Woohoo, gaming and food! Two of my favorite subjects!

I don't have much D&D experience, I was in a friend's campaign once a few years back but that's about it. I have played several campaigns of Realms of Glory, a totally awesome RPG that a friend's friend is putting together and trying to publish. And finally, I just recently got into the Star Wars RPG and I'm running a hilarious campaign with my best friends. (Oh, and I made a dinky little RPG a while back but nobody really cares.)

As for food...

I really love nearly all fruits and vegetables, and noodles. On the other hand, I have a terrible sweet tooth and can't get enough of chocolate. xD But for the most part, I like healthy food.

I don't think there are any foods from my childhood that I can't remember the name of...usually if I don't know the name of a food I just make one up. XP

So what sort of race/class do you usually play in your D&D campaigns? In the sole campaign I was in, I was a human because I didn't feel like being a dwarf and the DM insinuated that in the setting we were playing in, everybody really, really hates elves, so being one would be a bad idea. xD And she was a paladin, because those are awesome. Although I think next time I'll be a cleric so I can be all healy-type-all-over-the-place.

WHITE MAGE! *runs amok*

@MirukuKuroNeko: I went to school in Hawaii for a semester--I totally loved it. And I've heard of salted plums, but I don't think I've ever tried them. I'm always willing to try most foods, though. I should give it a shot sometime.

I was a really big Legend of the Five Rings fan. It was such a great setting and gave me such good stuff to paint. I also started doing sumi e because of it. =D

I really haven't done any D&D except for the Arabian Nights style world of Al Qadim, but it was awesome.

I wouldn't mind picking up a D&D campaign that's in a northern, icy setting. For some reason that appeals to me now. Perhaps because of the heat. =D It would be fun to have a campaign in a tropical setting for the coldest months of the year, and one in an arctic/viking style setting for the hottest.

So now that makes me want a Belgian waffle with ice cream on top. D=

Edit --

@MirukuKuroNeko -- tiger girl? Now I'm jealous. =D

@Guivre: I've heard of Legend of the Five Rings, I did a commission piece for somebody's character from it once. It seems fun. And that's a cool (haha, pun) idea with the opposing climate thing! What a great way to beat the heat! ...And then the cold!

Mmm...Belgian waffle with ice cream... Okay, now I need dessert. *goes on a cookie raid*

@Lucentas -- It sounds like a better idea the more I think of it, and I like DMing (worldbuilding) more than the RP part.

I think playing a white mage would be really relaxing. =D

Edit again --

I didn't even know a 4.0 had come out. D=

I play CONTROLLERS always .. lol you could say I have control issues >.<
One is an Eladrin SpellStorm mage One is a Razor Claw Druid (My favorite) and then I'm playing a friend "Home-Brew" Race a Fasare which is basically your typical fairy and she can shift from medium to tiny (she a druid as well)

@MirukuKuroNeko: I don't even remember what version we were playing, it was several years ago. >: So no...I don't think I've played 4.0.

@Guivre: I like worldbuilding too, but sometimes it gets tiring, especially if your imagination stamina is low. When that happens, I usually just let the players banter and goof off so I can recuperate and we can all get some laughs in.

Yeah, a white mage would be fun because you'd get to prance around wanting to be friends with everybody instead of having to be all "RAWR I MUST KILL EVERYTHING I SEEEEEEEE".

I've only actually played 4.0 so I don't know.. but my DM says it is MUCH slower then 3.5 I am starting a d20 Modern campaign soon that's 3.5

Whoa this place blew up with posts for a second.
Who say's controllers have to kill everything? Druids are very earth loving, Just because she care's more about animals then people means nothing >.<

As a question to the group: Do any of you feel a strange compulsion to always be munching on something while your gaming?

@Bound Birdie: Not particularly. Actually, I tend to find eating more of a distraction than anything, lol.

@MirukuKuroNeko: Oh wow, sounds hilarious. We're doing the same thing in my SW campaign, I feel so sorry for the sole guy in the group who's actually taking the RP seriously. My best friend is a totally crazy Ewok, the first mate to a smuggler who lets him get away with anything, including buying a jet pack and stealing candy; he also taught my other friend's character, a droideka, how to make biscuits. xD

Well our games tend to be .. well a little to relaxed >.<
My Dm actually hasn't fully read the 4.0 books and is really naturally a fair guy so I probably haven't had much restrictions. But yeah it does take us about a hour to go through an encounter...
But I hear in 3.5 there is a LOT to keep track of?
I'm excited to play the Modern Series Have any of you played it?

If you can't tell I'm a real noob to table top gaming

@Lucentas : for some reason we always get Pizza or at LEST have to have some chips and Mountain DEW

I think it's better for a game to be too lax than too uptight...but yeah, excesses in either direction can be bad. Best to strike a balance between goofing off and actually getting stuff done. ...Come to think of it, it's a lot like life in a way...

And I just finished my lunch dessert, a chocolate chip granola bar and some milk. :3

I get a little too into the gaming. D= I'll forget to eat, more than anything, Bound Birdie.

Lucentas, I think it would be hard to be totally serious in a Sci-Fi campaign. But then again, one of those thing that I like about fantasy, is that when people sit around and try to figure out exactly how a sci fi or super hero technology would be possible in real life, all you have to say with fantasy is "it's magic." =D

mmm biscuits n' gravy does sound good >.<
One of my first games I was kind of afraid to get into a fight and we cam across a hoard of goblins So I feed them all my rations instead of fighting them and one became my pet! Eventually I convinced my DM to let me level him and we made him in to a berserker >.<
