@Gothic: Welcome back! :D

@Ziv: I want to visit Austria, Germany, Italy, and Prague (in Czech Republic) :D

Gothic Romantic 08-08-2009 03:48 AM

Thank you for the welcome, Elsa! ^^ it is nice to see that you're still here.

xdark_secretsx 08-08-2009 03:49 AM

@Iltu; Same here. Sometimes I laugh when I make a reference to a show or movie, yet it's annoying when not many people get it and I have to explain why I'm laughing.

Ziv Xanthus 08-08-2009 03:49 AM

@Elsa:
Ahh, those seem like great places. I myself wanna visit Spain, England (UK), Japan, Germany, and France.

Iltu 08-08-2009 03:51 AM

Gothic- Hey there, apothecary! I didn't see you come in, so here's a belated hello. :)

Dark- Aaaaah, I have the same problem. But you know, it's good to laugh even if you're the only one doing so. Laughing makes you live longer. ;D

xdark_secretsx 08-08-2009 03:57 AM

@Iltu; That's true. I usually try to make references around people that I know will get them so everyone can laugh. :D

Gothic Romantic 08-08-2009 03:57 AM

Thank you, Iltu, Mistress Knight. :D I dub thee such a name from now on. XD

Iltu 08-08-2009 04:03 AM

Dark- That's a good way to do it! :D I usually just accompany the refrence with a silly voice or facial expression that gets everyone to laugh anyway. *nods*

Quite welcome, Sir Apothecary! If you get to call me Mistress Knight, I get to call you Sir Apothecary. Fair is fair, you know. ;D

Gothic Romantic 08-08-2009 04:05 AM

Huzzah! I am Sir Apothecary! ^^ It brings quite the grin to my lips. :)

xdark_secretsx 08-08-2009 04:08 AM

@Iltu; Haha. I should do that too, I'll be sure to try that next time I make a reference. :D

Iltu 08-08-2009 04:10 AM

Gothic- Glad to hear it! Grinning is good.
I must say, I am pelased to haved earned a nickname such as Mistress Knight! I spend lots of time wishing I was a knight of the round table, serving King Arthur. :gonk: I love all the legends surrounding him.

Dark- According to my friends, I do wonderful funny voices and have the best exaggerated frown ever. :P

Gothic Romantic 08-08-2009 04:14 AM

@Iltu: My favorite Arthurian myths revolve around Merlin, or Myrrdin, depending on the dialect.

Did you know that the Celtic legendary sword Caladbolg is the same sword as Excalibur?

xdark_secretsx 08-08-2009 04:16 AM

@Iltu; Hahaha. That's cool. Now I want to see the exaggerated frown. :)

Gothic Romantic 08-08-2009 04:19 AM

I love playing fetch with my kitty! :D

She keeps bringing back the same piece of paper every time I chuck it down the hall.

Listening to her nails scratch the linoleum as she does a cartoonish run is hilarious. XDD

Iltu 08-08-2009 04:23 AM

Gothic- My favorites are the myths surrounding Guinevere/Gwenhwyfar herself and her affair with Lancelot, as well as the tales of Mordred! I love Morgan le Faye as well, and adore reading about her in different lights, from seeing her potrayed as misunderstood to deliciously wicked.
I am very fond of the tale of Nimue and Merlin, though. :)

No I did not! Thank-you for that bit of information, though.

Dark- I think it just looks dumb. XD

lilrayrayjinx 08-08-2009 04:28 AM

I've joined! Yay!

Iltu 08-08-2009 04:30 AM

Welcome to the team, Rayray! Good to have you. :)

xdark_secretsx 08-08-2009 04:30 AM

@Iltu; Haha. I doubt it looks dumb. :P

& I think I'm getting a bit too sleepy. :( Night everyone.

Gothic Romantic 08-08-2009 04:30 AM

I collect mythologies. ^^ My favorite thing to do is compare myths from around the world and try to figure out ACTUAL events that are parallel. Like the Great Flood. There was the flood in the myth of Nu Wa and Fu Xi (Chinese), Gilgamesh (Babylonian), many native American tales, and even Noah's Flood (Christian). Though the stories were written at different times, they were still implied to be dated around the same time.

There are many other nice parallels, but I can't think of any others at the moment.

Gothic Romantic 08-08-2009 04:36 AM

BLASPHEMY!!!!

Oh, Red Paint, you have a nice avatar. :D

PaintTheSkyRed 08-08-2009 04:37 AM

@Gothic Romance: :XD Really? Thanks. I think it is poop. ._. I want to get the one in my signature. Thanks though.

Gothic Romantic 08-08-2009 04:39 AM

Not a problem. ^^

My avatar, on the other hand, needs a serious slap in the face and a better wardrobe. XD

Iltu 08-08-2009 04:39 AM

Dark- Good night!

Gothic- We talked about the flood myths all across the world early on in mythology class. :) We read the one in the myth of Gilgamesh, Native American ones, the one involving Noah, one about Hathor and the other Egyptian gods, and I think a few others. It was so fascinating! I really want to take some in-depth comparative mythology classes...

Hey there, Red!

Rad Lionheart 08-08-2009 04:42 AM

Song people! I'm in your thread, doing nothing much of interest. :ninja:
