chicken farm. I found out he loves peanut butter pie ^_^

*chuckles.* Good logic Cookie :) I'm sure it'll work out just fine. You should rent the car and just go with it like that. Your arguments are quite sound :) Good luck with the drive!!!! :D

Thanks Kion. I like logic. Logic is my friend. Mom gets mad because I don't ever go with her plans. She HATES it when I go with my dad's plans. She's still made that he/I wouldn't let her take my recently deceased aunt's truck. It's my dad's sister. Mom gets no say in how that works. She's bitter. :P She'll just have to deal with it.
At least soon, I shall be up in the North with my grandparents and my dog and I'll be working and doing stuff other than sitting here and fighting with mom.

Why would your mom care if she gets the truck or not though? That's just weird :/ Sorry your mom's bitter about that.
And yeah, that'll be good for you to get away. I like that your having a positive attitude about it :) That always does help things, ya know? :D
Gah, i have to get back to work T_T I won't be back on again until Monday, unfortunately T_T I just hope this event doesn't end while I'm gone. I really want that beatie thing in the shop and I only have 15 out of the 25 required candies :/ Ah well. You guys try to have a good day and weekend.
And Cookie, good attitudes make a difference :D
Love ya guys!

Hi again Jeannesha :D
@Wifey - Yeah. Dad seems to think I should have taken it too. But he was supposed to help me fix it but when it came down to it today he told me I needed to grow up and do it myself. ....Thanks dad.

@Kion - Because she's an unreasonable and bitter person. If the truck had been paid off, it would be mine. But my aunt owed a lot of money on it when she died, so we have to return it. Mom thinks we should have just driven it up packed with my stuff because "nobody would know". I turned her down. It's not our truck. We're not making payments on it. It's not our insurance policy. It hasn't been looked after. It runs better than my car, but she hadn't had it serviced in a long time. There's just too much wrong with her plan. It's ultimately a selfish sort of plan because mom is a selfish sort of person. "Why use my resources when I can use someone else's?"
See ya Kion!
