Well that same way they tried to learn me swim in a freaking swimming pool in luxembourg. And those were "professional" teachers.
After all that I've become scared of water >< I hardly swim anymore XD

I could, but I didn't.
And I think it's the best way to be taught how to swim.
I was four back then and I was used to floaties, so I kind of knew the basics. I was eight when I got my diploma though.

It also was a game for me in the end. I always tried to get my dad on the edge, so he'd throw me back in. It was fun ;)

I remember when I was little there was a water park we went to all the time and we floated in that ride called 'the Endless River' ...and if you've ever been to a water park you know what that is. That river-y type thing that flowed really slow in a big loop around the park.
Anyway, that was when I was 2 or so. So I've been in the water since forever.

It would never occur to me to be scared of the water - except maybe if I were in the middle of the ocean.

Oh dear, Jack. I think I would have had a heart attack if my parents had done that. D= I'm glad you had fun with it, though.

I don't even remember learning to swim. I was very young as my parents LOVED swimming, but I didn't take to it as much. I like it well enough, but it's not my thing.

I took lessons every summer as a kid, but had always been near water. My daughter loved playing in shallow pools and was looking forward to lessons a few years ago. Unfortunately, we were in a friend's pool that didn't mark where the deep end dropped off. I think it was something like 4' at the shallow end and then it dropped abruptly to 6'. She would have drowned if there wasn't an adult in the pool at the time. Haven't been able to convince her to go near water since.

Ahh yeah then it's kinda ok xD Nya I didn't know so good how to swim and we weren't allowed to use swim floaties so it was very scary ><

I've never been to a pool where the drop off was so sudden. It's always been a gradual thing. I remember slipping down the slope and nearly drowning at least twice though. I just laughed it off, my mom was terrified.

@ Kaze - it was. Mom said I looked half dead though, since when I was little I'd just lay there like I was scared. But I remember enjoying it.

@ V I X E N - Sweet dreams =3

@ Nekuyo - Just enjoying the ride? ^_^

@ NatalChan - Well I think personally, you need a really good thing to happen because of swimming, which might make you like water a bit more =D

Yeah, she said that I was lying very still face up in my life jacket/floaty thing (cuz I was only little). And she thought maybe I was scared but I never cried or made any noise so she didn't think to take me out of the water.

Hi guys! I poofed for awhile.
Our RV was making some really weird noises where we were driving, so we had to stop and check it out.

Guess it's going to have to keep making those noises, because we couldn't find what was wrong.
