@Lucentas: Ah I need to get one more class. Thank you for the compliment.

@Little Miss Flip-Flops: Thank you so much for applying. I'm going to start drawing soon. I'm just a little tired.

Little Miss Flip-Flops 08-12-2009 03:36 AM

Your welcome <3 That's fine, take your time :)

Lucentas 08-12-2009 03:37 AM

Aww, why are you tired?

[+MeltedWings+] 08-12-2009 03:37 AM

@Flip Flops: Do you mind if I take off the fire if I do it though? I'm terrible at drawing fire.

@Lucentas: Oh, I had to work tonight. That's all.

Lucentas 08-12-2009 03:39 AM

Ahh, I see. Yeah, work can be tiring.

[+MeltedWings+] 08-12-2009 03:44 AM

That's true. I work as a hostess at a local restaurant. I just started back tonight after a week's vacation. One of the reason's I started this thread is because I want to get back to drawing after vacation and also because I've just started here on Menewsha.

Little Miss Flip-Flops 08-12-2009 03:44 AM

Sure, go ahead. I understand, I can't draw fire for the life of me :o

[+MeltedWings+] 08-12-2009 03:46 AM

@Flip-flops: Thank you so very much!

Lucentas 08-12-2009 03:48 AM

Ooh, I see. That does sound like a tiring job.

I'm just getting done with a break from my work too.

[+MeltedWings+] 08-12-2009 03:50 AM

@Lucenta: What is your job? I start back at college soon, about two weeks.

Pink!ophile 08-12-2009 03:50 AM

Nice art work.
What do you typically use to draw/color with?

Lucentas 08-12-2009 03:55 AM

Well, it's not a "job", per se, since I'm not getting paid for it, but it's a collab comic that a friend and I are working on. It's hard work, but it's worth it.

And that's about how long I've got until the semester starts, too. I'm excited.

[+MeltedWings+] 08-12-2009 03:55 AM

@Pink: Well the examples are all sketched with mechanical pencil, then colored with sharpies, and finally outlined with ball-point pen. But my I just bought some Bic permanent markers to try out.

@Lucentas: Oh that sounds amazing! I wish you the best of luck. What kind? Graphic novel or Manga or other?

Lucentas 08-12-2009 03:57 AM

I love mechanical pencils, they're my favorite and what I always use for sketching. xD

[+MeltedWings+] 08-12-2009 03:59 AM

I KNOW! They make the drawing aspect of my life soooo much easier! I want to try copic markers some day.

Lucentas 08-12-2009 04:01 AM

Mmm, Copics. Those are amazing. I only got to use them once, at an art demo at a store, but they work like a dream. Prismacolor is almost as good, though...and almost as expensive.

Pink!ophile 08-12-2009 04:03 AM

The shading is nice, since you're just using Sharpies.
I always botch up my pictures when I try and use them. ><
That and the bleeding. Ugh.

But yes, mechanic pencils are amazing for sketching.
Though I still love my wooden pencils for shading more.

Luncentas: I'm jealous! I'd kill to get my hands on a set of either brand. All I have are some crappy knock off brand. Found out the hard way they weren't water proof when I went to use them in a watercolor picture.
Totally ruined the entire thing.

[+MeltedWings+] 08-12-2009 04:09 AM

@Pink: I did some practice on a sheet to see how they blend and run together first as well as some practice coloring. Then I used that sheet for a bleed sheet under serious drawings like the Justice drawing. The Lolita drawing is done with Neo-Piko though.

@Lucentas: I have some prismacolor markers, but they are rather old and almost completely used up.

[+MeltedWings+] 08-12-2009 04:32 AM

How sad. You guys are all gone.
