So mom just called me again. Apparently this new Windows 7 has a desktop that is more like that Apple OX than what Windows users are used to. There's no My Computer, so she can't figure out where the cd drive icon is to open up her cd with backup stuff on it.

Well I'd heard good things about it, how it was so stable and compatible with most everything, much better than Vista... so I didn't think twice about advising that mom skip Vista and get the Windows7 loaded computer.

Had no CLUE it had this weird icon pop up laden background that hides anything that would make sense. Of course it's got stuff in this icon strip at the top of the screen like obviously where the shortcuts will be when we can make them - but where the heck is the basic computer stuff??? I can't tech-support something I can't SEE!

That's ok, I found a couple websites to help walk me along so I can walk HER along tomorrow. Bleh.

Yes mene does seem stable. they don't ask for a lot for hteir monthly items and they don't seem inclined to add more stupid ones for more then what the monetly items cost 'coughs' Gaia 'coughs'..And everyone on here seems rather sane.. heck i kept messing up i had FOUR strikes agianst me and all they did was give me a link to the rules and explain what i had done wrong and sent me on my marry way.
