Sounds like one of hte weird ones following over to here from Gaia.
I had that sort of thing happen all the time on Gaia, people not understanding that something wasn't for sale, despite selling so many other things. Don't have that too terribly much here, mostly as it's just not tolerated. The people of Mene are nice and tolerant, but up to a point. |

Awe, that sucks. I swear some people play the "dumb" card just to see what they can get away with.
Another reason there aren't many offenders here, Mene only lets you have TWO accounts. They can't hide as easily as they can on Gaia. |

Vixen ~ Agreed. The mods here are super helpful and usually right ontop of anything you need to discuss with them.
And the rules are done in such a way, that there is little you need to do in order to fix a problem. Kaze ~ Not just what mules are who's... but what IP address on the computers you frequent. So that you can't make multiple accounts from different computers. Like I can't make two new accounts from my work computer, because they know that IP address is used frequently by my two accounts here. Same for violators. They can catch and block them really easily. |

My friend Boog is a good mod on Gaia. I like him. I knew him a few years before he became amoderator and pixel artist for Gaia.
But in general.. I dislike Gaia's moderators and admin staff. I was talked to about becoming a trial moderator for hte Picture Post, but I told them I wasn't interested, since I was loosing interest in Gaia. |
I love Menewsha's moderators, and their moderating system.
And Gaia...well, it has all been said before. |

I love how they still interact with users, and will look into a problem, not just click away without using some common sense.

I didn't want to be a moderator because I didn't want to spend that much time on a site that I was begining to hate. With people I couldn't stand.
I would either be on thier all the time banning people and nothing else or not there at all. Both of which wouldn't have been fullfilling at all. Though banning tons of people for the crap they do would have been satisfaction for a while. Though trial mods have a long trial period and have boring "fix thread" jobs... I wouldn't have gotten up to mod status before just giving up. |

I understand what you mean I would have been a mass banner hahah but fixing threads would just irritate me soo much i would probably just lock the thread if i didn't like where it was going hahaha @bear-yeah. they should try fixing the problems they already have instead of introducing new possible ones... |
Yup... only time I'd want a mod to click away and not talk is if they were an idi- oh wait... you mean mene? woops... XD yup it's nice being able to chat with staff... and they seem to be the right age to be intelligent too...

I had a moderator tell me that any abuse, libel, trolling, or sexually explicit material is fine if it's removed before a moderator sees it. You can post anything you want on Gaia, but if a moderator finds it, you're toast.
And this doesn't mean it being reported, either. Just if the moderator themselves see you. |
I'm not affected by it or anything... but I know there are little kids on this site so I reported it... howdy had it off in 3 min =D
Edit - Wait... it's OKAY unless a mod sees it?!? Yknow... the sad part is it was at about page 50 or so of people posting more that it finally got deleted... |

I have so much stuff still on Gaia... but I can't seem to part with it.
Partially sentimental value and partially because i'm a pack rat. LOL! And yes,as long as the moderators on Gaia don't see it, it's fine. =-=; |
I'm afraid of getting viruses from that site though now... plus... the hackers are getting into gaia's system and getting pop-ups asking for pw and stuff...
So basically... that's like saying if you made a thread and posting p- it's okay because the ToS is just a guideline apparently... Stupid site... it's a site for KIDS too... =.= |
That's not someone hacking into Gaia; if you check posts on the page you're browsing, you'll see that someone has embedded a code into their post that makes that thing pop up. It's horrible.
But Gaia was hacked. Wasn't it something like FEARBOT? Yeah, I can really trust a site that can't even keep their own things secure. :roll: |
