I love vampires, but Twilight has kind of ruined it for me. Kind of. I just stay away from Twilight stuff if I can help it.

My personal view of vampyres are probably a lot more realistic and less mythic than most people could believe. But then, I also consider what would be the ACTUAL characteristics of a REAL vampyre, rather then the myths.

EDIT: Because of my views of vampyres, I don't think that any work of fiction could deter me from my thoughts of them. People have their opinions. Some agree, some disagree. But most of all, many agree to disagree.

Connielass 08-09-2009 02:58 AM

Don't even get me started.
::is a die-hard of the Anne Rice generation::

Tilly 08-09-2009 02:59 AM

I hate fantasy fiction. It's so boring/not cool.

My ears are ringing. o__o

Gothic Romantic 08-09-2009 03:01 AM

Dislike fantasy fiction? Opposed to fantasy non-fiction? XD Most would call that 'conspiracy'.

Vixen with a Vendetta 08-09-2009 03:01 AM

I'm really disappointed. I think they took off the first interview with Robert Pattinson. The one where he literally said that Meyers was an obsessive mad woman and he felt as if the book was the sick daydream of a hormonal teenager girl that wasn't meant to be published. o.o

Bummer, I guess it wouldn't be a good image for the next movie to still have that video floating around. xD

Hatake Ayumi 08-09-2009 03:02 AM

...
xD;;;;
Goro, gotta keep that quote... NOW.

I love fantasy. Tamora Pierce ftw.

xdark_secretsx 08-09-2009 03:03 AM

Connielass, I love Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles - I haven't read them all, but I will once I get some more free time.

Vixen, he seriously said that? O_O! Now I want to see that video.

Vixen with a Vendetta 08-09-2009 03:04 AM

Some day I'll get my fantasy books published. XD S. L. Scarlet, keep your eyes out in a few years. ;D That'll be me.

Hatake Ayumi 08-09-2009 03:04 AM

Vixen: When you do, mail me and I'll be the first in line for a coppy.

Tilly 08-09-2009 03:04 AM

No I just don't like 'I take out my cape and wizards hat, tralalala I'm a vampire here's a detailed paragraph' It's so terribly boring.

I mean, I love some dry shit but geez..

Connielass 08-09-2009 03:05 AM

::beats Tilly about the head with a foam bat::

Or not.

To each his own, I suppose.
Fantasy and sci-fi are very much fascinating to me.
Anne McCaffrey!

Yeah, I love the vampire chronicles, to an extent.
Her Mayfair Witches trilogy was okay for one reading, but I won't be going back for seconds.
::makes mental note to clear out three more books from bookcase::
And the Chronicles starts to get boring a couple books before the Chronicles and Trilogy come together.
I definitely recommend Blood and Gold, the tale of Marius, and Vittorio the Vampire, who is really apart from everyone else, and not in the Chronicles, The Mummy, aka Ramses the Damned.

Gothic Romantic 08-09-2009 03:05 AM

Holy leviathan! I'm on Menewsha for 4 days and I'm already in someones signature?

...

I GOTS SKILLS!!! :D

Cyndel 08-09-2009 03:06 AM

Hatake: Lol yeah, more or less... I loved vampires a lot before and I could talk about it for a while, not it's like...I almost dread the subject coming up because I just know something Twilight will come off it.

Vixen: hahaha I read an interview with him somewhere that cracked me up... XD Something about Edward looking like a piece of cheese and Bella still thinking he was amazing. XD

Connie: ^^ Here here~ Though her books were a little hard for me to get into... I would like...forget what they were doing int eh room by the time she was finished describing what it looked like. XD;

Hatake Ayumi 08-09-2009 03:06 AM

xD
Account Age means almost nothing on Mene I believe.

Anne McCaffrey!

The comment I have quoted is most win.
Anne's writing is awesome.

Vixen with a Vendetta 08-09-2009 03:07 AM

I only have half of the first book written so far. :B But it's coming along nicely, even if it's a slow pace.

@Hatake: Yep he did. In fact, I think I might be able to get the video if I you give me a few more minutes...

GrannyJ 08-09-2009 03:07 AM

Hello everybody. How are you all this evening?

Enzeru 08-09-2009 03:08 AM

Well, I'm going to go bug my boyfriend for a little while, see you guys some other time.

Tilly 08-09-2009 03:09 AM

Well, I could say the same thing about you guys.

It's just not my thing, I'd rather some Vonnegut or a biography or something.

This is boring. I'm out.

AishaLeigh 08-09-2009 03:09 AM

not too bad grannyj. how're you doing?

Gothic Romantic 08-09-2009 03:09 AM

Good evening, Granny! It's a pleasure to see you here again!

Killiandra 08-09-2009 03:10 AM

I love fantasy and sci-fi novels. My current favorite is the Black Jewels Saga by Anne Bishop. *huggles books*

I read Twilight, but I don't even remember the main character's name...I'm thinking Nelly..

Twilight? Eww. *curls up in fetal position, and waves a white flag*

Cyndel 08-09-2009 03:11 AM

lol I liked Anne McCaffery's Acorna series. XD

Edit: Yes, I'm so falling behind in the conversation and just throwing up random things as I rad something it pertains to. XD
