I say nerds make the best friends and are most easy to approach, unless they are like that super snobby "nerd rage" type
Sorry if I'm a little spastic I'm on a emotional rollacoster
One good thing about REALLY large groups (for me anyway) is it's easy to kinda of blend out and be overlooked. I like to hudel with my laptop in a corner in places like that

ElysiumFate 05-24-2012 03:19 AM

What's wrong, Birdie?

Yeah, I approach a lot of nerds. I think they're kinda surprised when I do, because I don't tend to look like a nerd. Kinda look like a snobby chick most of the time, actually. >.>

I think I'll pull that some, but I'm going to try not to be as bad about it as I was in my last college.

Bound Birdie 05-24-2012 03:23 AM

Home Depot likes to taunt me
Quote:

Because I was "hired" for stocking which is at 4am and I guess could require driving some trucks around the lot and forklifts but she was "scheduling" me in the paint dept.
SO she re-submitted the application for "sales associate" which doesn't require driving.
So they called me to re-interview me (it was a totally different person) for the job. I POINTED OUT I didn't have a liceanse and thats when they said they would call me back after they "discussed it" but the guy didn't sound very nice.
Still at lest I still have a shot.
You just have a classy elegant style >.<

I generally have to my laptop in class, for one I web cam record all my classes and then I'm generally working on my homework as we talk about it, using the internet to find the materials I would use in the project etc. Only very rarely posting XD Mostly though I like having the power points thisclose to my face >.<

ElysiumFate 05-24-2012 03:33 AM

That's weird. I'm sorry they're playing with you. Just keep trying for other jobs in the meantime.

I like to think so. You know the younger generation, though. Doesn't tend to come off that way. XP

If my laptop didn't weigh so much, I'd take it to all of my classes and do that, but, as it is...no good. :P I'm probably going to sit in the front of classes so that I can get close to the professor. I need letters of ref for grad school and stuff, and it's going to be harder to get close to professors in this situation.

the antitwite 05-24-2012 03:35 AM

Lol i couldnt figure out what on earth the title of this thread meant, until I realised most of the Mene users are in America :P

ElysiumFate 05-24-2012 03:36 AM

Lol, what confused you? The fudge thing?

the antitwite 05-24-2012 03:38 AM

The free bit, you guys have summer vacation or whatever you call it now right?
I couldnt figure out why you would finish anything in May until I remembered the America bit :P

ElysiumFate 05-24-2012 03:40 AM

Ahhh. I wish I had the summer off, but I'm starting classes again next Tuesday.

But yeah, that's just normal here with us nutty Americans.

the antitwite 05-24-2012 03:42 AM

It is just hard to remember. Here we have our main time off in december/january, so each year of school or unversity is in each actual year, rather than, say, your first year of university spanning the last half of 2011 and the first half of 2012 lol

Bound Birdie 05-24-2012 03:46 AM

I applied for Lowes and re-set up my interview for target. Also Russ is going to try at home depot and lowes because they pay enough that maybe only one of us has to work there, and I just won't have to work at all :boggie:

They just understand taste these scene kids XD

oh yeah I only have a two cell battery so it helps >.< I always ask my professers a decent amount of one on one questions with anything I might have a misunderstanding about and that gets me off well with them. Some people have considered me a teachers pet but I care a lot more about the teachers opinion then theres

ElysiumFate 05-24-2012 03:51 AM

I agree, that system makes a lot more sense than ours does.

I always have to sit and do the math to figure out what year I started in a certain school because of the two year, year.

@Birdie: What was :boggie: supposed to come out as? But that's good. I know you really want to get back to school.

Yes, the kind of taste that makes them look like papillons. XD

I'm one hell of a teacher's pet. I feel SO much more confident talking to the professors than my classmates. It's a good thing and a bad thing. I'd hang with my professors if I could! My laptop is just a dinosaur, so it's good, but not light.

the antitwite 05-24-2012 03:52 AM

I guess it makes sense to have the long vacation whenever summer is in a particular country though.... Especially in Australia lol I would die if I had to do uni over the summer, I can barely leave the house because of the heat let alone study

Bound Birdie 05-24-2012 03:54 AM

:boogie: oops XD two o's one g >.<
Yeah bet he said I don't even have to GO to school XD
just hang out ALL day and be a housepet
I would go to school in the fall, but if I'm not working we'll only be able to afford part time.
It would give me time for some major projects though.

the antitwite 05-24-2012 03:56 AM

I have to do at least three out of the four subjects to get my full amount of Youth Allowance from the government, and no way in hell am I juggling Uni and a job lol

ElysiumFate 05-24-2012 03:57 AM

@Anti: Yeah, I have a hard time with summer classes because of how beautiful it is outside. I just want to go lounge in the sun and get wrinkles. ;)

And yeah, Uni and job at the same time is hard, I don't blame you.

@Birdie: OHHHH. I haven't used that emote in a long ass time so I couldn't even guess at it!

You do whatever makes you happy. I can't begrudge anybody a little free time.

the antitwite 05-24-2012 03:59 AM

Well Ive never had a job and I get stressed really easy, so if I can get away with avoiding it I will.
I wish we had summers where you could go outside lol
Here I pretty much pass out if I spend more than ten minutes outside on a hot summer day

Bound Birdie 05-24-2012 04:00 AM

Well I would use it to over haul the house, a side from being just a tad lazy  Russ is very traditional and has always wanted a "housepet" he always feels like he's not "taking care of me" when I work

Where are you antitwite?

ElysiumFate 05-24-2012 04:02 AM

@Anti: It's okay, neither have I. I'm in real need of getting one, though, and I'm working on it right now.

Did I catch that you're in Australia?

@Birdie: I like to be taken care of, but I think I'd be very unhappy if that were my whole life. So I'll work to take care of myself so I can be lazy.

the antitwite 05-24-2012 04:02 AM

Im in Australia, luckily in the South Eastern part, or the heat would have killed me by now lol

ElysiumFate 05-24-2012 04:03 AM

Does it get really humid down there, or is it just the dry heat?

the antitwite 05-24-2012 04:05 AM

In the top parts it gets ridiculously humid, down here it can sometimes, but not too bad, its in the middle somewhere.
I just dont cope well with heat, I like winter, so im happy right now :)

Bound Birdie 05-24-2012 04:06 AM

Australia seems like fun >.< It's fall there right now?

@Ely well we are hoping to flip this place so a short list of things I want to do would be
fix the roof
and a fence
overhaul our lawn
and animal doors to the inside doors (so I don't have to wake up 8 times to let a kitty in or out of the warm room  )
Resurface my bathroom counter top to match the floor

and that's just this summer... so I'd be busy and then like I said school till I get a degree. I would be pretty great though if I could just do freelance design and it just be like bonus fun money. But I'm to scared to do something like that when I'm dependent on the money.

ElysiumFate 05-24-2012 04:07 AM

We're really...uh...what would you say? Kinda in our own world, I guess, up here in the northern hemisphere. I swear most people don't think that Australia has such a thing as "winter."

I can take the dry heat...it's when it gets humid that I become unhappy.

the antitwite 05-24-2012 04:10 AM

Well where I am it doesnt snow, but it gets fairly cold.
I dont know where in Australia it does snow, apart from in the mountains, I haven't been to very far away so I have no clue about the weather of most of this country except hearing about it through friends

I like being able to rug up :)

ElysiumFate 05-24-2012 04:10 AM

@Birdie: You guys can afford all that? o.o That's nice. It's taken my family six years to just paint the house and fix the fence. XD

Yeahh, that's why I didn't just go into writing.
